OOC: Thank you for the compliments! I was lucky to snag her c: she used to be Horsy's own Equid but she gave her up in the wee early hours of the morning. I'm stoked about role playing her.

BIC:

Forest birds cooed pleasantly in the trees above. Suddenly a noise of shuffling underbrush and then the snap of a twig caused the birds to take flight in alarm. A grey hare raced across the forest floor with the sound of thundering hooves behind it. A young and healthy chestnut equid galloped behind the fleeing hare. The playful mare had startled the hare earlier and now charged after it purely for the thrill of testing her speed. Flecks of light that broke through the forest canopy made dappled sun spots on her sleek coat and caught the vibrance in her jade green eyes. The hare darted in a hairpin turn and then bounded across a clearing hoping to escape the mare hot on his furry paws. Maid Marian neglected to notice that she was galloping into claimed territory now. The hare, without knowing it, was leading her straight into herd lands.

"Ha ha," I snorted, feeling a little less nervous now, "Congrats on that and don't worry about it you'll be great." I said and touched his shoulder with my tail. I turned an ear back to listen to Canad tell Livius he could stay in the herd, I giggled as Livius bounced with joy. "Welcome." I said to him blinking slowly as I looked him up and down. Wow, very pretty coloring. I thought. I nodded as he spoke and shook my mane as a fly buzzed around. "Yes that does make sense doesn't it." I said quietly as Livius spoke. "You were very brave, by the way, Halo," I said looking back at him, "I'm not at all surprised that Canad made you second in command." I snorted and glanced at Livius, was he blushing or is it just me? I smiled at him, "So what was it like being a loner?" I asked, trying to make him less nervous.

Halo

Halo nodded quietly as Dolce spoke, smiling at her reassurance and compliment. "Thanks." he said cooly, pawing at a small plant just before he heard Livius' acceptance. "And welcome!" he shouted as an after thought, trying to be friendly to the new stallion. Livius seemed to have good intentions, so why not befriend him? A regular bunch of friends were one thing he hadn't had in a long time. With that in mind, he trotted off into the field where Canad was grazing, letting a relaxed snort as he munched some grass. He hadn't eaten anything since the great fiasco from earlier. About time he got to do something normal. Still chewing, Halo looked around, swiveling his ears thoughtfully as the wind ruffled his mane. His brow slowly furrowed as he listened, the equid quickly lifting his head to get a better view. He had this great feeling of anticipation as he scanned the field, but he didn't know why. He sure didn't see anything out of the ordinary, but instinct told him otherwise. That's when he caught a small sound. Not a scary sound, not in any way, but a highly familiar one. Hoof beats, and they weren't that far off. "Canad, do you hear that?" he asked the stallion, trotting about 10 yards toward the methodical sound of a running equid. His tail swishing excitedly, the equid watched as a hare appeared from the distant brush. It was being followed.

Livius nodded to Halo in reply to his welcoming comment and watched him meander away into the herd. As for Dolce, he glanced over at her and smiled a little. He felt more comfortable with her the longer he was near her; it was like the more exposure he had, the less likely he was to act befuddled.
"Well, being a loner is awfully nice if you aren't used to a herd. You get to do whatever you want, when you want. You can eat what you want, chase what you want, sleep where you want. There are some definite down-sides though," he added as he swished his tail to swat away a curious fly. "If you can't run and run with great skill, you're dead. Every mountain predator will try for you because there's only one of you and no one else to raise the alarm. There were a few times where...where I thought I was dead. I was certain that I'd never live to see any of my foals." Realizing how personal he was getting, he snorted and glanced back towards the herd, hoping to draw attention away from his mishap. "Those mountain lions...whew. I'll like having others to watch my back, that's for sure." He realized that Halo had focused intently on something far across the field and narrowed his eyes in that direction. "What do you think he's looking at, hmm?" he asked Dolce.

"oh, a mare... never seen her around here before!" he said, only briefly looking up, not too worried about a mare. generally, mares dont try to steal members of your herd. he smelled the air, with his head to the ground. she smelled fresh and airy.

Heartz with a burst of independence ran after the rabbit as soon as she saw it not noticing that the mare that was chasing it earlier. She bucked playfully enjoying this.

Famous snorted when Heartz ran past her after the rabbit.

"That sounds nice, but I don't think I'd last a day being a loner." I said and raised my head a little to see better, because I was shorter, and looked around. "Hm, I'm not sure." I said and followed his gaze and pricked my ears to listen. I tensed up, Was that foot steps? I thought nervously, It can't be more humans! I tried to stay calm in front of Livius but I couldn't help but tense up. I scented the air and sighed in relief. "Its just an equid." I said, more to comfort myself, and jumped a little as a chestnut coated, white brindled mare leaped from a bush and dashed after a hare. I grinned a little as she chased it, "Looks like this is loner equids being taken into herds day." I joked, not trying to be rude.

Livius noted how quickly Dolce appeared to grow still and unconsciously stepped a little closer to her, nearly brushing her side with his ribs. If there was one thing that the grullo stallion was quickly learning, it was how much the other Equids appeared to be comforted by the nearness of a herd-mate. It was such a new concept to him and he was enjoying every moment of figuring out how these little gestures appeared to convey more meaning than he had originally suspected.
"Yes, I think you're right, it's an Equid or some hooved creature," he murmured after flicking one ear aside to listen to her comment. He followed the path of the fleet-footed hare out of the undergrowth of the forest and raised his eyebrows. Huh. Chasing hares. Who would have thought? I can't think of a single hare I know that would put up with that! A breathy laugh escaped him. "If it is another loner, I think Canad might start thinking that someone is pranking him," he said with a big grin at Dolce.

I immediately glanced at Livius as he edged closer then looked quickly away and blushed, really Dolce? He was just moving! I scolded myself. I looked his way without moving my head to see if he noticed; I felt my checks burn more and felt my heart beat faster. Why am I actin like this? I thought in horror, I've never had anything like this happened to me. What does it mean? i thought of any possible solution but came up with nothing. I listened to him as he spoke and chuckled nervously when he grinned at me, "Yeah, it would be odd though," I said and glanced at him again. I tried to calm myself down but I couldn't seem to get my heart to stop racing, I panicked, "I'll see you around, and welcome to the herd again." I said and walked quickly away, stumbling once on my hoof, to my spot away from the others and only then my checks cooled and my heart was beating normal. I don't understand, why am I suddenly nervous and blushing? I thought ruefully, why is it when I finally notice a stallion glance at me for the first time since I've been in this herd, is when I start having these weird things happening to me? I couldn't place it, nothing like this has ever happened to me. I never noticed a stallion look at me and I've never felt nervous around another stallion. What's wrong with me?!

canad smiled as he saw a preety younger equid prancing afetr a hare, seemingly not noticing the herd. "ahem, hello?" he shouted, to be heard over the nickers of the herd members.
