Whisperleaf sat down under the shade of a tree near the edge of camp. Soon she became sort of jittery from sitting still so long and she stood up and arched her back in a stretch. Maybe today I'll start talking again!

She argued with herself. She sighed and padded out of camp and towards the lake. Sitting down at the edge, she looked down at her distorted reflection in the water and liked thye way the waves lapped at the shore and made her look funny. She was not a perfect cat. She was no where near perfect. With a small smile, she splashed her paw into the water to break the image of herself. A tear slipped down her cheek and into the corner of her mouth. She closed her eyes and listened to every little sound of the forest. This was her home... There was no thinking of her past. Suddenly she felt very lonely. It seemed as if something had been drained from her then and there. It made her feel hollow inside. Who loved her? No one.. No one at all. She couldn't name one cat that did. Well, yeah, everyone talked to her, but that didn't mean they loved her or anything. She shook her head to clear her jumbled thoughts. Oh, please, someone come and talk to me... Comfort me... Be a friend. She thought, her brow furrowed in dismay.

The Javanese heard her whimper and soon gazed down at the reopened cut. He gave a yelp before meowing quickly to her, his blue eyes rounded again. "You alright? Do you need to lay down or anything?" Once again did his act of kindness to others returned to her as he worried once more. He guessed that his overreactions always accounted or he wouldn't be this concerned over her.
