Hush wrote:Name: Harley (I can never seem to think of a clan cat name for him so just Harley)
Description: Harley is an enormous fluffy Tom. His fur is what really makes him look big though, he is actually quite muscular under all that fluffy fur. His legs are long but look shorter because of his fur. He has a black pelt with white legs that are different lengths, the shortest his toes the longest his entire leg. He has a white spot on his chest that covers most of it and goes to his belly, his eyes are a nice grassy green. Half of his muzzle is white while the other half gets smaller as it curls around his top lip.
Important Notes: Harley is a kind Tom who treats all cats with the same respect because of his unknown origin. He is particularly fond of kits and loves to play with them mostly because of his younger adoptive siblings. He's also apart of the siblings group. He usually enjoys helping apprentices train even if they aren't his. He'd always help his more determined siblings train growing up because of his enormous size.

I understand where you're comming from their personalities are in the works when I write what they are instead of how they actually are. It's weird for me to keep a static character. Vampirefang even had an incident where he went a little crazy which was fun but not something I wanted.

I recommend writing (or drawing) dialog and small scenes if you want to get a good look at your character and how they act! It really helps if they're in a scene with another character who has a radically different personality so they can bounce off of each other, plus writing different kinds of characters is fantastic practice for diversity. More often than not, those sorts of things reveal who your character is far more than just a ref sheet.

Since he doesn't have a warrior name, here's a special rating.

Suggested Name: Badgerpelt/Swiftfur (suffixes interchangeable)
Reasoning: He's a black and white cat, hence the two names above, but I recommend -fur over -pelt, due to -fur usually referring to a long-haired cat. He's not quite on -cloud levels, but he's close.

Character Rating: 10/10
Character Reasoning: I can't really see anything in his personality that conflicts. He's gentle, warm and as helpful as he can be. He sounds like someone who would be a great father figure or even a genuine parent (unfortunately, there's no suffixes for a good father, haha), and I can see him earning a lot of apprentices (even if he doesn't intend to rise up to leader status) thanks to his kind and empathetic attitude. Well done here!

XD That's pretty much their entire sibling group's conversations.

I already have a Badgerclaw, and a Swiftfire :c I hate using the same prefex. Harley's based off of a irl cat that I know so I made him the way the real Harley is.

If they're in the same Clan, then it would probably be an issue, but if it's just a character thing, that's understandable. There are other prefixes, such as Avocet-, Loon-, or Sheep-, and that's if the white is pretty obvious on his black pelt. If it's more 75:25, then he could go for a simply black prefix, like Starling- or Rook- (which both work with white markings).

Rook- is a pretty cool name, definitely. It has more room for larger white markings than Starling-, so I'll suggest Rook- more.

Image/Description: Daisyfield is a tabby she-cat with brown splotches of fur on a short haired coat. Her tail is all cream except for a brown tip on the end of it. She has the most amazing yellow eyes that sparkle like diamonds in the sunlight. She is unusually small for an apprentice of her age. That is good because she can hunt closer to the ground and she can hide easier. The only bad thing about that is that she is sometimes gets picked on because of her size by other apprentices. Her ears are rounded at the top which is very common in cats. She has a pink nose that doesn’t look right with the rest of her body. In short she's a brown and white tabby she-cat.

Name:Daisyfield
Gender:Female
Clan:StarClan
Rank:Warrior/Queen

Personality:Daiysfield is always very calm and was always ready train, hunt, and/or patrol when she was with WindClan. This brown tabby was is in a good mood but if you do something to get her mad; she will get furious, even though she doesn't stay mad for long. She is very loyal to her former clan and would never betray them, or so she thought. Daisyfield is a very good friend to everyone and a fierce, loyal warrior that has helped her clan, even after her death.

Skills: Hunting and helping out others.

Important Notes: I for one didn't own this character right off the bat. I adopted her a couple years ago as Daisypaw. This is the name her leader and mentor came up with.

Adopted characters are just fine! I assume that she's part of a group RP, if you had no input on her name (which you should have, especially after a couple years).

Before we get started, the color combo was a little confusing - I wasn't sure whether she was a tortoiseshell tabby, or a white cat with patches of a brown tabby coat. I will assume that the latter is her coloring. With that in mind, here we go.

Name Rating: 6/10
Name Type: Lyrical
Name Reasoning: Daisy- is a traditional name, but it's for a white or light golden cat (bonus if it's a white and golden patched cat), not a brown and white one. That isn't too much of an issue to fix.
Her suffix, -field, seems to exist solely for fitting with her prefix - referencing a field of daisies. If we were to go at this from a practical angle, I can't really find an argument for it. -field doesn't really describe anything. I suppose it could mean that this cat's good at hunting in the open, but we have a suffix for hunting skills (-whisker).
Luckily, she is a skilled hunter, so we have that!
Alternative Name: Brightwhisker/Chubwhisker. Bright- references her white coat against the contrast of her brown patches, and Chub refers to a brown-and-white cat (a chub, for those of you at home, is a type of fish). She gets -whisker for her skillful hunting.

Character Rating: 7/10
Character Reasoning: Overall, a calm, helpful, and hardworking cat is just fine, and a good addition to a Clan. There are a few things I'd like to address though: the fiercely loyal bit, and the seething rage.
The first issue can be responded with simply by quoting the Loyal entry on the front page:
it's a basic requirement to be a warrior. It's actually a necessity, otherwise you have no right to be in a Clan(...)it's a default thing, much like being a decent human being. You don't get brownie points for being loyal to the death.

So as you can see, it's not really worth mentioning for the simple fact that any Clan cat worth their salt will have it.
Now for the "gets angry if you aggravate her" thing.
It seems like a bit of a sudden jerk from one trait to another, really. All of her other traits combine nicely, but the furious nature, even if it's just for a short time, doesn't fit. She'd probably be more composed than that. I would suggest finding another way to have her respond to aggravation.
She could simply stare down the cat, or act a little chilly towards them. She could take on the tone of a disappointed teacher or mother (absolutely the worst feeling in the world as a youngster is having someone let you know that they expected better of you with that sad resignation), especially to those younger than her. She might have a certain way of talking that's the only hint that she's angry - perhaps she enunciates more intensely, or doesn't move her jaw much, or speaks slowly and in a low voice. Something more subdued can still be really effective!

Just as a question:

Would this cat be suitable for the Robin- prefix? On the Ailuronymy blog, they described the prerequisites of a Robin- cat to be a patched cat, typically with ginger, brown and white being the pelt colors, so I wanted to ensure whether or not that pic matched the requirements x3

    I've actually got a question too ^.^
I'm going to make a character who is a dilute tortoiseshell, but I honestly have no idea what prefix could suit her apart from "morning" xD
