Jake Brenden Soul
Live Fast and Die Hard

Jake shrugged slightly when Bree asked how he was doing, "Not bad, oh and thanks for waking me up again." He said as he turned to watch her dig through the cabinet, he wasn't quite sure what she was looking for but he didn't bother asking. He took another bite of his apple which was now almost gone, he cursed himself for having a big mouth. He looked at what was left of his apple and considered if he could make a bomb out of it, he laughed quietly to himself before shaking his head and taking one last bite of his apple.

Once he had thrown away the apple core Bree tossed him a granola bar, he looked up at her and smiled. She seemed to know him too well sometimes, but he was grateful for it, he needed a partner like that. He saw Bree then look at the door, he could see that she wanted to get going. He then nodded when she asked if he cared to walk down to the missions room. "Sure." He said as he went over to the door and held it open for Bree, once she had gone through they walked down the corridor towards the mission room. "What squad do you think that we will be in?" He asked, he was excited to find out and know who else was in their squad. This was like the first day of being here all over again, only less intense.

((Got to go, see you guys tomorrow :) ))

Adeline's eyes flickered open, darkness and warmth fading from them like dreams from her thoughts. She lay on her back for a brief minute, listening to the patter of rain on the window next to her bed. The light brown blinds were closed, but she could hear the tapping; it sang and danced, made her want to crawl back under the downy covers and ignore every introduction, new face, and awkward moment that was going to happen once she admitted to herself that hiding wasn't an option. Denial was so very tempting. Taking a deep breath, she sat up and pushed the covers down to her waist, glaring at the gray flannel pajamas she had borrowed from the Academy upon her arrival two weeks earlier. They'd given her time to adjust, meet new people, but all she'd really done was stay in her apartment and take steamy bubble baths, over and over again. The water bill was probably sky high, but warm water was a such a novelty that she really didn't care. Besides, any names she'd learned had vanished from memory, anyways.

Finally, too cold not to do something, Addie swung her legs over the edge of the bed and into her fluffy new slippers, another curtesy of the Academy. She crossed the room to the dark mahogany dresser that inhabited the space between the door frame and an old chair with velvety cushions. The chair looked out of place in the fairly modern-styled room, but it was a comfort- so did she. In the dresser, there was a colorful assortment of presumably fashionable clothes: shirts, skirts, jeans in a rainbow of dyes, scarves and jackets. Adeline pulled out some dark-washed skinny jeans and paired them with a white oversize shirt that had little forest-green birds printed on it. Out of necessity she also took a light purple scarf and red jacket with a fur-lined hood.

The only thing she knew how to cook in the kitchen was ramen noodles-bleh- so, being the thief that she was, Adeline raided the fridge and pantry, found her meager stock already half gone in the two weeks she'd been using it, and subjected herself to a rice cake with cinnamon on top. Not particularly healthy, but she was too nervous to eat anymore than the bland breakfast she had.

Teeth and hair brushed, makeup applied and several minutes in front of the sink with the hot water running on her hands wasted, Adeline was headed out the door. The silver clock on her wall had read about six fifty, as near as she could guess- it had litle lines where the numbers are, in favor of a modern theme than practicality. As she walked down the high-ceilinged hallways in the old castle, she tried to remember the way to the Mission Room, tracing the map she had been given in her mind. The map was sitting on her desk know, where she'd left it the night before in an attempt to get herself to remember to take it. Adeline was about to consider going back to her room when she came across two big double doors that said "Mission Room" on the wall next to them in small, stiff looking gold letters.

" This must be it," she said out loud, just to confirm to herself that she actually wanted to go into that room full of people. Her feet made the decision for her, and Adeline found herself staring at an eye scanner, then walking into a gigantic room full of chairs, some chairs full with a person. At the front of the room was a huge screen that had pictures of faces next to lettering, probably the faces were students, she couldn't tell from where she was standing. Adeline walked down an aisle and sat in one of the back row.

