THE EXILE wrote:Word had spread around camp that Darkeye was killed when he went to investigate the yowl that had sounded outside of camp. Cats begin to look at each other after Darkeye’s body was brought in. A yowl sounded throughout the camp, and cats glanced over to High Rock, seeing their leader was there. “We all know why we are here, as we all can see Darkeye was murder in middle of the night,” Palestar mewoed as the clan quieted down. “So we need a new deputy and we have other ceremonies to attend to, even though we are grieving,” he meowed, eyes looking at Loonkit.
“Loonkit, please come forward,” he meowed. “Loonkit you have reached the age of 6 moons and are ready for apprenticeship,” he meowed. “From this day on you’ll be known as Loonpaw and your mentor will be Ravencloud,” the leader meowed, glancing down at the warrior name. “I hope Ravencloud will teach you everything he knows,” Palestar meowed. “Ravencloud, you have received excellent training from Darkeye, and have shown yourself to be protective and patient with our young,” he meowed. “You will be the mentor of Loonpaw and I expect you to pass on everything you know,” Palestar meowed, watching as the pair touched noses and went to join the crowd, as the clan cheered Loonpaw’s new name.
Once the cheering died down, the leader took a deep breath, “I say these words before StarClan so Darkeye can hear and approve of my choice,” Palestar started. “The new deputy of ThunderClan will be Gullstorm!” he announced, hearing the cheers of the clan congratulating the new deputy.
Waiting a few minutes, he signaled for silence. “I’m glad we have had many ceremonies, in spite of what has happened today,” he meowed. “But the patrol reported smelling a cat where Darkeye’s body was found, and it was ThunderClan scent,” the leader meowed. “I’m going to have Gullstorm collect votes and we will exile the cat with most votes,” he meowed, allowing the clans to tell the new deputy their vote. After a bit Gullstorm came back to Palestar and whispered the results to the leader. “Swiftstrike, you are herby exiled for the murder of Darkeye, please leave at once,” he meowed, tail flicking. Swiftstrike eyes widen in surprise. “But I was with Cottontail the whole time!” she defended herself, glancing at her sister. “I can say she was with me the whole time,” Cottontail informed the clan. “We were out in the same area as the patrol and went to investigate the yowl also, but we were to late to save Darkeye,” Cottontail informed the clan. Palestar hesitated, thinking for a bit. “You go with Swiftstrike then Cottontail,” he meowed, glancing at the clan. “The caln doesn’t trust Swiftstrike right now, and it’s safer for her to leave,” he meowed. “I’ll escort you two out personally,” the leader meowed, getting down for High rock and leading the two sisters out of camp.
“Go together and stay together,” Palestar meowed to the sister after they left camp. “Until this is over, stay safe and if we find the murder you will be welcomed back,” he told them. The two she-cats nodded as the reached the border and headed out of ThunderClan territory and to the barn where the loners stay. Palestar returned to camp and settled in for a silent vigil to grieve for Darkeye.
THE KILL wrote: A fewew nights had passed since Darkeye’s murder, and the clan was starting to belive it was accident. Once again, a yowl sounded throughout the camp as Palestar called another meeting. “It’s time for a new warrior to join our warrior ranks,” the leader meowed, glancing down at Pebblepaw. “I, Palestar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn,” he meowed. “ Pebblepaw do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life? “ he asked the apprentice.
Pebblepaw glanced up, excitement in her eyes. “I do,” she replied.
“Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name.” Palestar meowed, jumping down to meet the soon to be warrior in the middle of the gathering. “From this moment on you’ll be known as Pebbleseek and we welcome you as a full warrior to ThunderClan,” he meowed, resting his head on the apprentice as Pebble licked his shoulder before stepping away. “As tradition, Pebbleseek will guard the camp tonight during her silent vigil,” he meowed, after the cheers had died down. “Meeting is over, go back to what you were doing,” he meowed, before heading back to his den.
Pebbleseek glanced around as she settled into a spot for the night, ears flicking around as she waited for dawn to show. Yawning, she stretched, closing her eyes for movement. Suddenly, a twig snapped nearby and her eyes shot open. I’m up she thought, getting to her paws. I guess, I have to see what that was, she thought, heading towards where the sound was coming from. After following for a while, she let out a small yowl of pain as a snake bit here. Using a free paw, she tried to kill the snake, but it was too late the venom of the snake was already in her bloodstream. Realizing, she had fallen into a trap she started to limp back to camp, colloposing at the entrance of camp. I almost made it, at least I’m a warrior, she thought, her eyes dimming as the light left them, but she did notice a flash of white. Why didn't they save me? she thought to herself as she drifted to StarClan. The murder blink in shock. That works, they thought before heading back to their nest, and back to sleep for the night.
