Clear skies, a glittering blue ocean, white sand beaches, and nature abound... what a sight! As you enter the main area from the boat you'd just sailed in on, an overly friendly and talkative feline greets you.

"Welcome to the world of BATTLE buggies! Here on the island of Elytra, visitors come to enjoy the beauty of nature, but most of all, the diversity and ferocity of its two resident species, the snuggle bug and the small friend! Why not stay awhile and enjoy the company of these miniature, friendly natives?"

Two of these aforementioned creatures- you assume so, that is- appear from atop his hat. They buzz their wings in greeting, and you have a feeling you might just enjoy your stay.

What is a BATTLE buggy?

A BATTLE buggy (yes, with the capitalization... not sure how long that'll last. HAHAHA) is a beetle-esque creature that resides on the island of Elytra! They come in two specific "species"- snuggle bugs and small friends.

Snuggle bugs are the larger of the two, with chunky legs and big, adoring eyes. Their doglike charm captivates many, and are perfect comfort companions.

Small friends are the, well, smaller of the two, with little legs and itty-bitty eyes. They are much more popular with battle fans and serious collectors.

Despite their physical differences, there has been no difference noted in their battle ability. Either species can become champions through hard work and dedication!

BATTLE buggies and their accessories are given out for free through raffles, weekly foraging and as prizes from tourneys.

Trainer Avatar
Users can take on the appearance of an anthropomorphic being to represent themselves on the island of Elytra, with the hope that this will inspire an element of roleplay! Trainer Avatars are meant to accompany the UMA, and as such will not necessarily be a focus.

Avatars and accessories can be obtained through free raffles, customs and as prizes from tourneys.

Rules

• Since we're on Chickensmoothie, follow their rules.
• No stealing other users' buggies/ avatars/ items. You must always have proof of ownership listed somewhere (like a co-op post).
• You will be warned if your claim to something is accompanied without the proof you own it. Proof being a link to the result of a raffle/ foraging/ custom claim.
• Do not edit any assets or buggies/ avatars. Ask permission beforehand, but generally cropping for icons/ placing together on a canvas is allowed.
• Please don't joke about harming the buggies if you have an aversion to them.

Adoption Information

• You may only win once per batch (called 'swarms' for this UMA).
• Non-Owner First-Come First-Served (FCFS) - The only type of FCFS for this species, non-owners (users who don't own either a snuggle bug or small friend) may claim an available buggy AND enter a raffle if one is running concurrently. Do not edit your message- quote it with a new form. This is to prevent cheating!
• Raffle - You may enter for as many as you like, and may include "all" as your choice.
• FCFS forms and regular raffle forms edited after the raffle date (without a reason listed) nullify your form. Raffle forms edited after winners are posted is weird so be sure to put a note.

Coleopterists (Artists)

Coleopterists (the Artists of this UMA) will help discover new swarms of buggies (both snuggle bug and small friend variants) for our vacationers to befriend! Currently, we only require one swarm (made of a minimum of 5 buggies) per month for activity. Those looking to join us must be open to constructive criticism, in order to keep the quality of our buggies top-notch!

A swarm MUST be composed of five buggies. If a buggie is pre-claimed by someone on the team, a new buggie must be made to count as five. Buggies given away on the main thread or the server count to the five requirement.

As compensation for your efforts, you can create (or you can ask me, jdme, to do it for you!) your own custom avatar base, an outfit, and a buggie! For every two swarms you can make an additional buggie for yourself. Currently since this is my first time looking for assistance with a user-made adopt, I am open to discussing compensation.

To apply as an artist, 4 entries total are necessary- 1 standard snuggle bug and small friend each (standard meaning no line edits!), and 1 custom snuggle bug and small friend each (line edits ok!). Try to keep within the limitations of the canvas size!

Rangers (Moderators)

Rangers (the Moderators of this UMA) will assist in enforcing the rules and helping users stay within them. You will help review content and avatar/buggie/item proofs where necessary, and will assist me where possible! A bit open-ended, but when the situation arises I hope to work with you to figure out a plan of action and a course to dealing with problems at hand.

As compensation for your work, I'll (jdme) make you a custom avatar base + outfit, and a custom buggie. Since I'm not particularly sure how to properly compensate outside of activity, I'd be happy to discuss it.

As of this time, I am only looking for 1 other moderator.

Resort Staff (General Assistant)

Resort Staff (the General Assistants of this UMA) will help vacationers who may have a question or two, whether it be information about the UMA, assistance in finding proofs or bridging communication when a concern is raised. They will also assist in running the gameplay aspects of the UMA- rolling for outcomes between Foraging and Training (Tournaments will be done by me (jdme) for now). I'd like if I could have a varied staff that understood how to do different things, such as working with server bots, running events and creating positive communication with the community.

As compensation for your work, I'll (jdme) make you a custom avatar base + outfit, and a custom buggie. Since I'm not particularly sure how to properly compensate outside of activity, I'd be happy to discuss it.

General Staff Information

All staff members must be able to use Discord in order to communicate efficiently. At least one user per position with prior experience would be preferred, but users without experience will be considered regardless. Being able to communicate your concerns or questions is a must for me- I'd like to make this UMA a space everyone can enjoy!

Foraging

Enjoy island life... by searching for new buggies to befriend! Users may forage once a week to discover items, accessories, buggies, or nothing at all- the view is much too enchanting sometimes! Take a walk on the beach, a hike through the forest, or even take a boat out onto the water. The island is yours to explore!

Training

Found a friend with a heart for battle? You can train your buggies in speedy tree-climbing races, shell-steeling boxing matches, and horn-honing sumo simulations! Currently planned at once a week, but may change depending on user feedback.

Tournaments

After several weeks of training, buggies can compete in island tourneys in the hopes of becoming champions. With three different leagues, your bugs can move up the ranks to become the ultimate champion! Currently planned once every three weeks, but may change depending on user feedback.

Currently, trained buggie stats will reset when the buggie is traded, but may be kept if a stat voucher is utilized for the trade. I'm unsure what the ramifications of something like that would be so I'll be sure to do something about it when we get there.
