A dark mist came from the jewel Cadence was holding. "That's odd. Then again, they don't call it teh "Smokin' Jewel" for nuthin'." She lifted up the jewel up the sunlight. 'Yup. No light can pass through it too. I wonder why. Well, one down, several others to go." She then moved to the next shop. They also had a "Smoking Jewel". "Wow! It's amazin' how common these things are!" She bought the second one and went to another shop. "Might as well go in here and get another one," she commented. When she goes into the store she looks around for the jewel. "Hey, ya wouldn't have a "Smokin' Jewel, would ya?" The clerk frowned. "Nope. We don't have anything like that. Sorry," he sad sadly. Angered, Mon yelled. "Don't have a "Smokin' Jewel? Yes ya do! Ah seen it in here before! Now where is it?" The clerk answered with the same answer. "I'm sorry ma'am, but we never had a er . . "Smoking Jewel" in here before. Maybe you saw it in a shop close by?" Mon angrily ran out the shop. "They better be happy that Ah didn't set fire to the shop," she growls angrily. She looks at the sky. "On second though, never mind. Ah'm better off setting fire to the rain itself. . . "

Ruby gasped for breath. "Mon, I'm a Fallium I have this rune on my armour and I can learn how to do Dry Leaces. What if there are Yuppimin who don't have runes?" Her heart thudded in her chest, she already knew the answer to the question. She'd seen it too.

Mon glanced quickly at Ruby. She was a young-in, a pup. She didn't need to have ideas put into her head. "We'll, let's just say it ain't good. But don't ya worry your pretty little mind Ruby! Only first born Yuppimin don't have their Rune, and they get it days later," she finished. She didn't want to think about it either, but....why would Ruby bring such a thing up? "Er. . .Ruby. . .why do ya ask such a thing?"

She begins to roll on the floor with laughter. She couldn't believe Ruby would say such a thing! It was so silly . . .and yet, so . . .dark. "Listen Ruby. . .you shouldn't joke around like that. Dark stuff. Black Magic. Vodo. Losing your Rune. All in the same category. Don't mention it, okay?

Oh... OK. She tried hard to laugh valiantly along with Mon. It must have been a trick of the light. All Yuppimin have runes... Right? "So, what were you saying about a Smoking Jewel?"

She can feel the smoke from the jewel behind her back. She looked all around for a distraction. "What to do, what do to!?" She mumbled to herself. She needed to get out of this situation and fast. She quickly checked her bag and found that her other jewels were glowing. "Great . . .now she's gonna ask more questions. . ." she grumbled. She looked at Ruby again and smiled. "So . . .what were we talking about?"
