foxclan was founded by foxstar(previously trick), when he was sent a message from starclan. he now leads his clan with courage and kindness.. but someday he hopes that the title of leader will be in his daughter, sequoiastep’s, paws. currently, the clan is thriving, but they are still shaken by the disappearance of two of their clan members —squashpaw and maplebark— who have been gone for moons now.

foxclan is a pretty normal clan. they’ve been thriving for a while now, being blessed by starclan. but they have ni clue the dangers ahead of them…

“wait… what? how did you know about that?” foxstar mews in shock. “I haven’t told them yet. I was going to, you know… but now maplebark is gone. I don’t think I could ever tell them that I’m their father… they’d resent me for the rest of their years. oh, silverpelt! forgive me!”

    Clan link: the pirates
    Prompt:
honsetly, they don’t consider themselves pirates. they prefer the term.. seacats. the pirates were originally founded by teadrip & maplebark(now maple), and have slowly been collecting stray cats who need a place or a home.

the pirates started out as an idea in teadrip’s mind— a nomadic group of cats who lived off of the sea. it was everything she could ever dream of. and who more perfect to start it with? a random clan cat she met in the twoleg continent of europe called maplebark. they instantly had a spark. it was kinda a love at first sight thing— and maplebark jumped at the chance to leave her drab, boring clan. maplebark left with teadrip and became maple, but.. she wasn’t the only one to come from foxclan.

squashpaw had been trailing after maplebark, wondering why she was meeting with a rouge in secret. it was a fact that foxclan was very rouge friendly, so she had no reason to hide that she liked a rouge. the rouge would even be offered a space in clan, for star’s sake! it made no sense in his mind, and so he followed maplebark and the rouge out to the coast. to a twoleg city filled with seacats. a twoleg sailor cat-napped him, and he got stuck on a ship sailing away from foxclan’s territory. he woke up to an unknown cat’s face peering at him. he would really regret that decision later.

religion is a bit complex in the pirates. there is no set religion, and they accept all regions. but there are often tensions between cats who don’t agree with another’s region. teadrip worships the moon goddess— a lesser known goddess who influences the tides. she’s also known as silverpelt’s older sister. maple worships silverpelt, the patron goddess of starclan & her old clan, foxclan. she’s also adopted teadrip’s goddess since she became mates with teadrip. chipper doesn’t believe in gods or mythical beings. “that’s a load of fox-dung,” he’d say if you asked if he does. azi adopts all gods, because he believes that they all need love, because some are more popular than others. lobstar is still determining who she believes.. if she believes.

all about the moon goddess.. who’s name is still unknown to this day. she’s not widely worshipped — as most think she is evil — but is actually a good cat, though she does get jealous of her younger sister being starclan’s leader. the moon goddess likes the attention cats give her in gatherings, a full moon, when she is at her peak they come and sit underneath her pride and joy. it’s a symbol for them at these times, and the moon goddes cherishes these moments.

the pirates are a nomadic group, going wherever a ship takes them. they stop at ports, restock, and leave on a different or the same ship— it all depends. squashpaw one day hope that the seas will take him back to foxclan..

“why did I join them? they seemed nice. plus, friendly here liked them from the start. oh, my favorite cat here?” lobstar blushes, “probably squashpaw —but don’t tell him I said that— or maple. they’re both awesome. almost every here is.. but chipper is scary.. I have no clue why they let him in the group!”

“why do I stay?” chipper shuffles his paws, “I have no where else to go. though they don’t like me at all, I hope to one day be a trusted member of the group. I just hope they can forgive me… I didn’t mean to attack azi! I thought he was... someone… else”

“why did I turn down teadrip and maple’s offer? why? because somewhere out there is my family, my siblings, my parents and my friends. somewhere out there they know I’m still alive. and when I get back to foxclan, they’re going to see my warrior ceremony! and we’re going to be all right!” maple looks at him sadly, before adding, “it’s almost been a whole year, squashpaw. I’m sorry.. but I’m not sure if we’re ever getting back. I regret leaving sometimes, too. I wish I had talked to my sister before I left.”

stuff that falls between groups
    (expand later!)
sirens. both clans have stories about sirens that kinda ended up mixing over the moons? maple first introduced sirens to the kits here, and after chipper and teadrip ended up expanding on the subject with tales of saltwater sirens. foxclan heard the rumors from an old rouge who used to live in a group by siren’s lake (how it earned its name!), and kits have been claiming they’ve heard it’s song for a while now. the song/lullaby that is sung by queens to kits can be found here.

