General:
- Site rules apply.
- By participating in Gear Deer, you agree to follow these rules and any future rule changes.
- Breaking any of the rules may result in a strike, a warning, a ban, or a demotion for staff.
- No double posting. Edit your post, instead. Please say why you are editing when you edit!
- There is Zero tolerance for discrimination, even if it occurs outside of official Gear Deer space.
- Do not edit any form structures. Certain keywords in the forms are used to find the posts; if edited, your post will be missed.
- There will be no refunds for pets or gears.
- You may never use genAI for prompts, art references, or any other reason.

Art Rules:
- Your deer must always link back to this thread.
- Do not claim any art or adoptable as your own if you do not own it.
- Do not edit any official GD art.

Adoption Rules:
- Your account must be at least one month old to adopt a deer.
- If it is clear that you have not read the rules before posting, you may not adopt a deer.
- A name and gender are required for entry into a raffle and for pound adoption.
- Please make a new post if you are changing your entry number or entering for more adopts. Changing the name or gender of your entry is an ok edit. Please say why you are editing when you edit!
- Specify if you are using raffle tickets, and how many. Use separate forms for each additional entry.
- By default, you may enter for only one adoptable in a litter. To enter for additional adopts, a raffle ticket must be used for each, which can be gained by claiming a free starter bag. You cannot enter multiple times for the same adoptable.
- Your deer may only have one companion at a time. You cannot adopt a companion without an open Gear Deer or doghouse.
- You must have less than 3 deer and less than 2 companions to adopt from the pound, unless otherwise stated.
- You may adopt one adopt from the pound once a week.
- You can claim one item per day from the Lost and Found.
- You may not use raffle tickets for event litter raffles.
- You may not ask other users to enter for raffles or adopt from the pound on your behalf.

Custom/Breeding Rules:
- You can be on either a breeding or customs list, not both simultaneously.
- You may not select your artist. Do not harass artists.
- Please ensure that your form is correct. After 24 hours, the form should not be edited.
- Please name your previous litter before starting a new breeding.
- Use the non-dressed up image of your deer when filling in your form, found in the art archive.
- Related deer cannot be bred. Check the deer archive or ask a staff member if you are unsure.
- Your breeding partner must quote your breeding form.
- You may not leave the cost area blank when submitting a custom. Customs asking for custom edits without being discussed beforehand will be denied. Feel free to DM a staff member for help.
- Customs may be denied with no reason supplied.

Activities Rules:
- You may only run errands once a week (M-F). You may only gather once on the weekends (F-Sun). You may only merge once on the first of each month.
- Errands start after gathering results are posted, and gathering starts after errand results are posted, unless results are more than 24 hours late. Merging starts and ends at rollover.
- You need a companion to run errands, a deer to gather, and both to merge.
- Only send deer or companions you own.
- The deer and companion you are merging must be paired. They cannot be unpaired after merging.
- If the form is filled out incorrectly or posted in the incorrect time frame, you will not get results.

Trading Rules:
- Trading forms must be quoted and confirmed by your trading partner.
- Trades are final once posted and confirmed unless a tradeback is agreed upon.
- Gear Deer may not be traded for real money.
- Gear deer items/adopts can be traded for deer, companions, Gear Deer items, other adoptables, art, CS pets, and C$.
- Gear Deer staff are not responsible for handling trades in other UMAs. We can only reflect these trades here.

Staff Rules:
- Violating the rules may result in removal from the staff position.
- Maintain a kind demeanor and handle issues maturely. Issues with other members should be solved privately or with Savor's involvement as required.
- Inactivity for over a month without any communication may result in removal from staff.
- Guest artists are required to participate in making one litter a month, unless otherwise communicated.
- Staff may not share the staff document, files, or any unreleased content to anyone outside of current Gear Deer staff.
- Persons listed as past staff no longer have staff powers in any Gear Deer space.

Bans:
If you are banned:
- This ruling is final and may not be disputed, even if no reason is given.
- Do not message anyone to ask for the ban to be revoked.
- Do not post on any official Gear Deer threads or spaces.
- Your deer and companions will remain in your archive as voided adopts, but all other items and gears may be sent to the pound/lost and found.
- We do not offer any refunds.
- You may not use any official Gear Deer images anywhere.
- You may not use the species Gear Deer in any way. Your deer characters from Gear Deer must not be referred to as "Gear Deer" and can no longer use official Gear Deer art as references or any other use. They can still be used as characters. You must still credit the artist for the character's design, but may not mention Gear Deer in this credit.

