"I don't like closed doors."117-Female | Wolf | Homeless | Unknown-None | tags; rose────────────────────────────────────xxxxxxxxshe glanced up at the horse before looking back at rose as she explained her current situation with her house...and storage. she hardly even knew the difference between the two buildings...the house could be a much bigger storage for...for whatever she stored in there. she would be genuinely surprised to find out that it was something dark and mysterious. but it could be something boring and wouldn't be much use to her.
she looked over at the cottage-like building, staring at it for a good minute, heavily judging it once again. "I'm surprised it's still standing...I haven't seen a building like that in years," the she-wolf turned her head back at rose, "do you know what year it was build in?...because i know that you have better taste than that." hey, it was a bit rude, but the truth hurts, doesn't it?
but hey, look at her having a...somewhat...normal conversation with her fiend- er...friend. Why was this? Maybe the offer of something to eat was the cause of her change of tune...for now. but from now on, it was time to play along as good little puppy...and figure out a plan to pull the wool over both of their eyes. she absolutely hated planning, but she kinda didn't know what she was dealing with. she knew she was dealing with a horse and a human. who knows? maybe in the meantime she could open up a little to rose, get her to trust the wolf.
she didn't say that it would work- but it was a bit of a possibility.
And there was also the possibility of a price- or a deal in this case...however, the deal was more of a threat. rose's body language said it all if the threat didn't come clear to her the first time. she was very familiar with.
It didn't take too long for her to respond to rose's threat, "alright miss rose, you have yourself a little deal- i will not bring harm to you or your guard..." she paused and looked up at the horse. was she really going to call this thing a dog? "...dog." everest sat down, turning her attention back to rose, straightening up her back to appear taller. what? sure, she was a murderous creature of the night (and day), but at least she remembered to keep good posture so she didn't end up with back problems. (yet she still had them. she's fine. she will live).
when the topic of food presented itself again, she turned her head a little, thinking on what she could possibly want. although cooked food seemed ideal- but she was sure that rose wanted to return to her knight as soon as she left. she couldn't blame her. who would even leave their steed alone with a horse?
"i will be fine with either or, i'm not much a picky eater like i was before," she wasn't very picky actually, she just didn't want to eat whatever was offered to her. one time one of the kids offered her some kind of pudding that had meat chunks in it. someone was repulsed by it as so was she. it was horrendous. "...but whatever is easier and quicker for you."
being nice was absolutely killing her. she wondered how long she could pull off this façade. but as for now, she knew that the horse had to go down first. the thing to figure out was how to bring the horse down all by herself...
only time will tell.

acilier R. 𝔏ysandre- "This has to be the work of Satan"29-Male | Vampire | Butler | hetero-None | tags; xxx ─────────────────────────────────────xxxxxxxxfal sighed in relief as the kid was going to do what he was told- which was a good thing, right? well, he wasn't going to chase him down to make sure that he does his job. no- he has other things to do. maybe he should go find lemarc and ask what nicho was scheduled to do today...actually, no, scratch that. he'd rather not talk to him at the moment- not with this migraine. he moved his head up to his forehead and walked all the way back to his room. was he going to rest?
he wished.
instead, he entered his room, looking around for a brief moment. it took him a moment to remember that he had allowed mary to go out in town- if he wished. and apparently he did leave. that would explain on why nightshade was missing from his post. (an empty (but clean) tea cup that fal didn't want to touch- as the queen had claimed it as his own. for a resting place for his second-in-command).
facilier looked around once again, drawing a blank. what was he doing in here again? he walked further into his room and stood near his desk, flipping through the papers that crowded his desk. he paused. no- nothing that he wanted wasn't in the stack of papers. he looked around and decided to open the first drawer of three, pawing through the organized mess until he found what he was looking for: painkillers. now why did he have them there? well because he doubted that the manor had any around. besides, he didn't want anyone to question him. he replaced the bottle back into the mess and searched the drawers for anything to wash them down. ah- nope. where did he put them?
he walked over towards his nightstand and decided to dig through there. hopefully mary didn't get ahold- aha! there they are. he grabbed a couple of blood tablets before shutting the drawer and walking out of his room. now time to get some water. but the kitchen was too far away- and there was no way he was using mop water...I mean- cat fur, really? so facilier decided to walk to the kitchen, grab a cup, fill it with water, ignore the fools in the kitchen (he didn't even question why there was a giant in the kitchen in the first place) before heading on out of the kitchen and back towards his room. he was uncomfortable using the blood tablets around others. why? he couldn't explain well enough on why he felt that way.
he shook his head and plopped the tablets into the water, watching them dissolve. how disappointing. he knew who else would be disappointed in him for using these things- but what will they do? come back from the dead and chastise him about it?...yeah, I thought so. Facilier dipped back into his room as he took the painkillers and washed them down with whatever this poor excuse of substituted blood was...it was almost like a diet. fake blood is better than human or other creature blood...but oh well, its better than nothing. besides, does it look like he has the time to go out and hunt? no.
fal would stay in his room until the migraine had subsided some before going out of his way to wash the cup and bring it back to the kitchen- along with a few dishes that he found. he washed them, before walking back out and onto the upstairs to start cleaning windows again.