      all about silverpelt.. wip

The Clan of Roaring Silence’s lore

(with a little of The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow’s as well)

Long ago in the valley shrouded in mist there lived a clan of cats that had been there for many generations. They were a large clan that always had a good sized group of apprentices. The clan was not without its faults though, the main one being the cockiness of the leader. She had become over confident in her abilities as she grew older and still did not loose a single life. But instead of seeing it as a blessing, she started to doubt the existence of starclan at all and gradually stopped listening to the once trusted medicine cat. After a prophesy about the clan that seemed to point to something bad happening didn’t come true, it concreted the foolish leaders thoughts. Though little did she know that cats had been working in the background to prevent the disaster without telling her. The ever reliable deputy had taken care of it.

Starclan was enraged and decided to send the foolish leader away and planted the idea of attacking The Clan Shrouded in Mist while she was gone into the leader of the neighboring clan’s dreams. They thought it would be okay and just prove a brief scare and warning for her, learning what had happened while she was away and restoring her faith in them. But they hadn’t predicted everything that would happen. While The Clan Shrouded in Mist was having a harsh dry season, The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow had a bit of rain brought in from the coast. A lightning storm went through, the leader at the time Hollowstar, noticed a smoldering piece of wood and got a sinister idea of how to rid the forest of the clan that inhabited the valley forever. StarClan miscalculated just how far Hollowstar would go, having seen the signs that he had a greater plan but not believing him capable of going through with it, his mother and previous mentor insisting that he wouldn’t actually go through with such a truly evil plan.

One particularly hot and dry season, Birchstar was away from the clan after the medicine cat told her of a vision and refused to let her ignore it, getting angry and nearly forcing her out. The annoyed leader went on her journey to visit the clan to the north and speak to the leader and medicine cat about the visions of her own. Because nothing serious happened to the clan in her time as leader despite never listening to StarClan, she didn’t take it serious of course and took her time, resting every night and not in any particular hurry. Every night during her long journey up the mountains she was haunted by visions of red, smoke and fire and an overwhelming heat consuming her. Still refusing to listen or give in to the warnings, she stubbornly wrote it off as her imagination due to the intense heat. By the time she reached the peaks of the clan above it was already too late for her clan. The dry foliage and brush around the clan made it an easy target for one of the worst ways for a cat to die.

For many moons they had been clashing with the clan to the east of them, fighting over prey that managed to go up the steep hill between them. They had gotten into so many quarrels that they had planted thorn bushes at the tree line to give them a bit more protection. Recently the clan had been taken over in a plot to control the nearby clans or in her clans case, wipe it out. Hollowstar loudly announced their attack and intentions to kill them all to draw some of the warriors out of camp, the camps defense plan going into action as they knew it would from their spy on the inside. An apprentice from their clan, Thornpaw had pretended to be a kit and was taken in and raised as one of them, meeting at the gathering to report back. With this knowledge they were able to trap most of the clan in the camp before Hollowstar set the brush wall ablaze with his stick. After that the warriors that had come out to defend the clan tried everything they could but it was no use and they too were picked off by the enemy attack.

Birchstar saw the billowing smoke from the raging fire below rise above the mountainside and she knew what had happened. Birds flying away in panic, she sprinted as fast as she could while the clan to the north prepared a party to come and help her. Seeing no other option, she threw herself off the meeting spot at the top of the giant waterfall, landing in the water and breaking a few of her legs but able to survive, a punishment from StarClan as the rains finally came and extinguished the flames. By then the clan to the east was already gone and her clan was no more. In this life she spent the rest of her days in a den outside of the clan to the north, being taken care of by them but living in a bit of a daze, rarely leaving her den for anything. Once she came to the end of her long life, she saw StarClan, leaving its mark on her soul as she awoke to her new life, a chance to make up for her failures as StarClan called a new leader to the once great clan’s territory. They knew he’d need guidance and sent her so she’d be older than him by the time they sent him to her. In the meantime Birchstep listened to every vision she received and did whatever she could to prepare the territory for the new clan.

