:: Carnivale ::
It was one of those mornings where the air was full of soft moisture and warm enough to feel like velvet as it brushed across her striking pelt. Carnivale blinked in the rising sunlight that was slowly creeping over the land, gilding everything with its yellow color. She took a deep breath, savoring the scents of cool dew and the more familiar, comforting smells of her herd-mates. She couldn't see everyone as she turned her head to scan the wide plains, but she knew they were nearby. No one would wander as long as Rage, the lead stallion, was watching. Her deep-maroon eyes shifted over to Hari, her herd-mate and constant shadow, whether she liked it or not. He was asleep, ears twitching as he dreamed. She hoped that as he grew more comfortable with himself and with his herd-mates, he would quit following her. The shredded banners of the ribbons tied about her horns fluttered in a sleek wind that whipped by, making the grasses ripple like waves. Carnivale smiled. It was Nirvana here.
:: Hari ::
Hari was deep within his dream while the other began to stir. His ears twitched and he shifted, groaning softly as he ran and ran. The predator was hot on his heels, snapping at the pale banner of his tail and scaring him further into the murky depths of the dream forest. Hari was normally in control of his dreams, but this one seemed beyond saving. The more he ran, the closer the meat-eater got. Hari dove around a corner and all of the sudden, the ground fell from beneath his feet. He had time for a choked yell before he fell into a dark pit.
"WHAAAAA!!!" The scream left his throat unconsciously as he flailed awake, amber eyes wide and chest heaving.
"Only a dream...only a dream..." he breathed, feeling very foolish all of the sudden.
