Welcome to Magic Ponies' Color Your Own Shifter Palooza! The CYO Shifter Palooza is the biggest event that Magic Ponies has ever hosted and the staff and I are really excited to get started. This event will be going on from April 1st to the End of May . So you will have plenty of time to participate. For more information on how to participate in the Event read the Rules & FAQs and Guidelines.


Info On Shifters:

Shifters are a brand new breed to Magic Ponies. Ricia found them one day wandering the desert and she decided to give them a home with the lovely people of Magic Ponies community. Now they are still rather shy and only come out for special events, so be on the look out!

They are most comfortable with other shifters, although they seem to get along well with the Companions. However the Magic Ponies make them very nervous. They are currently ONLY available through special events (no customs) and are all non-breedable.

They come in two different types, Feline and Pony. All shifters start out at as a fox and they shift shape into either a Feline or Pony. There has currently been no sightings of shifter cubs but rumor has it they may show up in the shop in the distant future.

Can we make small edits to the linearts??
Yes, but they must be minor edits that don't radically change the base.
Ex. You CAN add wings, accessories, change hair or fur (make it shorter or fluffier). You CAN NOT alter the body or change the species.


Can we change the background??
Yes, but you must keep the LINEART credit (fox (c) herzlose etc.) and you must have CYO somewhere on the background.


What does CYO stand for?
CYO stands for COLOR YOUR OWN, meaning in this event your are coloring your own shifters, all you do is download the bases and color whatever design you want. If you are not artistically talented you may post in the REQUESTS post to request another player color your design for you

How do I download a ZIP file?
Click on the links in the Guidelines & Forms & Links post. Then click the blue "DOWNLOAD HERE FROM MEDIAFIRE" box

How do I open a ZIP file?
Click on the file
Click EXTRACT ALL FILES
Click EXTRACT

Which Zip File do I use?
If you have GIMP, PHOTOSHOP, or PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS use the PSD ZIP file
If you have PAINT use the PAINT ZIP file


Which Bases do I color?
Depending on the type of shifter you want you either color the
Fox Cat Base + Cat Base = Feline Shifter
Fox Base + Pony Base = Pony Shifter


What's a Base?
A base is one of the two parts of the shifter animation. The first part is the fox base, the second part is either the pony or feline base.


How do I color the bases?

If you are using PAINT just open your Paint Program:
1. Go to FILE
2. Click OPEN
3. Look in either DOWNLOADS or MY PICTURES for the CYO PAINT Folder
4. Click Open or Double Click
5. Select whichever base you want to color
6. Click Open
7. Color the Base (use paint bucket or the little pencil/paint brush)
8. Add Your Name (use the little A button to add words)

If your using the PSD files just open either Photoshop, Gimp, or Photoshop Elements

1. Open your photo editing program.
2. Click OPEN
3. Look in either DOWNLOADS or MY PICTURES for the CYO PSD Folder
4. Click Open
5. Select whichever base you want to color. (hide/unhide the base you don't want to color by clicking on the box or little eye next to the layer)
6. Add your name and shifter info to the cert. You can move the font around as long as you don't remove it completely
7. Save to the web (do this one base at a time.
7b: When you save to the web make sure only one base is showing by hiding all the others (click the eye or box next to the layer)
7c: To save to the web go to file, then click SAVE TO THE WEB.
8. Repeat Step 7, 7b, and 7c for all the bases you want.



How do I make the bases shift shape? How do I animate the bases?
You don't the staff will animate all shifters after you post your colored bases in the shop.


How many CYO Shifters can I have?
You may have 4 CYO Shifters per this event


I don't know how to color the linearts can I still get a CYO shifter?
You may request that other players color CYO shifters for you at the Requests post

Can I color more than 4 CYO shifters?
You may only color four CYO Shifters for yourself however you may color as many CYO shifters for others as you like, just check out the Requests Post

Well now that you've read all the rules your ready to get started. Just read the following Guidelines for this Event and you will be ready to go! First off there are only 4 CYO Shifters per person, meaning you can color 4 different shifters for this event ONLY!. This is to keep the shop from getting over run. But no worries, if you have already colored your own CYO shifters and you want to color some more go to the Requests post and fill some of the requests there. Also check out the Raffles and Games post for some more fun activities!


Rules to Coloring CYO Shifters
1. You may color 4 for yourself
2. You may not take them out of Chickensmoothie w/o Ricia's Permission
3. You may color gifts for other people, but they must post the CYO Event form THEMSELVES, so I know that they are actually receiving the CYO Shifters.

To add the the awesome fun of the event we will be hosting a raffle as well! This is for everyone who fills a request in the Requests post! For every request you fill you get entered into the raffle. At the end of the event I will roll the raffle and 2 players will win: Shifter Breeding Tokens!

Shifter breeding Tokens allow you to breed your shifters, either to each other or with any other shifter in the shop!

You may enter the raffle as many times as you like, your raffle number is whatever the Request Number is that you filled.

There are five games going on the length of this Event! A beauty pageant, a CYO Background Contest, A Guess the Number Game, Pony/Dog Races, and two Easter Egg Hunts!


Shifter Beauty Pagent
The Beauty Pageant is open to all participants of the CYO Shifter Palooza. At the end of the Event The staff will each pick 1 Shifter that they think is the most beautiful. Each owner will be given a Shifter Breeding Token, A Trophey and a special Beauty Pagaent Tiara or Crown!


The CYO Background Contest
The CYO Background Contest is open to everyone who wishes to enter. You will be asked to Draw a Background (on Oekaki so everyone can join) and the person with the best background will get their background added to the shop list! As well as free custom backgrounds for all their ponies, plus a Shifter Breeding Token!You may enter this contest multiple times

To enter you will have to edit This Background You will also need to post in the first thread so I know you are entering the contest.


Demon-Dragoness' Guess the Number Game!
This game was suggested by Demon-Dragoness and will run until all there are two winners! Demon-Dragoness and I will both choose a number between 1-50. Whoever guesses the number correctly will win an Easter Accessory! Please put your guesses in PINK so I know your trying for the prize!

Ricia's Races: OPEN!
There will be five types of Pony or Dog Races: Water Races, Air Races, Land Races, PPS Races, and Winged Dogs Races. You may enter any of your OWN Ponies or Dogs in the race! Only one participant per race. All participants must be adults or PPS Ponies. No foals or puppies allowed.The race will start when all the participants have entered. There are seven participants in each race, except the PPS Race only four participants are needed for that race.When you sign up you will be given your ponies or dogs number. When the race begins I will use a random number generator to determine the "winner" who will recieve a special first place ribbon and one Easter Accesory! If you want to enter a Pony or Puppy in one of the races just check out the racing grounds!
