It was one of those days.
One of those days where it was raining.
One of those days when everything felt gloomy
One of those days where Alaska would stand on the ship, arms resting on the wheel, letting the rain fall on her.
One of those days where Bimbo would sit out on rocks just above the vastness of the ocean.

Alaska was looking up with her eyes closed, letting the raindrops drench her as they crashed harshly on everything that stopped their fall from the heavens.
Humming a simple melody softly. It wasn't exactly a sea shanty, but perhaps it could be made into one.
She was barely paying attention, but even then she felt exactly everything around her.
She was one with the rain and the rain was one with the sea.

So she looked down, opening her eyes.
And she turned right, evading multiple rocks coming from beneath the sea, threatening to harm her most prized possession, her boat.

Bimbo felt a ship pass by her resting spot swiftly.
Seemingly, whoever was piloting it didn't notice her, which made sense, being honest.
She was laying down, in a sea stump, in the middle of its rock formation.

She was almost asleep, yet the agile ship conductor caught her attention.
It was rare to see a boat this silent, even more a smooth moving one in the middle of what was soon to become a thunderstorm.
And hearing a tiny hum that sounded almost like a mermaid song coming from it? She had to go and see who this was, even if they'd end up fighting.

So she ever so slowly stood up, and stretched, letting out a big sigh.
And she turned to search the ship that passed behind her.

When she found it, she slowly swam in its direction, calmly.
She came in peace, out of curiosity.
She had always been more of a curious kraken than an aggressive one.

Once she got near the boat, she started climbing up it with her tentacles.
And she hopped to the deck,
Looked up at the captain,
And the captain looked at her.

Alaska's jaw opened slightly, as if she was about to say something, but couldn't.
And the reason she couldn't wasn't out of shock, but because she noticed how tired and calm this kraken looked like.
How serene it seemed, looking up at her with interest, noticeable behind her droopy eyes.

Yes, she could have been in danger, it could have been a trap.
But she felt oddly safe.
So she looked over to the sea, checking for any possible things she could crash on.
And let go of the wheel, slowly making her way to the deck.

As she got closer, she got more nervous.
Being up close made her notice just how stupid this idea was.
She didn't have anything on her apart from her sword.
And even then, the orange kraken was unmoving, simply following her with its eyes.

"What is it you desire, monster of the sea?" She spoke lowly.
The kraken smiled, stifling a laugh.
"I, 'monster of the sea', do not desire anything." Bimbo took a step forward, making the Seal flinch.
"I simply find you enjoyable." She said, getting closer to the seal with a grin on her face.

 
"…Enjoyable?" The seal tried to step back.

"Your voice.
Your silent company.
Your warmth."

The bigger one grabbed the captain's face gently.

"You." 

And Alaska –against all her rapidly running thoughts– relaxed.

"You like my company? I haven't been here very long." She said, taking the other's hand and moving it gently to release her from the grip on her jaw.

"You've been here long enough. 
I've never been one to travel around, but you've set down your ancla to rest near my own beloved places, and you've never bothered me. That isn't something I often get to see." She responded, cupping Alaska's cheek instead.

"What does this mean then?
Are you staying? I'm quite lonely by myself."

"Well, darling, if you insist." She moved away with a taunting smile.

They both knew they wanted each other to stay near.

And they did.

And soon the ship was no longer empty, for the captain had found someone to keep her company.