Bree shrugged ligtly, brushing off his thank you. It was her daily routine and she would never change it. smiled and mumbled a thank you. She walked through the door and into the hallway with him. In her back pocket she had the bottle of orange juice that she would drink later on. Orange juice was always her favourite drink and she bought cases of the mini bottles at a time so she would never run out of her 'booster juice'. "I honestly don't know." she said looking up at him.

Unwrapping her granola bar, she took a bite of it and chewed quickly. She matched his pace as they headed down the hallway and towards the mission room. After a couple of minutes, she tucked away the wrapper of her granola bar that she had devoured. She had a slight bounce in her step which made her look like she was skipping just a little. She was very excited to get their squad. It meant she would get to work with more and more teens. Silently, she wondered if she would be in the same squad as Zero, her friend. Zero and her got along pretty well since they were a lot a like. It would be nice to be in the same squad as her friend since they would get to work even closer than they usually do.

"here we are." she chimed happily as they approached the enterance. She leaned over and held her eyes open wide as the machine scanned her eye. After the door slid open and she drew away from the eye scanner. Blinking quickly, she moaned a little. "The scanning always hurts my eyes." she complained and lead him through the door, glancing around the group of seats. She saw a few familliar faces. Her eyes found Zero and she smiled a litttle bit wider. She felt like waving, but didn't. "Let's go find our seats." she told him and began to look for their index cards that had their names on it.

Hello everyone! I am back for the summer since I have nothing to do over the span of my two month summer vacation!
I am searching for some semi-lit roleplays to take part in to keep me amused over the time. I won't be on every single waking moment although (like I used to) because I do have a little bit of a social life this summer (surprise, surprise!).

Adrián River Duran

mission room / explosives
& firearms / single / no crush
Adrián woke up to the sound of rain hitting his window. How long had that been going on? He slowly raised up until he could see the rain as it fell, the sky a grey color and his room dimly lit thanks to the lack of sun. Normally Adrián was a light sleeper. Really, cut the light on and he's wide awake. But rain was always a different story, and he'd take a rainy grey day over a bright and sunny one. Refocusing his thoughts, one glance at the clock was all he needed to get up and get going. Not that the guy was late. Being late was like procrastinating, and he hated both with a passion. Thinking about it made him laugh, actually. Adrián pulled off the clothes he'd gone to sleep in and stepped into the shower. It was really going to suck, getting out and having to feel that cooler air hit you. He raised an eyebrow as he rinsed himself off. Guess cool air was better than a bullet, huh? Adrián laughed sarcastically at his own joke, knowing both were just part of his job. He got out and wrapped a towel around himself.

Putting out clothes was never something Adrián did, but times like this made it sound like a good idea. He was standing in front of his closet, drying off and scanning the space with his eyes. He thoughtlessly pulled down a grey shirt and jeans, spotting his black Nike's near the door somewhere. He'd have to get out and go running sometime. The random thought gave way for more, like food. I could really mess up some pizza right now he thought to himself, suddenly starving now. He half hopped, half pulled on his pants as he made his way to the kitchen. First cabinet; empty. Second; empty. Third; cereal! Adrián couldn't help but feel some sort of accomplishment as he pulled down a box of plain Cheerio's. He opened up the box and poured some into his mouth, walking around. The guy couldn't stand just sitting there and eating it out of a bowl. The cool air of the fridge hit his bare chest and made him shiver a little. Couldn't stop him from finding what he wanted, though - a bottle of water. Water in one hand, cereal box in the other, he closed the fridge with his foot and walked back over to where he'd set out the rest of his clothes. A moment later he was fully dressed and tossing cheerio's in the air, catching some with his mouth and wondering where the heck the rest of them went. Great. Now I have to vacuum. Adrián put the box down, along with his almost finished water.

It only took a few minutes to get to the mission room. He waited rather reluctantly as his eye was scanned and the door opened for him to go on in. He recognized pretty much everyone in the room, whether or not he'd spoken to them, and found his Identification card on a lit up screen. One among many. And from what it looked like, he wasn't close to being the first to arrive. Everyone had found a seat and seemed to be keeping to themselves. For what? Adrián didn't know. Now, he wasn't the friendliest guy - didn't being a solo explain that? - but this just looked kind of sad.

