Confused here about oekaki

I still haven't figured out how to use oekaki yet. How do you create a new drawing?

You'll need to click on the appropriate Oekaki topic (Anthro, Landscape/Scenery, etc.) and then the option to begin a new drawing will be at the top left. c:
