Kat2000 wrote:Quick comment- synesthesia is actually a harmless disease. I have it. Its where parts of the brain communicate where they normally dont. I have a form of synesthesia where letters and words have colors, and textures. I also kind of see colorful swirls in my head when I listen to certain types of music. Where did you get the name for this?
great art though, I love it :3
Aw! Thank you so much! <8D
This is a good question. OwO
It's a pretty long explanation, so bear with me.
It all started when I was just forming this story in my head.
I had the characters, and the plot.
The things I was missing were a title name and names of the minor characters.
I was talking to my friend, Sobee, on skype. I told her that I saw numbers and letters with certain genders, personalities, and colors.
She quickly told me that she did the same thing, and she even made a chart to show me what she was talking about. I really wanted to know if other people besides us did this, and began looking stuff like this up in Google.
The closest thing I could find that related to what we were describing was synesthesia.
I thought the whole concept of this really interesting.
I remember reading that a lot of people have it (though some don’t know it) and that it comes in different forms.
Not only do I see numbers and letters with personalities, colors, and genders, but I see months with specific colors as well, and when I hear a word, I will think or taste a certain type of food. (I used to do it all the time when I was little, not so much anymore.)
But no one can really be sure what they have because there is such a huge variety.
I don’t think I have the music type though, like you have. ;w; If I rub my eyes, I can see colors and swirls and things like that, but that’s not synesthesia. That’s just me being stupid. :D
I’m not sure that I can say I have it though. I’m not sure if you need to be diagnosed with it, or after you find out the meaning of what you do, you just accept the fact that you have it. eue;
I do remember that any time that I would bring it up with my family, they’d have no idea what I was talking about, but a lot of my artist friends know exactly what I was talking about. Funny, right?
http://www.synesthesiatest.org/types-of-synesthesiaSorry for getting off topic a bit.
This harmless disease plays a big role in the story.
The black dog on the left, Clifford, used to have brown eyes when he was a puppy. Due to the bombing that went on, the harmful chemicals effected the air, turning his eyes red. After that, he began to have very strong experiences of Synesthesia. Certain words or phrases and sounds can have a drastic effect on him.
The scientists are also interested in this strange disease that is effecting people and animals, which is another reason why they were capturing them.
This comic is still in its prototype stage, so I’m still working out all the details.
Thank you for this wonderful question! :D