"I see everyone is feeling particularly anti-social today," he grinned, speaking to no one in particular, but loud enough for everyone to hear him. Well, that didn't seem to apply to two people, a guy and a girl, chatting away while everyone else was lost in their own worlds. Adrián walked up, finding a seat in the second row and propping his feet up onto the chair in front of him. What to do now? He wasn't a fan of waiting for things he knew nothing about, and this was why he couldn't stand relying on other people. You had to wait for them. "* no es gran cosa," he said more quietly, somewhat to himself. There weren't many more people to go. His hands drummed against his legs as he tried to give himself something to do.

* It's no big deal
School's here. I have slow responses, sorry about that.
Trying to focus on one or two rps at a time.

-Taylor-

Taylor yawned as she woke up to the pitter patter of the rain on the window, blurring the view of the world outside. She blinked twice before looking over at her alarm clock, it was 6:25 in the morning. She got up, shutting the alarm off before heading into the bathroom, grabbing her soft bristle toothbrush, working away at the plaque that had seemed to have grown overnight with her minty toothpaste. No need to take a shower now. She was the kind of person who would take showers at night whenever possible, and she had taken one the night before. Was she excited for new partners and squads? Absolutely not. Did it have to be done? Positively. Her mind played over the many pairings and squad teams there would be.

As she spit into the sink, she rinsed her toothbrush off, rinsing any remaining spit down the drain. She sat the toothbrush back in it's holder before looking into the mirror. "God. That is a mess." she said to herself, noticing how her golden blonde hair was all over the place, not it's normal, straight, self. She reached for her brush and simply brushed her hair, as she brushed she walked into her bedroom, looking at the clock. It was 6:33. She had plenty of time to grab a simple granola bar or something of the sort and get dressed and get down to the mission room on time. Though, perhaps she'd skip the step of getting something to eat, she rarely ate breakfast anyways, unless it was a good meal, which she didn't exactly have time to do.

As she walked into the closet, she pulled on a plain grey tshirt before putting a dark grey hoodie ontop, slipping on a pair of blue athletic shorts before pulling on her white socks and her black, low-tops Chuck Taylors, or Converse, whatever you'd prefer to call them. She exited her room, heading down to the mission room, her step steady and light. As she stood infront of the door, the scanner scanned her eye before allowing the door to open, therefore allowing her to enter. As she entered, she noticed other's sitting down, so she sat down as well, keeping a fair amount of space between herself and the others. It was almost time for it all to begin. She looked up, seeing her identification card on the screen. She soon relaxed and looked around, though, mostly looking down at her hands as she played with them.

Clearly no one seemed to want to take part in a normal conversation, which didn't particularly bother Alex. It was just how it was. It wasn't like she was eager to start a talk with these strangers. One after another people filed in. There were two boys that came first. One of them was somewhat recognizable -- mostly because his hair was long and blonde. It was a novelty, like Alex's. You just didn't see it every day.

Eventually one of the people decided to sit in the same row as Alex. It was a brown haired girl that Alex didn't particularly remember from anywhere. It was somewhat annoying, since all Alex could do was watch her with her own peripherals, but at least everyone else sat in front of her.

The constantly blinking lights were infuriating, though. Alex kept shooting furtive glances up at the screen to see if she could identify any of the other people, but in the end all she did was analyze how they acted. There was a pair that was already clearly acquainted, which upset Alex a little only because they had each other's backs, already. It was a disadvantage for Alex. Something that she didn't like. But what was she supposed to do? God, sometimes these people ...

As the next guy came in and commented about the lack of conversation, Alex threw up a hand in a "dude, whatever, man" kind of gesture. It was offhand, casual, and noncommittal, clearly showing that it wasn't like anyone was going to start speaking, soon. Another blink of the lights, and off he went to a seat in front of Alex. Cool stuff.

