I have a question.
What about stories like homestuck that involve EVERYTHING in existence?
How can a story like that branch out when that story has everything in it and its creation would therefore affect every other splinter universe

It creates a completely large and separate branch from the beginning of Hussie's plot, to the end, creating all neccessary branches required to meet the concepts presented.
Concepts like this aren't uncommon, and large convoluted shoots happen regularly.

It will make a completely different universe in which that actually happens, but will not actually effect that particular universe.
So you imagine that happening, and therefore actually believe that your thought WILL cause that to happen.
Therefore, in another universe, upon imagining this, your new 'twin' is also imagining this, therefore creating a universe where it IS quite possible to summon said person through your thoughts alone. It wouldn't, however, actually happen in the first universe because it is quite impossible for this to occur.
I mean, you can't immediately summon a Homestuck character to you at this moment by simply imagining it, but, in theory, the moment you attempt this, it becomes possible elsewhere.

oh ok so 2 other universes branch out.
what if master imagined himself a thousand times or something, went and found himself in the other universes, and created a flipping army of himself?

Cutters are a universal constants, and don't apply to the usual rules.
Full fledged cutters are incapable of creating new universes, and cannot appear again IN a new universe once they are fully grown.
It's like they themselves are cut off from the complete rules.

On page 14 it says they're called Trimmers but then you go on calling them Cutters o.o

Trimmers is more of an 'easy' name on something.
Cutter is the 'official' title, but it can actually be called many different things.

So if they cut off a universe at the end of the story like when the big villain is defeated and then they live happily ever after, what if in one universe their are multiple planets with multiple different big stories going on at the same time, and on one planet the story is finished and they are living happily ever after but on the other planet the story isn't finished yet so while one big ol story is now happily ever after but the other story is still going on so they can't necessarily cut that off because it isn't completely finished yet?