As soon as she was able to fend for herself, she left her family and began her life of tending to the land, planting trees replenish the ones lost to the fire around the camp and spending many moons digging out many escape tunnels to avoid such a terrible fate happening again. No longer was she carefree and arrogant, instead she was driven and vigilant. Though she would act as a mentor to the new leader once he arrived, she had adamantly decided that she would never take a position of power within the clan again, even if offered. Though she had learned her lesson, she didn’t want to risk becoming arrogant again and loosing her place in StarClan that she was fighting so hard to earn.

Some lore told by cats:

“In one of the ancient battles, the enemy clan tried to sneak onto our land and attack. Little did they know how foolish that truly was. The clan underestimated the mist which shrouds our valley and quickly got lost in it, but what was worse, they were found by a hunting party. Apprentices ran back to camp as fast as their legs could carry, but the warriors stayed behind to corral the invaders. The mist cloaked their scent to the outsiders, but to the great Mistwalkers it was clear. The deputy signaled to the remaining two warriors to flank the party and in a silence you could hear the heart beat of a mouse through, they began to strike. One at a time they appeared only for a brief moment and slashed the enemy with their sharp talons before disappearing once more into the mist. Their attacks were so quiet yet coordinated as they had been trained in such maneuvers since apprentices. But still their goal was to keep them until the leader and back up arrived, so together the three forced the cats closer and closer until they couldn’t take a single step without being slashed. The onslaught ceased once help arrived and the whole clan stepped out of the mist, surrounding the evaders and walking them back to their side of the border, scars warning others not to do the same.”- Lorekeeper

“The old traditions of the clan shrouded in mist still show many moons later.” The echoing words of Starclan turned Badgerstar’s dream to a vision. He was unable to control his movements but the dream felt strangely familiar. He was smaller than he normally was and a few familiar looking apprentices ran by, the clan bustling around them in excitement as an apprentice ceremony was about to happen.

“Come on Badgerpaw! Flamescar will yell at you if you’re late again!” A young ginger she-cat said as she ran by the entrance of the cozy cave den. Badgerstar stretched and when he spoke his voice was not his own, coming out much higher pitched. “I know I know, I just couldn’t sleep last night I was so excited! More apprentices to practice with. Plus now we don’t have to clean up after Brokenfang.” He said with a laugh before running after her.

Together they settled to watch the ceremony began. A kits were escorted by their proud mothers to the flat cliff side next to the small waterfall. Their leader stood atop the small ledge next to the trickling waterfall and began the clan meeting. “My friends we are here gathered beneath Little Skygracer to witness kits leaving the nest, earning their mark on the mountainside that provides us with bountiful prey. We thank Starclan for their guidance and wisdom.” He said before the clan echoed back in unison “We thank Starclan for their guidance and wisdom.” With that the ceremony began with the kits walking up to where the medicine cat was sat, a leaf with chewed red plants mixed with water at her feet, the red staining her chin and paws. The kits all placed their paws into it before placing it along the rows of matching paw prints. Some having scratches through them, something that made Badgerstar feel strangely sick to his stomach, even though he didn’t know why. It made him think back to the current state of the wall, now covered in scratches, the paw prints washed away by moons of rain without the protective leaves above them. Even higher up on the rock face next to Big Skygracer there were larger paw prints, belonging to the warriors of the clan. Up near the mouth of the leaders den even higher were the few paw prints of leaders with stars above them to show their importance. - A vision from StarClan

Cat personalities and personal histories:

Name: Badgerstar
Gender: Tom
Rank: Leader (former)
Age: 46 moons (deceased)
Personality: Brave and noble, he was selfless to a fault and was ready and willing to use the gifts StarClan gave him to protect others, giving many of his lives to save his clan mates because he knew he would be okay. No amount of pain or suffering would ever prevent him from giving his all to save someone. As a leader he was steadfast in his belief that everycat was welcome in his clan and StarClan sent him to revive the clan and accept everyone without question. He was called foolish by his enemies because of this. Though a tom of few words, he knew when he did speak it carried weight and especially as the clan grew he became more aware of this fact, an argument with a certain headstrong young warrior causing the rest of the clan to ostracize the individual, this event causing him to become more patient and aware of his position as leader. With his family he was caring and gentle, never neglecting them and always making time to do what they wanted and traveling with them to visit his mate in the clan to the north on occasion and go hunting when asked.
History: Badgerstar started life as a barn cat named Harley, there he met his mate Dreamcloud as she her clan helped him defend his home and she taught him about clan life. Badgerstar began his long journey from the farm he once called home to the territory he’d received a vision of. He had long been acquainted with clan cats around his farm, his interactions with them ranging from amorous to going to war to defend his farm. Growing up defending the farm from vermin and foxes hardened the Tom into a skilled fighter and hunter, wearing the large scar across his muzzle from defending his chickens proudly. His two-legs were an elderly couple who’d cared for him and his family for generations, though as the moons passed the old man who once tossed them scraps began smelling differently, like disease and it wasn’t long after that he stopped coming out of the farm house all together. Strangers came soon after and began trapping his family so Badgerstar, then Harley had no choice but to leave. It was then when he received a vision of a mist filled valley that was bountiful in prey and safe from two-legs like the once who took his family.
Relationships: Dreamcloud (mate), Pangolinquiver (son), Mistwing (son), Birdsong (daughter), Mouser(deceased mother), unknown siblings