Eventually another girl ambled in, and the lights shut off once more. Oh, my God I'm going to kill something, Alex thought to herself. She hoped everyone was here already. It was nearly seven and she definitely wasn't in the mood to wait any longer.

No es gran cosa, the boy had heard someone mention to themselves. They sat a row back from Bentley, maybe a chair or so to the side of him. "No es gran cosa, pero un dolor en el c***," (it's not a big deal, but a pain in my a**) the boy mumbled in reply, once again having to disagree just for the sake of disagreeing. If anyone was eavesdropping, they could probably understand the two of them clear as day. As an assassin, you were fluent in at least the eleven main languages; Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi-Urdu, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Italian. Anything beyond those were done in your spare time, if you so wished to complete them, anyway. They would probably come in handy in one out of a million missions, but Bent was too lazy to worry himself over any other languages.

Bentley had quit turning around as more and more people began to make their way into the mission room. He knew there were 9 people to have joined since the blue haired girl had entered, meaning they were all still waiting on one more person. He had simply counted the times the lights turned off with another persons' arrival, so simple a tactic a five year old could have thought of it. ’How bothersome…’ he couldn’t help but think. If that one person could just get here already, Bent’s eyes could stop having to readjust to the changing lights. He was growing impatient, as he normally did when working with squads, but he kept all traces of his inner struggle at bay. He appeared as calm and unconcerned as ever.

The brunette had finally finished his apple, but the sound of crunching and cracking of biting into an apple still echoed around him. It seemed he wasn’t the only one snacking on the forbidden fruit this morning. Spotting a garbage can across the room, the boy straightened up and chucked the core of his breakfast into the can with little effort. Straightened up, Bentley turned his head to the side to look at the seats scattered with assassins. Most were familiar faces, some more familiar than not he realized as he spotted Lidia. From the looks of things, this would be a decent squad make-up. Satisfied, the assassin slumped back into his chair, twining his fingers behind his head. With a relaxed sigh, Bentley pushed his hands up, adjusting his snapback over his eyes. At this rate he may as well catch a wink of sleep.

        E l i j a h . S m i t h

            E
li glared at the black alarm clock on the dark wooded nightstand. It's green LED lights flashed, accompanied by an extremely annoying beeping noise. He dragged his hand slowly from under his warm comforter, protesting against himself all the way. While his brain said Sleep! Sleep mooooore!, his, well, brain commanded him to get up. Eli finally agreed with sleeping five more minutes. He poked the button on the alarm-clock that read Snooze. Nope. Of course not. He didn't know why he kept trying to poke a snooze button that wasn't there. Eli smacked the top of the beeping mechanism impatiently, his hand finally connecting with its Shut up button. Elijah rolled over onto his back, and watched the ceiling as it expecting it to move. Nervously, he glanced at the doors in his room. Every single one was shut and locked from the night before, but he knew people could pick locks. H***, he could! He may not be the best at it, but he knows how to get it done.

Elijah eased himself out of bed, itching his chest. Startled, he looked down. "What?" He asked himself. "Where's my shirt?" He patted his chest questioningly, while searching for a shirt he knew he had worn to bed. He shook his head quickly and lightly as he ran his hands under the soft bedspread. His hand connected with a fabric that didn't feel like it belonged. Yanking on it, he pulled it up close to his face, laughing quietly. "Really? How did you come off?" He threw it in a corner temporarily, and contemplated going back to bed or not. Glancing at the clock, he jumped sky-high. Six Fifty four! The meeting is at Seven!

The assassin rubbed his head stressfully. There went breakfast he thought. Glancing down at himself, he realized he was a disaster, and cleaning himself up would be very difficult. Especially on such a short notice. No, he didn't blame the clock. He blamed his own lazy self for sleeping in. Smacking his head furtively, he rustled through his drawers, finding a pair of socks. He rolled his eyes before moving on. Eli yanked a shirt and jeans from the closet hastily, exchanging them for the ones he wore.

