Jacqueline walked through the camp, a tight bundle locked between her jaws. She had been out collecting herbs to stock up before winter broke out. She had begun work on an older den, improving it to hold her supplies. The dirt still hung under her claws, causing discomfort as she walked. She ignored the rest of the wolves, focused on her work. She had a very important job, and she didn't need any distractions. She could rest during the summer, but she had to be prepared for a deadly winter.

{I have Jacqueline open for anyone who needs to interact.}

Konan turned to face Aimeé, though nothing more than a sideways glance, when she touched her shoulder to his, a bemused expression on his features. "Yes, of course, Aimeé." He replied. His gaze shifted back to the other brutes, mainly Jay, his ears flickering softly.

The fae felt somewhat awkward in the silence. It felt tense. She racked her brain for ideas or things to say. "Lovely night, huh?" She said mischievously. Something was laced in her voice, a foreshadowing. The fae sprung ahead, cutting loose and being herself for the first time in months. She turned back to the brute Konan. Her head lowered to the ground, her white rump swimming in the air. Her tail was wagging as she play bowed, shaking her butt slightly. Her eyes held daring in them, daring the brute to play. They weren't pups, or even the youngest of wolves, but Aimée needed to have some fun. Tonight seemed perfect.

"What's that supposed to mean?" The brute laughed aloud when Aimeé jumped away from them, soon going down on her forepaws as an invitation to play. A grin pulled at his lips as he too, play bowed, before leaping and pinning the alpha. He chuckled, grinning, letting the cool of the night in through his fur. "Gotcha." He said with a smile, glancing down at the white she-wolf beneath him, momentarily forgetting about the others.

The fae laughed as she was pinned. She took her paw and raised herself up to his face, her lips near his ear. "For now." She wiggled and was freeing herself, the small alpha able to slip away. She playfully tackled him back, though she rolled off and was left laying on her back, a wide smile on her face. "You got me," she chuckled, her eyes searching for him as she lay there, a slight pant in her breath. She hadn't played in so long she had nearly forgotten. Turning her head, she gently nipped at his shoulder.

His scent seemed to leave an easily recognizable trail for Sol to follow, and he was sure it would not be long that both brutes returned, if all was well.
Presently he turned to the dark fae once more, his breath returning. The chill in the air suggested the bringing of the nightly temperatures, which, even in this season, were regretfully dispiriting. He'd never quite adapted to the harsh elements of Alaska, having come from further South. There, winter was much less unpleasant.
Narrowing his eyes, the brute seemed to ward of the wind that had begun to increase in its intensity over the last few hours. Due to its spontaneous nature, and partly to the exhilaration of the hunt, he'd barely noticed it before.
Its effects were growing on him.
He'd decided to try talking to Tenshi and break the barrier of silence between them, like a thin film. It would distract his mind for a bit.
". . .We never had such weather at home," he remarked casually, though the context at best was random, as another gust passed between them, before dying down. His brown eyes flicked to her, edged with curiosity. "Are you also from the South? I'd almost guessed otherwise, considering your hunting techniques."

Rising onto my feet, I was left with nothing to
do but accept these inexplicable truths as my last source of comfort.

I wasn't dead. At least, I didn't think so. I don't remember how I got here, or why I came. I could possibly be dreaming, I suppose; that would explain the terribly strange occurrences that haunt every footstep taken in this place. The land itself is disorienting; the scents are dull and I'm beginning to forget things, like my name.
Rylan.
I hadn't lost it yet, the way I have already lost myself, and I can't seem to find a way home. Home. I need to go back, but somehow the task seems impossible. I don't even know which way to walk. I'm tired. And alone. And wet.
But I'm not afraid.

Konan started in weak surprise when Aimeé slid out from under his paws. He laughed joyously as he watched Aimeé slip away, before tackling him for payback. He grinned as she rolled off him, and his chest heaved as a slight pant made its way up through his laughter. Instead of getting up, Konan just lay there, gazing at Aimeé as she gently nipped his shoulder. With a smile, he licked her cheek, before giving it a soft nip in return. All the while, the smile never left his face.

Tenshi looked up from the bull as Roland spoke. When he finished, she opened her maw to speak but stopped. She didn't really know where she came from. Her parents never told her and she never knew which way was which when she travelled. But she thought something up quick and replied, "Uh, yes, the South.." she paused, "My hunting techniques are unique, yes. I taught myself how to do them since my parents died before they could teach me.." Tenshi went quiet as she spoke of her parents. Remembering how they died right before her eyes. The Gray had taken them from her. She was left alone to fend for herself. No brothers or sisters to keep her company. A small tear formed in her right eye and slowly crawled down her cheek. Once she realized, she lifted a paw to wipe it away and turned her head so Roland wouldn't see. Her eyes seemed dull and listless. Her tail went limp and just drooped behind her. Tenshi no! Stop thinking about it! Roland will probably think you're weak for crying over the past. Toughen up! a voice screamed at her in her head. Tenshi shook herself and took in a deep breath. Once she calmed herself down and removed the sadness from her eyes, she once again looked back up at Roland. Her eyes searched his face for any signs of him thinking she was weak for tearing up over her parents. Tenshi was a paranoid fae. Thinking up insane things and thinking others think less of her because of her shyness and silence. Why? She did not know.
"Lamb, tell me a story."
"There once was a pale man with dark hair who was very lonely."
"Why was it lonely?"
"All things must meet this man, so they shunned him."
"Did he chase them all?"
"He took an axe and split himself in two. Right. Down. The middle."
"So he would always have a friend?"
"So he would always have a friend."

The alpha's face quickly became somber and her smile faded once the brute licked her. She couldn't remember the last time a brute had licked her on the cheek. A small, sweet smile crossed her face and her eyes relaxed in bliss. She gently closed them, and leaned to lick his cheek back. Her tongue was soft and gentile. Her eyes opened slowly as she pulled back with a smirk, the stars having witnessed it all. Her face was red hot, and her white cheeks slightly pink in blush. She slowly moved her head over, it barely tucked in the crook of his neck. "Hey." She whispered softly.

Konan watched the smile fade hesitantly. Had he done something wrong? This, however, was not the case, as he watched with a smile as a blush steadily rose on Aimeé's cheeks. Konan noted with a small smile as Aimeé fitted her head into the hollow of his throat, warmth eminating from her. He smiled. "Hey."