Name: Lynxtuft
Gender: Molly
Rank: Warrior
Age: 50 moons
Personality: Stern and easily angered, Lynxtuft is a no nonsense type of molly who is fiercely protective of her family, not hesitating to fight cat who are bigger and outnumber her for them. As a mentor and mother she is the same and does not go easy on anyone because of their age or abilities. Highly intelligent, she knows better than to underestimate cats and is able to tell when someone is lying fairly easily unless they have been trained in it.
History:
Lynxtuft’s first meeting with Badgerstar went like this:

Heading to the west this time as he explored his new territory, Badgerstar leaves the river and tries to follow any scent he can find. Eventually though he smells something familiar, kits. He couldn’t help but wonder what kits were doing out here so he followed the scent until he came across a trio with tufted ears playing in a hollow rotting log. Hawkkit and Crowkit were already establishing a rivalry between each other, while Robinkit searched the log for anything useful, even practicing hunting on a few bugs. Pouncing towards the entrance of the log, he gasped as he saw Badgerstar’s piercing moss colored eyes staring at him, his size and presence enough to make the kit freeze. “Mama!” Crowkit mewed as he noticed the stranger, Hawkkit bravely charging over and standing in front of her frightened brother to protect him, Crowkit joining him after a brief hesitation, being the less overly courageous of the two.

Badgerstar opened his mouth to explain himself to the kits, but all he got out was a brief “Wait-“ before being tackled from above and pinned beneath a snarling queen who was prepared to rip his throat out, claws already digging into his shoulder and stomach as she growled down at him. “What do you think you’re doing to my kits you beastly Tom?!” She snapped, almost frothing at the mouth she was filled with so much rage at the mere thought of him touching them. The she-cat had once belonged to a clan a good distance away but when her relationship with a rival clan cat was discovered she was forced to choose between her clan and her mate. She chose her mate in the end and when she went to join him in his clan they were both chased out and they traveled until they were far enough away to avoid being tracked down by her mate’s clan, having left a few members with pretty bad scars after they tried chasing them out by force. This was just the beginnings of their misfortune as due to a particularly brutal leafbare, they lost a kit to the cold. Not long after this incident a hungry fox attacked them while they slept and her mate died protecting her and their remaining three kits. The kits were too young at the time to remember this so Lynxtuft was always wary of what to say to them, unsure if it would upset them too much to bring up such a topic, especially out of the blue.

Lynxtuft pressed on Badgerstar’s windpipe as she sized him up, his face scar making her uneasy since it meant he’d seen battle. Regaining a bit of composure she realized he wasn’t fighting her or pushing her off of him even though he was a fair bit bigger than her. Still she wouldn’t let that relax her until she knew exactly who he was and what he was doing near her kits. “Speak.” She growled, the hair on her spine slowly relaxing at least a little. “Y-Yes,” he started before clearing his throat as she moved her paw slightly so he could breathe and respond to her. “My name is Harley, or rather Badgerstrike, now Badgerstar.” Lynxtuft narrowed her mismatched eyes and stabbed him a little with her claws. “You’re a clan cat? No you don’t smell like a clan cat, and you aren’t ashamed of your kittypet name either yet claim to be a leader, explain.” She demanded, panic triggering her response as she remembered her last encounter with clan cats, loosing part of her ear when she was ran out with her mate. “Yes, well you see I was a barn cat that helped the clans around my home and in return was helped defend it with them as well. The clan I was familiar with gave me a clan name of Badgerstrike after we went to war together, due to two legs taking my family away in their monsters I had to leave or I’d be next. I received a vision from Starclan about this valley, that I’d be safe and that I should come here for a new beginning to start a clan of my own.” He said before Lynxtuft finally jumped off of him, sitting in front of her kits as she thought. She thought about his words carefully and looked back at her kits, knowing she couldn’t keep doing this by herself, not everything that found them would be as friendly. It was clear to her that he believed everything he was saying and decided to trust him, but would be prepared to leave if needed. “Alright, I’ll join you then. My kits need a safe place to grow up, being a loner doesn’t suit me. My name is Lynxtuft and these are my kits, Hawkkit, Crowkit and Robinkit.” She said, flicking her ear to them and they all three came forward, Robinkit still timid.