He rushed to the bathroom, and looked at his hair. It was a tousled mess, sticking up in all directions. He nabbed a brush from the counter, and single handedly began to work it through his hair. Impatiently, he used his other hand to put the handle-end of his toothbrush in his mouth. When that was finished, he scrambled around the mirror-cupboard with his hand, searching for toothpaste. Got it! Elijah thought triumphantly. He popped open the cap [thank God it wasn't a twisty cap], and squirted a fair amount onto the bristles. He tossed the hairbrush onto the counter haphazardly, and used that hand instead to brush his teeth. Quickly, and in a way that would get him scolded by a dentist, he finished brushing and spat out the liquid mix of toothpaste and saliva. As he rinsed his mouth, he shoved the toothbrush under the running faucet, shut of the faucet, and spat out the water. He dropped his toothbrush inside the sink, and ran out to the bedroom.

He leaned against the bed, pulling on his right sock, then his left. Eli jammed a pair of shoes onto his feet, tied the laces hastily, and sprinted out of the room. He slammed the door a little too hard as he ran towards their meeting. Down the halls, knowing he could get there with his eyes closed, he ran until about a hundred feet away. There he stopped to catch his breath. Eli walked leisurely down the hall, before halting in front of the eye-scanner. The boy stuck his face close to the scanner, forcing himself not to blink as the painful light analyzed him. The door clicked open, declaring permission to enter. His hand pressed up against the door, sliding it open enough to get into the room. He looked around for an empty seat, and was met with one nearest the door. Of course, his pet peeve was doors, and if he could sit next to it, he could brace it and hopefully stop anything bad. Now, Eli knew that nothing extraordinary would happen during this meeting besides finding out who his partner is, but he could never be too careful. He slid into the seat casually, his stomach grumbling and growling at him, upset he had skipped breakfast. He looked over and recognized a few faces, but he wasn't exactly a social butterfly. His eyes wandered the room, begging for something to happen.

[ Well, that took longer than I anticipated. Sorry guys! ]

            T a g g e d : : Anyone who's in the Meeting.

Lidia looked down at her cup of almost gone coffee. She needed a half cup more. Looking up, she wondered if it was too late to go brew another, but saw that everyone had finally, arrived. Shrugging, she turned back around in her seat, picked up the cup that sat on her desk and drank the remaining hot liquid, feeling it leave a warm feeling in her throat. The girl grimaced slightly at the bitter aftertaste, but ignored it as she stood up, crushing the plastic cup as she made her way towards the garbage can, chucking the cup into it and going back to her seat, leaning back once more.

She sighed, now taking the time to look around her at everyone who had entered the room. She recognized some of them quite well, others vaguely, and maybe one or two she didn't remember ever seeing around. The one she knew quite well was that boy...the one she'd trained with and had befriended oh so long ago. Bentley. Of course, she'd cut off the friendship as soon as she taught herself what she believed in: that all relationships were pointless, especially when that someone could end up hurting you. Friendships, family ties, and last but not least, love relationships. It was one of the main reasons that the assassin had become a solo operative. She didn't want to rely on anyone and at a very early age, she'd made it her goal to not get close to anyone at the Academy. It'd be easier if everyone didn't like her. Of course, she was still human. Sometimes she longed to interact and mingle like normal people should. Yeah, she would allow herself to make a small conversation here and there, but it wasn't often you saw her doing this.

Shaking her head, Liddy shifted in her seat, her fingers absentmindedly playing with the folder on her desk, pushing it away and to her, or lifting the cover up about a centimeter or two, before letting it drop shut, never seeing any of the contents. She listened as one of the operatives, spoke, before someone else replied back, adding to the phrase, causing her to smile slightly. When would the stupid meeting start? Everyone was here now...right? One thing I should work on...patience. she thought, frowning slightly. It did her no good being impatient. It made her act on impulse at certain times, a fact that could very possibly ruin a mission if she didn't stick to the plan. Sighing once more, Lidia drummed her fingerpads on the desk quietly.