Rules

- In the fields, your Gear Deer may find breeding items or flowers. Beware, they may also come back empty handed. Rarely, they may find a mate and bring back a child.

You can breed two of your own Gear Dear/companions, or breed with another user. Have your partner quote your breeding form for proof. As this process is magical, the gender of the Gear Deer/companions in question is not relevant.

Rules

- Please allow up to three weeks for results.
- You can be on either a breeding or customs list, not both simultaneously.
- You may not select your artist. Do not harass artists.
- Please ensure that your form is correct. After 24 hours, the form should not be edited.
- Please name your previous litter before starting a new breeding.
- Your breeding partner must quote your breeding form. You cannot breed with another user's deer if they haven't agreed.
- Use the non-dressed up image of your deer when filling in your form, found in the art archive.
- Related deer cannot be bred. Check the deer archive or ask a staff member if you are unsure.
- When breeding companions, you will need the same amount of unpaired deer as companion offspring.
- A deer or companion with 12 or more children is considered retired. They cannot have any more children and cannot have litters that will result in them having more than 12 children.

Breeding Items

Breeding Crystal
- Minimum of 1 required for breeding.
- One crystal is good for two offspring, for up to six
offspring (three crystals).
- Please try to be prompt with owners, names, and genders.
- The babies will be added to the archive within a week
of naming.
- 1% of the time, mutations can occur on their own.
This is not per baby, but per litter.


Broken Breeding Prism
- Must be used with at least one breeding crystal.
- You can only use one for each baby in a litter.
- Changes the colors of one baby randomly.
Colors may be completely different or only a little different.

Breeding Geode
- Must be used with at least one breeding crystal.
- You can only use one for each baby in a litter.
- One random listed trait will be added to one baby
from a breeding. These traits all have the same chance
of occurring in a mutation, regardless of rarity.
- Mutations will override traits if they conflict.



Breeding Prism
- Must be used with at least one breeding crystal.
- Only one can be used per breeding.
- Can be used to provide three parents and can be used
on deer or companions. You may supply both parents or
pair up with other users.

A Gear Deer's rarity is determined by their rarest trait. There are two types of traits; listed and unlisted. Listed traits are the ones seen below, which can occur in mutations and are included in custom costs. Unlisted traits are all other traits, which can be seen here and must be paid extra for in customs.

Odds

- Traits seen in both parents will definitely be passed on.
- Common traits have a 60% chance of passing.
- Uncommon traits have a 50% chance of passing.
- Rare traits have a 25% chance of passing.
- VR traits have a 1% chance of passing, unless a VR trait ticket is used, which guarantees a pass. Max of 2 VR tickets can be used per breeding.
- Mutations only occur 1% of the time, unless a geode is used, which guarantees a mutation.

You can order a custom Gear Deer, both a deer and a companion, or a companion for your companionless Gear Deer! You can also use spells here.

Rules

- Please allow up to three weeks for results.
- Customs may be denied with no reason supplied.
- You can be on either a breeding or customs list, not both simultaneously.
- You may not select your artist. Do not harass artists.
- Please ensure that your form is correct. After 24 hours, the form should not be edited.
- You may not leave the cost area blank when submitting a custom. Customs asking for custom edits that have not been discussed beforehand will be denied. Feel free to DM a staff member for help with these things.

Listed traits are included at no extra cost.

Unlisted Traits:
Unlisted traits can be found on the public doc and incur additional fees.
Legendary (animated) traits cannot be ordered.
Common/Uncommon Trait - +50 per

VR Traits - Requires VR trait ticket, earned in events

Max of 10 traits per custom. Max of 2 VR traits per custom.

The rarity of the base is decided by the rarity of the rarest trait. For example, a deer with the mushy trait, velvet antlers, and lion tail would cost 300 gears, because all of those traits are listed uncommons (300 base). A deer with two unlisted rare traits and one unlisted uncommon trait would cost 750 gears (500 base plus 250 for traits). A deer with the cat tail, plus an unlisted uncommon trait, plus a VR trait would cost 550 gears and a VR trait ticket (500 base + 50 for the uncommon trait).

Summon Spell

1. Summons count as a custom order.
2. Used to add small animals other than companions
to a deer. Friends are functionally accessories.
3. Deer can have one friend and one companion.
4. Friends cannot run errands, merge, or breed.
