- name: yuuki // gender: nonbinary (they/he) // entry for winter chicoon #100
- "Hello!" The snowball of a chicoon declared proudly, with a little flourish of its snowflake-shaped flame. Their smile was beaming as they emerged from the snow, and one couldn't help but feel like they'd have been bouncing on their heels if they weren't floating... "My name is Yuuki! It's lovely to meet someone else out here in this odd place." They chuckled fondly, "Mind if I walk with you for awhile? Or, well... float, I suppose."
> Deny.
> Accept.
"Delightful!" Yuuki proclaimed. They started after you on your path. "Where are you walking, anyway? It's not really ideal weather to be out in these conditions." They tilt their head to one side curiously, their teal eyes flitting with intrigue and whimsy, as if they were being freshly surprised by every moment of the conversation. Perhaps they didn't get to talk to others much, living this far out of the way... Wait, did they live here?
> Tell them about your trip.
> Ask them about theirs.
You tell Yuuki that your trip is just to get out of the house. A stroll, if you will. You insist that their story is probably much more interesting. You ask if they're from around here, and what they were doing sitting out in a snowbank in this kind of cold. They look at you with a note of puzzlement in their eyes before replying, "Oh, well for one I don't really get cold. I have a good coat for it, after all." They chuckle in a fond manner, their cheeks reddening a bit as they add, "And I do live out here, yes! There's a shrine not far from here that I tend to and rest in. I don't precisely know whose it was, but it's fallen totally out of use. It breaks my heart to see such lovely architecture neglected, though... and I imagine the deity who used to live there would be awfully sad to see their home in such a state. So I take care of it, and in exchange sleep inside where it's safe. Otherwise, though, I don't mind the cold much! Up here it's cold most of the year, so it doesn't bother me much. How do you feel about the cold?" They look at you with another wave of fresh curiosity.
> Tell them you prefer the summer.
> Tell them the cold never bothered you anyway.
You make a Frozen reference at them. They don't seem to get it, but they do parrot the song with a friendly chuckle. It seems like you're almost back home, though... You stop and they look at you with a puzzled gaze. "Oh, is this it?" They ask, glancing up at the roof, "It's a cute little house! If... you're here awhile, maybe we could go on another walk sometime?"
> Deny.
> Accept.
The little chicoon makes a pleased trill before floating off. You watch them go with curious eyes. You can't help but wonder about this naive shrine-going chicoon...
Maybe next time, you'll learn more.
and bc i couldn't not-- here's a humanoid design of them how i imagine them! >:3c
