Well... I tried. At least it's not ABSOLUTELY horrid for a first time online drawer.

if you click on lock alpha you can freely color in the base coat without getting over the lines ^^ this makes it way more easy to color something in =)
lock alpha restricts your drawing on the lines/colors of the current layer you work on ^^
so if you have lock alpha on and draw on the outlines you can color the whole outlines in different colors without fearing to color the whole pic
the same with base coat or shadeing ^^
that's how all the artists here have it easy with coloring in the base coat, outlines and shadeing of the adoptables to fit it to the new coloration =)