"Ding-dong~ Wanna play with me?"11-Male | Human | Unknown | Ace-None | tags; Fran | ──────────────────────────────────────xxxxxxxxhe looked up when the game War was mentioned- or well, offered up on the table of what to play. when she ad asked if he knew, he couldn't help but grin, "of course i know war! it's one of my favorite card games!" mary then started to shuffle the cards- the way that his papa had taught him. his former way of shuffling the cards caused the corners to crease and sometimes the cards would even fall out of his hands.
besides, he also loved the sound.
maybe he should warn fran about the missing kings..nah, they'll be fine. it was common for cards to be missing from the deck, correct?
he looked up at her when she then started to explain the whole mental-age thing that he asked about. it made a little more sense now that he had asked for it to be explained to him...but he wasn't very satisfied by the answer that he got from her. maybe he'll ask his papa when he goes back to the manor. but since he didn't want to be rude, he nodded and thanked her for explaining it to him.
mary continued to shuffle the deck, glancing up at the demon when she told her story about the current queen situation. the news of fran's mother passing away upset him a little, even nightshade felt a little pity towards her. "oh i see, but it's neat that your sister is a queen and that you are a princess- it must be fun." even if she didn't hold the title or not, she was still on . or a countess or a duchess- or whatever the nobility status that they had down there.
he looked up when she talked about the different kingdoms. were they like his queendom- or much different? the answer was obvious but he didn't question it. instead, he gave a curt nod to acknowledge the conversation about the different kingdoms in the demon realm. he turned his head down to looked at the cards to count them. maybe he should ask fran to bring him to one of the kingdoms so he could see what it was like...or just...ask her about it. that could work too.
when he looked back up again, he jumped a little when he saw one of fran's tails. why was he surprised to see it again?
well, he wasn't used to it, that was all.
mary shook his head and tilted it to the side a little, "well, i know that now. plus i don't think papa has told me before- i don't know." he then looked back at the deck of cards, still shuffling them, pausing soon afterwards when he learned that fran had another form that she didn't mention. but instead of asking now, he'll ask a little later.
shuffling the cards once again, mary leaned back before dealing them out between the two of them, a small frown visible on his face as he did so. he was concentrating to make sure that they got an even amount of cards. "by the way, there's no kings," he mumbled. there. he mentioned it. besides, would the kings be even useful to him? probably not. "maybe we can try asking my papa tonight...he is busy with work all day, but at night he always finds time with me." he shrugged a little and smiled, "and since it's at night, then it would be easier for the both of us."
after he finished with what he was saying, he dealt the last two cards, one for the each of them. he picked up the cards and straightened the stack before finally placing them back on the ground- face-down like they were supposed to be. he looked at fran and smiled, "do you want to start?"

*Aggressive Clicking Noises* "Lookie here- how queer-.."13-Female | Ghost Bat | Manor Animal | Unknown-None | tags; The Hopeless Gays────────────────────────────────────────────xxxxxxxxxxxxshe kept her gaze on lemarc, waiting for a reaction or a reply of some sort. but when she got none, she just simply looked down at the floor, her ears pinned back, a little disappointed- even though he didn't say anything, the disapproval was pretty clear. (or disappointment. one of those two. she wasn't the best at reading emotions- okay?). however, she perked up just a bit when lark said that they had the time to solve a riddle. what a good boy- maybe she could treat him with one of his stolen borrowed pens after this. stellaluna looked up at lemarc and then back at lark when given the a-ok to share a riddle.
right.
maybe she should've taken the time to think up a riddle rather than just staring at the reoccurring guest. but, she didn't have to think for too long as she shifted around, making sure that she could open the little watch's door with ease after they had solved her riddle. she had figured how the watch worked- almost. you would assume that fifty-seven riddles in, she would know how it would work? maybe you had forgotten about her fantastic memory.
stellaluna looked up at the two. what was now this feeling? it was almost like stage fright. why was this so? she never had felt like this when she shared riddles with larkin. her ears pinned back again as she decided to distract herself by opening the door of the watch, staring at the face.

the same question always remained the same: what would happen if it reached the end? she looked up at lemarc and then over at lark. maybe one of the two would know. if not, then she'll find out from someone. someday. somehow. she shook her head and snapped the door shut. time was ticking. she was wasting time and she painfully knew it. even though she was incapable of knowing time management, she knew that time given to her by someone like her pet was very important- and she was wasting it. stellaluna gave an apologetic look at lark. lemarc would also get one- but he wasn't the one who gave her the time to share a riddle, now was he? no.
so instead of wasting even more time, she got on with it. she cleared her tiny throat and looked up at the two:

"It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter."
after she spoke, she instantly flipped open the door and looked up at the two. and then back down at the face. she loved to watch as the counter went down when the riddle was solved correctly. did she herself know the answer? no she did not. not right off the bat at least. she would know if it was solved correctly- but if solved incorrectly, nothing would move and she would take even more time away from the two to figure out the answer. or, she could take up this time now, waiting for the two to figure it out. it was an odd riddle, even for herself, but she'll get the answer eventually.
