Trading
Devices can be traded between users. They may not be traded for IRL currency, but C$ and pets are okay as long as both parties agree. PxK may also be traded for other UMAs, as long as that UMA also allows trade between other UMAs. The trade cannot be reversed except by initiating a new, separate trade. Trades are currently solicited, requested, and confirmed in the Main thread.
You may donate any of your devices to the thrift store, where users may encounter it.
Devices being traded/donated that still have batteries retain these batteries (the current creature remains the same, whether custom, animated, locked, or normal. normal batteries will still grow up/die on the same timetable).

Player Customs
Player custom devices must follow these guidelines in order to be eligible for batteries:
- Include a watermark to differentiate it from official artist produced devices. your watermark may look however you like, but should include -PxK (Pixel Krystal's initiallism). the placement of your watermark shouldn't obscure the screen.
- May not exceed the 100x100 pixel canvas size.
- May not wholesale copy an existing attribute (ex. a pattern which is pixel-by-pixel identical to one produced by an official artist, or other player custom (unless you have permission from that artist)).
- May not change the base lineart to resemble real-life virtual pet devices.
- May not exactly copy the designs of real-life virtual pet devices.
- May not create player custom devices with the intention to fodder them.
- Player custom devices may be traded for CS pets, pixa, other Pixel Krystal devices, and other UMAs, like official devices, however battery mark-up for that device will increase to +50% when traded.
- Player custom devices must be registered before they may receive official batteries.

Once your registration is approved, your device will get an ID number which includes a "C" to indicate it is a custom. (eg. PxK-C001)
Hacked (Custom) Creatures
- Player-made custom creatures are referred to as "hacked", to differentiate them from paid custom creatures obtained via custom batteries.
- Must not be a copy of an existing creature by an official artist.
- Must not include more than one color.
- The device must have an added "Hack" watermark (provided in the asset Google Doc).
- Hacked creatures can be removed from your device if you purchase an official battery.
- Hacked creatures cannot participate in events, games, etc.
- Hacked creatures cannot be animated (unless you'd like to go to the trouble of doing it yourself).
- Hacked creatures must not be intentional pixel-by-pixel copies of real-life virtual pet creatures (i.e. digimon, tamagotchi, giga pets, etc.).
failure to follow these rules and guidelines will result in a warning and a request to adjust your work. excessive repeated offenses will not be tolerated.
About Various Events
Raffles will often include new attributes, which will not be possible to get on purchased devices until the raffle has concluded.
Special batteries with guaranteed new creatures will be given out periodically as prizes during events, which will not be possible to get otherwise until that event has concluded. These special batteries lock themselves upon reaching adulthood, and therefore can only be dispelled intentionally.
There are seasonal creatures which only have a chance of appearing during that season, such as bunnies during spring. These are guaranteed on certain holidays (such as bats on Halloween), unless you specify you'd like a non-seasonal battery.
Contests for new creature designs may happen periodically. If your design wins, it will be added to the pool of possible outcomes for all players, and you may request that specific outcome on any of your own devices for free from that point onward. You may also choose to distribute the new creature as a special battery. If you do not win, your design may be kept as a Hacked creature on any of your devices, as long as the guidelines are followed.