Relationships: Sorrelflame (deceased mate), Finchkit(deceased daughter), Hawkflight (daughter), Crowsight (son), Robincloud (son)

Name: Apple
Gender: Molly
Rank: Queen
Age: 40 moons
Personality: Soft sweet and bubbly, not able to hunt very well, she spends most of her time raising kits in the nursery as one of the few full time queens. She adores her mate and his entire family that accepted her and will do anything for them.
History:

A bit spoiled, she was a kittypet content with her easy life, being raised by a breeder that specialized in rare breeds. However as her siblings were sold off to loving families with kids who played with them Apple was only ever disappointed. She wasn’t allowed to go play with them since she’d been chosen to be kept and bred as well, something she wasn’t told about by her mother until she was about a year old. She realized then that that wasn’t the life she wanted, seeing how exhausted her mother was from having so many kits. Of course there wasn’t much she could do to avoid this fate. That was until she met him, he was still an apprentice at the time but was about to be moved up to warrior. Tall dark and handsome, even though it was cliche. And best of all he was kind to her and treated her like a cat instead of a potential mate. His name was Bravepaw, later Bravetalon and he lived up to his name, braving the neighbors large dog every time he traveled along the fence to reach her yard and see her. The two legs kept her inside since it was too dangerous for a future queen to be outside, but still they left the windows open during spring to let the nice breeze in. For several moons he came to visit her, sitting on the windowsill while she laid in her comfy bed inside.

The time for her to become a mother was fast approaching, but one day he came to her window late and covered in deep scratches, patched up by a medicine cat but obviously still painful from his limp. “I can’t bare to see you like this, day after day I worry wether you’ll return to me. Now you come fur covered in dried blood and I can’t even nurse your wounds. It’s too much... they found me a mate, but unless he is you I don’t want to become mates with anyone. Take me with you.” She begged, causing Bravetalon to smile at her despite his pain and nod. “I thought you’d never ask.” He said before standing on his hind legs and using his sharp talons to rake down the mesh, tearing large slits in it for her to slip out. He’d never mentioned her running away with her before since he didn’t want to pressure her into leaving such an easy life behind for him, to risk her life everyday just to be with him was too much to put on her. But seeing her cry tore him up inside and he made a promise that day to always protect her no matter what. Ignoring any warrior code, he’d always feed her first and protect her before anyone else. She’d never want for anything and he’d do whatever she needed him to to make her happy. Of course hearing her say she wanted to be his mate filled him with both embarrassment and pride, knowing he’d never find anyone kinder than her or more perfect for him to spend the rest of his life with even though they were both still young.

Joining his clan, he got the leaders permission to become her mentor despite being younger than what was generally allowed. The was a bit of prejudice surrounding her, the queens and elders gossiping about her as she passed by. Not the type to try and cause trouble, she just shrugged them off since they didn’t know anything about her or why she was here. Bravetalon would always spring to her aid and defend her when they spoke badly of her, though he’d always have to bite his tongue in explaining the situation since she didn’t want the other cats to rest her differently because of it, she wasn’t sure if they’d treat her better or worse, but she didn’t want to find out. Of course she was never confrontational about it, rather, cheerfully changing the subject to avoid making things awkward. Though this silence couldn’t last forever and when it came out what she was supposed to do as a kitty pet, the clan’s attitude changed for the worse. Bravetalon and his family were disgusted by their close mindedness and callous hearts and decided then and there to leave the clan, Fishswat having already accepted her as if she were one of her own and having been told of the situating before anyone else. Fishswat, being Bravetalon’s mother wasn’t about to let the clan insult and shun her family member. Apple felt bad for causing such a divide but knew there was nothing she could do the change the stubborn old queens mind and joined them in their journey for a new clan. Fishswat telling her stories of an old clan she grew up in as a kit before her mother took her to her fathers clan with her. She knew the clan was long gone, but visions from starclan sent them to it anyways.

