V1 Beardogs Information

Beardogs (like Door here) are large, solid creatures named for their features that lay somewhere at the intersection of canid and ursid. They are (predominantly) friendly things; sentient and capable of great intelligence and surprising dexterity. While many prefer to show not tell, beardogs are proficient in their own language and that of the Furless who came before.

Most beardogs spend their entire lives in Ursa Alter; a large, walled city protected by ancient immovable Sentinels. But increasingly, under the watchful eye of the Explorer's Guild, some few intrepid adventurers have set out to the sparse townships, fields and forests beyond. What lays beyond the circle of distant mountains, no one is quite sure...

BEARDOGS is an interactive, lore-medium lite-ARPG focused around storytelling and world building and sharing your creations with others. BEARDOGS are a semi-closed species; with staff-created litters and the ability to earn items that allow users to order custom beardogs from staff, or even make their own with earned-MYOs.

- Accounts must be active on CS for a minimum of two (2) months before they can participate in beardogs. This is to prevent multi-accounting for the purpose of obtaining beardogs. You may not obtain any beardogs during this period.

- Do not trace, edit, or use the base or any official beardogs art or content for any reason without permission.

- You must have a Personal Den (a personal archive) to participate in beardogs. You may either host this on the Personal Dens thread or off-site on places like Toyhou.se, Notion, Google docs etc). If you host off-site you must still have a post on the Personal Den thread with your username + CS ID attached to it with a link that leads to your archive.

- You can use your beardogs wherever you like on Chicken Smoothie (in your signature etc) but if the beardog is taken offsite, it should link back to this thread or the Beardogs Toyhou.se.

- Please remain respectful and polite to any current or future beardog staff members. Most everything done here is done for free and in our own free times.

- By participating in any aspect of beardogs you have agreed that you have read the above rules and all other specific thread rules (such as Trading, Exploration etc rules).

- Beardogs operate on a raffle or participation-based system. "Main page" adopts (such as those found in this post) will almost always be raffles.

- You must use the form provided to adopt a beardog and include all required and relevant information.

- You can include the IDs of the Beardogs you want (BD-#) or you can write "all" if you wish to enter for all.

- Beardogs operates on a 3 strike policy.
- The process is as such: Warning > Account Strike 1 > Account Strike 2 > Community Limitation(s) (OR) Ban
- A Community Limitation is a temporary ban (a "mute") that will result in you being unable to participate in the various threads or on the discord.
- Community Limitations are permanent account markers; further related issues may result in a permanent ban. You may appeal their removal 3 months after receiving one.
- Permanent Bans cannot be appealed.
- If the issue is serious enough (such as tracing or plagiarizing art, bullying, or major CS rule breaks) you may instantly be banned with no chance at appeal.
- If you're banned from beardogs you cannot participate in any manner; including but not limited to adopting, trading (apart from gifting your beardogs away), exploration etc

What are V1 Beardogs?

Beardogs was originally run as a casual "pixel-perfect" UMA here on Chicken Smoothie with large, same-lined litters with not much user interaction or participation beyond "adopting" and occassionally doing daily Exploration (something that was both difficult for staff to keep up with and tedious for users to participate in).

All Beardogs from this original iteration of the species are now classified as "V1 Beardogs" or "Unidentified Wild Beardogs" (UWBs).

V1 Beardogs/UWB's look something like these:

What does Unidentified mean?

Beardogs in the current iteration are assigned an ID number (Format: BD-#). Unless your Beardog has an identifier, it is classified as a UWB.

Can I use my V1 Beardogs/UWBs?

For some things, yes! UWB's may:

- Be displayed in your archive (Personal Den)
- Be included in supportive lore of ID'd Beardogs
- Be used in tasks and missions
- Be provided to an artist as reference for what you want transferred to the new lines
- Be used in MYOs as a self-made transfer (providing you have an MYO slot)
UWB's may not:

- Be used in Exploration
- Be ID'd until transferred and/or by anyone but official staff
- Be included in the "Masterlist"(Town Hall)

So you will be offering transfers from V1 > Current?

Absolutely, yes! We don't want to alienate a whole chunk of the old community by making V1 Beardogs completely irrelevant. 'V1 Transfer Slots' will be open periodically by staff and will be completely free for the user involved. Such Transfer Slots will be limited to one per user per opening and it is up to the staff member involved how many and which ones they take on.

I need help finding my old V1 Beardogs!

While we're happy to help where we can, we would prefer if you make it easier on us by first attempting to recover as much as you can yourself first. Look through the old threads and old co-op archive. If the images are broken by the way of old Discord image links, you can copy/paste the link back into any Discord chat and it will show what the image was. If the image is a broken imgur (or other) link; please make a post in the relevant channel on our (eventual) Discord with all relevant information you think might help us track down what it was and we'll see if we can help you. Please make sure you actually still own the Beardog before recovering anything.

Does Meat (Beardog currency) or any other items transfer over?

In order for everyone to be on a level playing field with this new version of Beardogs; all previous iterations of items or currency are considered void. Thanks for understanding.
