Pockets full of shells, you make your way back to Carter's cabin, very aware of the faint jingling your finds are making. Once you make it to the clearing, you're greeted by the sight of Carter sprawled out on his stomach in the grass, eyes closed. Piled up alongside the house are several stacks of wood. Seems like chopping all of that really did a number on him. You shuffle around a bit, unsure if he's asleep or not and unwilling to wake him up. His voice makes you jump as he suddenly speaks up, eyes still shut tight.

"How was your time at the beach? Didya find anything nice for Timothy?"

You hesitantly approach his prone form, emptying out your laden pockets onto the nearby tree stump. With a groan of effort (he really sounds like he doesn't want to get up, you think), Carter gets to his feet and slowly makes his way over. He inspects your findings, and his face finally breaks into his usual grin.

"This is a great haul! I'm sure Timothy will perk right up when he sees this! Maybe you can help 'im put all these back once he's done playing with 'em?"

Today, Carter looks to be hard at work, breaking rocks (seems to be a theme with him these days, you think) and geodes and carefully placing the more manageable pieces into a padded crate. All the rocks and geodes are very pretty, much different than the normal stones you saw him breaking down in the past. You ask him what he’s doing, intrigued.

"Oh, Thatcher told me he needed some rocks an' gems for some repairs he’s planning on doin'."

You furrow your brow, and mention that you haven't met Thatcher before. Carter shakes his head and chuckles, turning back to reach for another unopened geode.

“You’ll probably meet him in time, the island is pretty small. He’s a cool guy, if not a lil' eccentric... A big fan of crabs, too.”

He looks at the geode in his hands, split perfectly down the middle, inspecting it for a moment before heaving a big sigh and continuing.

“Anyways, dunno what exactly what he’s gonna do with all of these -he mentioned some kind of shrine, I think?- but he wanted some suggestions on how to arrange the gems for whatever he’s putting together. I’ve never been the interior (exterior?) decorating type, believe it or not, so maybe you can help me out, an' I’ll pass along the message.”

A shrine, huh...
You can't say you're not a little hesitant, with the way Carter described Thatcher,
but decorating sounds like a lot of fun!
Maybe you could keep some of the gems left over...

Kimberly stares blankly for a moment, her mind quickly coming up with ideas. She finally settled on one.

“Perhaps he can arrange the gems into ocean shapes. For example, you could use the red, orange, and pink gems to create a crab. And the blues, greens, and whites into a sea animal, like a whale or a dolphin. The paler oranges and tans could be seashells! You could also do a sort of ocean, with transparent blues and clear gems. And surrounding the entire thing, you could do an array of gems of every color! Maybe you could make the surrounding gems the shape of a sun or star! Ooo maybe each design could be... interacting in some way. A whale could be playing with a fish. Or perhaps a seal could be balancing a seashell on their nose! Or maybe even a dolphin spouting some water! Adding a boat would also be a cool idea! That should be the largest piece, and very detailed. I bet it would look great with all the life around and beneath it. The boat should be created out of very bright colors, sorta to symbolize... life, I guess.” Kimberly breathed. “I’ve never been a great designer, but I think I really like this idea, and I hope Thatcher does too!”

At this point, Agaricus is just confused as to why Carter is coming to him of all kals for advice. His advice is mediocre at best. Still, it's only polite to give your best answer...Right?
"Gemstones have always fascinated me," Agaricus begins. "If I wasn't so interested in my mycology then I would have probably been a geologist at heart." He chuckles to himself, unfortunately sounding rather dark but it's completely unintentional. Though Carter has probably noticed how much more comfortable the other kal has gotten over the last few days. Perhaps it was the others extroverted nature that dragged Agaricus out of his shell.
"Anyway... Well you mentioned your friend has an interest in crabs, yes?"
"Ay, I did!" Carter breaks open another geode and examines it before putting it with the rest.
"Well... Your friend could perhaps make it.. Crab shaped? Arrange the gems in the outline of a crab with perhaps more orange and red gems.. That might be nice. Or something easier would be to arrange them into the cancer sign? That is often associated with crabs so it would still be themed after that. If that's what your friend is after, of course..." The dark kal cuts himself off as if he felt he'd been talking too long.
"Aah, that's a wonderful idea actually!" Carter beems as he whacks another geode in two. "Though I don't knowif there will be enough of the right colours to do that. We'll see though." He smiles and continues breaking open geodes whilst the two idly chat on. Although Agaricus isn't one for small talk (or.. talk at all), he didn't mind speaking with this Kal. And hopefully his advice for Carter's friend would be useful.

"Blue!" Luna exclaims as she examines the geodes placed in front of her. "I like the color blue! We're going to make it blue! It'll be pretty if we use one color but different shades of it. It will look just like the ocean... I just hope he's making some kind of ocean-related shrine," she rambled as she sifted through the gems & picking out the blue ones. The geodes glimmered under the sunlight like tidepools as she picked them up & set the gems at her feet.
"Now uh, a shape! Since the geodes are already pretty complex looking, I think sticking to more simple patterns would be a better idea. A circle maybe?" Luna bent down & set the geodes into a circle. "That looks nice! I think we can rearrange them so that the darker blue gems will be in the center & the lighter ones will be on the outside. Like a color scale. The darker colors will represent depth!" Luna chirped as she excitedly arranged the gems. Though the design looked nice, she felt like something was missing. What could that be?
"Oh of course! How could I forget? Your friend likes crabs right? Let's find smaller red gems to put in between the blue ones to represent crabs in the water! That gives it a nice finishing touch."

She gave a loud, almost vexatious sigh. After her last tidbit of advice, the archer was shocked
he was still coming to her. Though she hadn't minded providing a helping hand to others
and therefore didn't complain outwardly. "A shrine, huh? Well, you said he likes crabs so... make
a crab!" The brunette exclaimed, pointing out the red gems, then suggesting the blue ones be used
as a pair of eyes. "But, since you have so many left over, perhaps he could make... a bunch of
differently colored crabs? I mean, hey, crabs aren't just red, right? If this guy loves crabs so much,
then he could make one big crab and a bunch of little ones surrounding it." Katniss slowly began taking
the other various glowing geodes and maneuvering them into the outline of small crabs. "If that isn't
enough and he really wants a challenge, he could give them some sort of habitat. Maybe they're in
a tide pool or the ocean." This Thatcher guy certainly sounded a little kooky, and part of her really
hoped she didn't run into him. With her luck, though? She would. He'd round the corner right
now or something. "Well, let me know if you need anything else, I guess."
