Dawncloud
The she-cat thought she might heard a slight stir, but before she could process, she was knocked over and on her side. Dawncloud flicked her tail as she finally reopened her eyes. "There you go," she wheezed. Her breath had been knocked from her, but she continued to talk. She stood up on her tiny paws and shook out her pelt. "Be that quiet when you hunt and you won't scare away prey anymore. Be aware of what's around your paws and for StarClan's sake, keep your tail off the ground," she added. "We can go hunt now; I won't follow you around. I'm sure the clan would appreciate some freshkill." Dawncloud gave her apprentice a friendly nudge and padded off in the direction of some thicker woods. She would try to look for prey there.
Dawncloud crouched on some tree roots after she had gone a ways and pricked her ears for any scratching or scampering sounds. She was just about to leave when a sparrow flitted down from a tree and began to peck at the ground. The dappled she-cat crept forward on silent paws until she was close enough to the bird to pounce. With one swift motion, she launched off her back legs and landed on the sparrow, killing it quite cleanly. Happy with her kill, she dug a shallow hole among the roots and covered it up. She would retrieve it later once she had caught something else. She once again padded off in search of prey.
Duskbreeze - open!
The dark-furred tom crouched at the edge of camp, his icy eyes almost closed and his fluffy tail curled neatly around his paws. He flicked his ears in annoyance as an apprentice scampered by, chatting away at another warrior who was happily tolerating her. He huffed and adjusted his feet. StarClan, keep her after him and away from me. He flattened ears pricked up as a sudden *thud!* caught his attention. The apprentice was now on the ground, her legs sprawled and her tail flailing. The warrior she was walking with stared in shock at the apprentice before flicking her with his tail and purring in amusement, a playful glint in his eye. The warrior gave her a gentle thwack with one of his huge white paws and the apprentice got back to her feet. They continued padding along, the silvery warrior still snickering and the apprentice still embarrassed and purring back at him. Duskbreeze stared for a moment longer in disbelief. What kind of mousebrains did this clan raise?
Raingaze and Cricketpaw - both are open!
Raingaze got up from his resting spot and stretched with a big yawn. He shook out his fur and began padding toward the freshkill pile. He looked over his broad shoulders to see Cricketpaw bouncing up to him. "Hi, Raingaze!" the apprentice bubbled. "Can I eat with you?" Cricketpaw knew Raingaze was a warm-hearted, friendly cat who wasn't above sharing tongues with younger cats and she hadn't made too many friends with the other apprentices yet. He appeared to be going to eat alone anyhow. Raingaze blinked in amusement, happy to have someone to tag along. He happily nodded and continued to trot to the pile. He listened to Cricketpaw chatter on about her training and about stories she heard. He was glad her mind wasn't troubled with thoughts about the explosion. Cricketpaw was just about to ask Raingaze a question, but as she turned to him, she felt one of her legs tangle around the other and she soon found her nose in the dirt. Raingaze jumped slightly at the unexpected movement and sound of the apprentice hitting the ground, but once he realized what had happened, he began to chuckle. Cricketpaw writhed in confusion and embarrassment for only a second before she sprang up again. "Y-you okay there, Cricketpaw?" Raingaze meowed in between laughs, his whiskers twitching in delight. Cricketpaw purred back, "Mmhm!" He gave her a lighthearted swat and continued their way to the freshkill pile. Each retrieved an item and walked back to a cozy corner of camp where they would be out of the way. Raingaze tucked into his vole and Cricketpaw hungrily crunched on a fat mouse.
(I'm not going to be mates with myself, but writing that made me high-key ship them XD)