Relationships: Bravetalon (mate), Fishswat (mother-in-law), Spottedcry (sister-in-law), Vampirefang (brother-in-law), + many nieces and nephews

The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow

Hollowstar is now in the dark forest, joined by his mother and mentor who voluntarily went there to repent and make up for their roles in creating such a monster. Thornpaw became leader after poisoning the previous deputy when Hollowstar became close to the end of his last life. He reminded Hollowstar of his bravery and actions during what had come to be known as the Great Valley Blaze. No one but the two of them knew Hollowstar had the idea to set the camp on fire like that. Before his death, Thornstar named Wolfstar, the descendant of Hollowstar his successor. Upon his leader ceremony, Hollowstar came to him and gave him the last of his nine lives and with it came visions of the past and what he had done to the clan in the valley and a omen of their return. Now that the clan was rebuilding, Wolfstar is uncertain of his feelings towards the clan, though he is fiercely protective of his territory and claim to their prey, he is scared of turning down the same path as his ancestor.

Image

Not so distant past

Before the fateful night that the new founder and great leader of The Clan of Roaring Silence met his early grave, moons before Cerberuspaw was born, Harpypaw was given a mission. Her mentor as well as the deputy of The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow, Lilyheart had tasked her with a very special mission. The goal was to infiltrate the growing clan under the ruse of being a reincarnated clan member like the others, something the deputy had listened in on at a meeting between the two clans that Wolfstar had orchestrated to establish their territories to avoid meaningless conflict. Though he was fiercely territorial and enjoyed scrimmages, he wasn’t about to go to war over nothing, no matter what the dark shadow cat over his shoulder whispered to him… This information sparked a thought, a wicked thought that turned into a vile plan to hopefully destroy the clan before they could get their footing. Lilyheart wasn’t a fan of sharing the prey that would go between their territories and was paranoid of loosing even a leaf of her territory to them. The deputy was smart and deliberately picked her because she was sickly and missed the meeting between the two clans so they didn’t know she was actually one of theirs. Having whitecough was perfect because it would make the clan trust her more. She had taken notice of the ranks in the clan and how a good number of them were former rogues and kitty pets, it told her they wouldn’t hesitate to adopt an ailing apprentice and later kit.

Even though it could very well lead to her end, Lilyheart put a stop to her treatment for her decease and stopped feeding her, leaving her even weaker than before. “Now, Harpypaw you will drag yourself to their boarder and tangle yourself in one of their briars until they come for you. If you are pathetic enough they will show mercy and take you in. Just remember that they’ll kill you on whim if you don’t make them like you. Become an important member of the clan to them. Wolfstar’s heir will be born in a few moons, by then you should be reaching the end of your apprenticeship. When he arrives you will protect him, he’s the only hope we have to avoiding war with those monstrous cursed cats. Remember that you were reincarnated like the rest of them, but can’t remember your name because of the whitecough. If they ask anything the most you can remember is your siblings having whitecough as well.” the devilish she-cat ordered her apprentice, sure to tell everyone in the clan that she died from whitecough, the only clan member knowing of her treatment being the medicine cat who was too afraid of her to say anything. If she ever did come back she’d brush off any questions about it and blame the medicine cat, who was old and feeble. The next cat on her list in fact, not wanting to leave any loose ends to come and bite her. Her training of Harpypaw was brutal already, so she was certain the weak and scared cat would never betray her, the perfect spy. Of course by the time she became a warrior she’d be too big to be as useful of a spy, so her son would take over in her place one it was time.

All of this because of Lilyheart’s desire to lead her clan, even from the shadows, knowing if anything happened to Wolfstar her child would be the obvious next leader due to Hollowstar’s support.

Current events Lore that affects both clan’s futures

The death of Badgerstar.

Several moons passed since the rebuilding of The Clan Shrouded in Mist, now known as The Clan of Roaring Silence due to the absence making the lack of cat noise in the valley deafening. Badgerstar was a charismatic leader, though he was still quite clumsy in both the way he lead and physically. Despite only being 45 moons he was already on his last life, though that fact he kept quiet. The only cats that knew about his lifespan was Ghosteyes the medicine cat, Saberfang the deputy, Lynxtuft his first recruit and Silvercloud his guardian. It was hard to hide it from Lynxtuft, especially since their first leaf-bare was so harsh. Through the entire stretch, he refused to eat so that her kits would survive. During his journey to collect his now adult children, Birdsong and Mistwing from Dreamcloud, he has actually lost a few lives from pushing his body too far.

