Not knowing what to do, he tried burning out the fire with the surrounding dirt and sand. Of course that didn't work, for the grew bigger. Pure terror filled his glazed green eyes. She fire inched closer by the second.

The tom shook quite a lot now as they hid ... he could see from the blurred reflection of the water what was going on now - and the smell itself wasn't too hard to distinguish either. Bright flares of orange, yellow, white and red, danced across the wall of running water. He stayed close to Silverbreeze, hardly noticing the tom's tail wrapping around him protectively. He tried to stay low to the water, too nervous to really sit up much. The water where they hid also got slightly warmer, probably due to their not being much water and their body heat was heating it up, as well as the growing heat from the fire outside of their hiding spot.
