Dragonstar greeted Poppywisp with a nod in return, trying not to look distracted. He was still thinking about what Beetlewood had said, but he knew it would have to wait until he returned. "You can come with me," he meowed to the ginger she-cat. "I'll have Wrenfoot lead the second one." He mewed greetings to Spindle and Spiritfeather, and waited a moment longer for the rest of the cats assigned to the patrol to gather at the entrance before raising his voice. "Good morning, WildClan. I'll be leading the southern patrol through the Woodland, as far as Sunningrocks. Poppywisp, Charmingpaw, Ravenscream, Feverpaw, Smokefeather, Spiritfeather, and...Spindle, you're coming too, yes? You come with me, too. Wrenfoot, I'd like you to lead the second patrol north, up to the Marshland. Take Sunflowerpaw, Rivercry, Fogpaw, Kestrelclaw, and Starlingpaw." He allowed a moment of silence for everyone to get settled into their respective patrols, before raising his tail and marching out of camp. "Move out!"

Kestrelclaw's eyes glittered with amusement, partially at his apprentice's eagerness and partially at her sister, who didn't seem quite so eager to spend time with both her siblings. He gave a small shake of his head. "I'm sorry, Starlingpaw, but Littlefoot has already assigned the patrols. We'll only be gone for a little while, and then you can spend as much time with your brother and sister together as you want, okay?" He gave her a good-natured headbutt. "Let's get going. The sooner we leave, the sooner we can get back." With that, he led the way out of the den and over to the camp entrance, ready to follow Wrenfoot.

Southwind angled his ears in Spindle's direction to acknowledge the tortoiseshell, before turning back to Littlefoot. "Yeah, I can see that. You look like a half-drowned rat," he laughed. Then, with a sly smirk and a glint in his eyes, he added in a low voice, "Maybe we ought to spar sometime after all and find out, huh?" He flicked her chin with his tail tip, but stepped away when the rest of their clanmates joined them for the patrol. "Well, I'm ready when all of you are."

Magpieflight rolled his eyes at Herbpaw's excitement, though secretly he was proud of him. Herbpaw was his very first apprentice; Magpieflight had been assigned his mentor when he was a brand new warrior himself, only 12 moons old, and now Herbpaw was about that same age. He was looking forward to seeing all of his hard work pay off. "Yes, yes, I know you have. I think I've worked even harder training you, but...yeah, you've worked pretty hard, too." He let his tail brush over Herbpaw's nose in a playful manner just as they joined Littlefoot and the others. "We're ready," he told her.

Brightsnow felt herself blush underneath her fur at the queen's invitation to eat with her. "S-sure," she mewed, unable to keep a purr from rising in her throat, and settled down beside Pigeonflight, just close enough for their pelts to brush. She took a small bite of the robin, then nudged it towards the pregnant she-cat. "So, um...how are the kits coming along? Do you have any idea when they'll arrive?" she asked curiously.

"Maybe," Wolffeather agreed, but if she was being honest she really didn't feel like going out today at all. She doubted it would stop storming anytime soon, and even if it did, it would still be all wet and muggy and gross out. "Bye, Poppywisp!" She waved to her former mentor with her tail before sighing and heading back to her nest. She was thinking of trying to go back to sleep when Ladybirdflutter limped back into the den, looking only slightly less uncomfortable than when she'd left a few minutes earlier. "Hey, Ladybirdflutter," she meowed to the she-cat. "How are you feeling?"

Cave monster? Hollypaw wondered where that name had come from, but didn't bother asking. Glancing behind her, she saw that, indeed, Iciclepaw was the only other apprentice left in the den, just as Slashpaw had said. All the other apprentices had been taken out by their mentors, leaving Hollypaw and Iciclepaw alone. She knew she could've woken the sleeping tom up, but why would she? She had already started one conversation that morning, and that was more than enough for her. With a small sigh, she headed back to her nest.

She did want to patrol with Starlingpaw, but she really, really didn't want to go with Magpieflight, and Kestrelclaw seemed to see that from her face. She breathed a small sigh of relief when her sister's mentor told her that patrols had already been assigned, only a moment before Foxcloud padded in to get her. "We'll hang out later," she promised Starlingpaw, giving her sister a lick on the ear before padding after her mentor. "Coming, Foxcloud!"