Loosing four in total during his first season as leader. The second season was met with his first run in with the clan to the east. Dreamcloud had warned him of them and what they did to the clan as well as the role they played in its demise. His first meeting with the notoriously territorial clan went as well as anyone could have guessed, ending in Badgerstar loosing a life protecting his apprentice, Cerberuspaw. Though little did he know, Cerberuspaw wasn’t actually in danger as he approached the leader of The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow’s two wolves. It was the first test to see how he would react to a kit who wasn’t born into his clan being in danger. Cerberuspaw was the son of the wicked deputy of the rival clan, being groomed since birth to infiltrate and cause damage to the once extinct clan. As soon as she found out about the clan’s resurrection, she decided to try and eliminate it once again and had Cerberuspaw for the pure purposes of destroying it again while it was still weak. She thought they wouldn’t have had enough time to build a strong enough clan to survive the loss of their leader. Unfortunately she was wrong, and his death would make them stronger with Saberstar as their leader holding a grudge.

Because of Silvercloud it was hard for anyone to get near Badgerstar after he lost a life to The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow’s wolves and was on his 5th life. Unfortunately his 6th life was taken by the infection later since at the time they didn’t have a medicine cat. Luckily for them Peakclan to the north had an excellent medicine cat apprentice program and had an excess of medicine cats. As one received her warrior name, she decided to leave her twin behind and go where she was truly needed in the clan below. The clan appreciated Ghosteyes as she tended their wounds and cured their sicknesses from the harsh leaf-bare. During this time, Badgerstar came clean to her about how many lives he had left as his longest friend Lynxtuft and guardian Silvercloud watched over him. His deaths starting to take a role on his body, joints developing arthritis which he hid well from the rest of the clan. Cerberuspaw, a kit at the time had been listening in and relayed the message to his mother to start their scheming. Meanwhile the voice of the ancestral founder of The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow, Hollowstar who was banished to the dark forest was whispering in his ear.

Cerberuspaw was often made fun of or avoided by other kits and apprentices because of his second tail. Being seen as a ‘cursed cat’ even in his own clan due to his abnormality. That along with the fact he wasn’t afraid of and that Wolfstar’s wolves seemed to care for him, made Cerberuspaw the perfect successor for leader. Despite being named deputy, his mother would never be allowed to ascend to the position of leader. The way that the more British clan was ran was by order of who was strongest. Even amongst the warriors there was a ranking system that determined how they treated each other, and that system was who ever was physically strongest. Though his mother wasn’t weak by any means, she was made deputy because of her mind, being an excellent strategist and planner. She controlled how the clan operated, telling cats where they could hunt to avoid over hunting areas and what areas to avoid because of her knowledge of predator territories and behavior. Despite this she still commanded respect, having a wicked temper and able to take down most of the warriors due to battle strategy, though she was physically unable to beat the larger cats and would be ousted if she ever tried to become leader because of that. So she decided to take control another way, by having her offspring completely under her claw and run the clan from the shadows. Of course she would never kill Wolfstar since he was the direct descendant of Hollowstar who she revered more than any cat in StarClan due to his completely annihilation of his rivals through any means necessary. She was a patient queen and would wait her turn for Cerberuspaw to reign, supporting and manipulating him along the way.

As the moons passed, Cerberuspaw went to Badgerstar and begged for him to be his mentor since the rest of the clan treated him differently and with him he felt safe. Though it didn’t last long, Badgerstar genuinely cared about him and did his best to teach the young cat. Newleaf brought with it rain and the river that flows through the heart of camp flooded a bit. This is where Badgerstar lost his next life, always the first to jump into help since his lives were expendable. Saving a kit that fell in while playing too close, he lost his 7th life drowning while keeping it above water and tossing it to shore before being swept all the way down stream. On the long journey home he was attacked by a bear and was left on his final life. Having a new scar on his back from being attacked by the bear, it was obvious he had lost at least two lives in the ordeal. Most of the clan believed he was on his 4th life at most due to his age and not being around during his first season as leader, so it was a shock when upon being checked on after being tended to that night by his apprentice Cerberuspaw, he was found dead with a pile of death berries next to him and no sign of Cerberuspaw.

