"Link Start." She murmured, voice soft but clear.
A soft whoosh of light, and suddenly she was at a blue, pixelated screen, staring at it almost like it was right in front of her. "Please state your name and class." A disembodied voice suddenly said.
"Sumiko Inoue. Archer." She had read up on classes beforehand, although she had forgotten that a username was needed; a lack of forest on her part. Frowning at her slip-up, she sighed and went on with it, unable to think up any other name at the moment. Another woosh of light and sound; she was in.
'Welcome to Death Battle Online.'

Sumiko "woke up" in an inn, resting on a bed. Perhaps it was just a beginner's perk, getting to start in an inn, or it was just a completely randomized detail. Glancing around, she saw a neatly but sparsely furnished room, with a small bathroom off to one side. The first thing she did was go into the bathroom to check out her features, scrutinizing her face and clambering on top of the toilet to see her height. "Not much height difference; they made my hair too short, though. And my bust..." She colored slightly, deciding that was enough gawping at herself. Making her way back into the main room, she grabbed a roll and an apple that had been sitting on a small table. Close to the door was a simple wooden bow and a quiver of arrows, resting alongside a small coin pouch; all of which she grabbed. Trinity opened the door, the door across from her opening at the same time. She came face to face with a teenager -an actual player, if the purple floating above his head was any indication- that started then sneered at her, eyes raking her body with clear disgust and... Something else. Frowning at him, she merely brushed past him, nearly pausing when she felt him take a swipe at her. Ignoring it despite the anger swirling in her gut, she made her way downstairs into the general hubbub of the dining area.
Taking the apple from her inventory, Sumiko gazed around the area, reveling in how lifelike the NPCs looked. Her eyes landed on a single player, sitting alone in the dinn. She had a small scowl on her face, and Sumiko could 't help but want to reach out to her, partly for some companionship in this wildness and partly because she couldn't help but want to help people, no matter if they wanted it or needed it. That brought up a lot of problems whenever she saw a stray animal, always wanting to take them and nurse them back to health, but growing too detached to let them go.
Smoothly sidling into a seat across from Aurora, Sumiko gave the girl a kind smile, reaching a hand across the table for a handshake. "Hi there. I couldn't help but notice that you're a player basically alone in an inn full of NPCs(the guy from before she ignored completely). I'm sorry to bother you and all, if I am; but it's, ah, it's a pleasure to meet you, I guess." Sumiko inwardly winced; that was one of the most abrupt and lackluster hello's she'd ever given. And she wasn't even sure if this girl would even accept her handshake or not.
