yellow-orange eyes, and black whiskers. She has small white wings affixed to her
abdomen with a brown leather band.]

Kittrels are remarkable creatures, really: nearly completely blind, yet they move as if they see more than we do. This seems to be the result of impressively-evolved auditory ability and pinpoint-accurate tactile sensitivity through the whiskers protruding from their maws. They're small things. You could step on one if you weren't paying close attention— though, seeing how much they seem to prefer the treetops, it would be hard to miss one. They glide through the air through use of what I assume is a patagium. I haven't gotten close enough to one to be completely certain.

They're extremely vocal and produce quite loud sounds for creatures so miniscule. It'd be hard to give an exact answer as to how many decibels their vocalization is capable of reaching outside of a laboratory setting. I have absolutely no intention of removing any of them from their homeland. Their natural environment is vast: mountains sprawl on one side of the island, while dense forest and babbling springs cut through another. It'd be difficult to replicate back home.

With that being said, I have a proposition for you. It's quite simple, really. I'd like you to move to the island— temporarily, though for a prolonged amount of time— and help me gather data on the Kittrels. They seem receptive to human presence and might even be candidates for domestication. If you're able to, you can take in as many as you're capable of handling. I'll just need you to participate in occasional studies and provide data when asked to.

✧ By participating in Kittrels, you agree to follow the rules.

✧ If a rule is determined to be broken, staff will message you. Consequences vary based on the rule broken and the circumstances involved. However, in most cases, a strike will be issued.

✧ Culmination of three strikes will result in a permanent ban from the species.

Ah, good, you made it! I hope you've settled in comfortably. The island is beautiful, isn't it?
It's a miracle it remained undiscovered until now. I'm glad I can trust you to treat it with
kindness. Now, I'm sure you're wondering what these tents are for! Let me explain.

The Kittrels have taken quite the liking to my assistants and I, but we simply can't care for
all of the ones that end up at the lab's doorstep. That's where you come into play.

Batches of Kittrels will be temporarily housed here until they find a home with one of you.
The process involves submitting a form, unique to each batch, that's found after all
the photographs of each Kittrel. These are not first-come, first-serve. The staff member
in charge of taking care of each batch prior to adoption will decide which of you are suitable
owners for each Kittrel listed. Think through your answers for each form; don't let me down!

Note: The above information implies that every batch of adopts is a competition. This is only for lore purposes.
Adopt batches will be a mixture between raffles and competitions, with the brunt being raffles.

Look, these Kittrels are special. If you've taken any in before them, they're not going to
want to stay with you. I'm serious. They'll run away. If you try and lie to me about not
taking care of any Kittrels before adopting one here, I'll know.

you.

Kittrels in the Shelter are available to non-owners only. Please do not attempt to adopt one if you own