After the vigil and other ceremonies of The Clan of Roaring Silence, including the larger cats moving his body to the bottom of the large waterfall to add his paw print on a smooth stone pulled from the river to the pile of them behind the waterfall in the small cave that protected them from the elements. Ghosteyes performed the ceremony, chewing up the black berries that temporarily stained her fur black instead of its usual red from the happier ceremonies. Not knowing of Cerberuspaw’s true origins, a search party was organized by Silvercloud to track him down and get answers. Luckily the rain hadn’t washed his scent away so he as well as 5 of the best trackers began their search. They kept their eye out for any danger as well as any prey to stash on the way to find the apprentice. Among their ranks were Peachnose, Hawkflight, Lynxtuft, Bravetalon and Vampirefang. Being the most senior warrior there as well as the best tracker, Vampirefang took the lead with Bravetalon by his side and Silvercloud covering the back of the patrol to avoid ambush as they made their way towards the boarder of The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow. Being just an apprentice made Cerberuspaw slow and they would see him join Wolfstar’s wolves as though he knew them well and was escorted up the steep banks of the valley over the boarder into The Clan of the Forgotten Hollow, leaving the sorrowful and angry cats with more questions than answers. They knew the wolves attacked Badgerstar before and didn’t want to risk the consequences of calling out to Cerberuspaw and potentially being attacked by them so returned to camp without answers.

Other side of the night Badgerstar was assassinated

Harpyfeather meets Cerberuspaw at top the ledge beneath the greater waterfall, the soft roar of it enough to prevent any one from listening into their conversation. The sound that made her feel strangely calm and put her mind at ease as she drifted to sleep each night now echoing the pounding of her chest at the thought of what was about to happen. Though she had done her job well in keeping Cerberuspaw safe as he was now fully trusted by the clan, to the point he was called upon to watch after the ailing leader, she couldn’t help but wonder if she had done the right thing? Was Lilyheart right when she told her all those moons ago that if this peaceful clan were to grow in power that they would kill her family? It didn’t seem right. Before her mission Lilyheart fed her tales of the clan who was now blessed by StarClan to return. Her mentor whom she trusted with her life had woven the web of lies that warped her perspective on everything the clan did for many moons. Tales of how brutal and cruel the Mistwalkers were made her too afraid to even sleep her first few moons. It was how she was named even, pretending to have amnesia, one of the queens that took care of her named Lavenderblossom would call her a ‘sleepy morning dove’ because of how tired she always was. The longer she spent with these cats the more she began to doubt her mentor. “-pyfeather… -arpyfeather. Harpyfeather!” Cerberuspaw’s voice called out to her, breaking her from her trance as she thought back on the moons that brought her to this day. “Yes, sorry, Cerberuspaw. I was lost in thought… ” the spy said, shaking her head to clear it before taking a deep breath and sitting up straight. She pawed the bundle of leaves over to the apprentice, eyes affixed to them as she thought about what she was doing. Before she could change her mind or pull it back, the apprentice pulled them towards him. “Thank you for finding these. I couldn’t steal the one Ghosteyes keeps in her den because she would have noticed. She may be blind but she is surprisingly observant. She makes me nervous talking to her for too long. The other apprentices say she’s psychic and knows when you’re lying. Though it might just be because they suck at it. I didn’t want to take the chance. I was also worried one wouldn’t be enough. Badgerstar is a big cat, even if he’s weakened from the bear mother lead to him, he’s still a leader.” he said talking more than he normally did to try and calm his nerves. After all he was still an apprentice and this was a lot for anyone to do. Harpyfeather eyed the parasol and nodded, ears flicking back ever so slightly. “You’re right. Well you should go…” she said before the apprentice nodded and gave her a determined look with a hint of fear behind it as he took the berries and snuck back to the leaders den.

After Badgerstar’s assassination, Harpyfeather and Cerberuspaw were then expected to return to the Clan of the Forgotten Hollow, Cerberuspaw first and then Harpyfeather once things calmed down. Harpyfeather’s task to protect and monitor Cerberuspaw’s mission until completion and take the fall for him if needed has been completed. But now what, will she return to the clan she grew up in, her family and friends, or will she stay? How can she continue lying to the cats who took care of her for so long when she was sick and weak after the part she played in the death of the cat who had personally brought her into the clan?
