You shift nervously in your seat on the deserted ferry as it bounces along the waves. You've heard strange stories about the Equition Isles, as many good as bad. But, finally, you've mustered up the courage to visit the wild island chain. So, you caught the monthly ferry and here you are!

The main island has just started to come into view off the ferry's bow. The island looks green, but the mist is still so thick it's hard to tell. As you peer closer, the mist almost seems to part for the little boat as it skips along. As you get closer you see an island of sandy beaches and forests of mixed furs, pines, oaks, and many other trees you can't name. There's also a little dock, hardly more then a few logs. That's your stop. The little ship pulls up and stops next to the dock so you can climb out.

The captain shakes his head and calls loudly, "Good luck!" He pulls the boat away. He thinks that you're nuts. But hey, he also said he's never set foot on these islands! What can he possibly know?

You walk along the deserted little path that leads into the woods from the dock, your pack slung over your shoulder. Was that captain right to think you were crazy? The mist begins to roll back in, and you start getting even more nervous. Is there anyone here? Then through the mist you hear the thunder of horses hooves and you stop, staring ahead into the mist to see if you can see the beasts.

And, for just a moment, you see two horses standing before you, oddly colored and too long and lean for any normal horse. They toss their heads wildly, and you know somehow that the gray is a mare and the bay a stallion. Then the two horses just seem to disappear into the mist. As they disappear, the mist clears to show before you a good-sized, bustling town on the the slopes of the hills before you. And you hear, whispered in your ears by a kind, female voice and a rumbling, male one...

Sol and Luna are two of my horse characters and are kinda The Isles of Equi mascots. (If you read the intro, they were the two horses that greeted you.) They're sort of like the spirits and guardians of the Isles; Sol for the sun and his mate, Luna, for the moon. Their profiles are below. And by the way, if you get a wild hair and want to draw/color one of them, that art can be linked here.

~ Sol ~


Sol is the male sun spirit and guardian of the Equi Islands.

Personality: Sol is rash and playful, all fire and warmth. He's always up to something and never likes to be still in anyway, whether it's bothering island newcomers or actually helping out. Sol is a little temperamental and can be quick to anger. He also has the impulse control of a four-year-old. But Sol is alway loud and the life of the party, often laughing or joking. He can be very outgoing.

~ Luna ~


Luna is the female moon spirit and guardian of the Equi Islands.

Personality: Luna id Sol's opposite. She is quieter, kinder, and more shy and reserved. Luna prefers learning and rambling rather than her mate's life in the fast lane. She is very much like water, for her nature is calm and patient until the right trigger is hit and then her temper is frightening and icy. But that rarely happens!

May 5th - Alrighty, I'm sure everyone has noticed the fancy new lay out of the main page. (Thank you Pan/rainbowpanda101!) Well, to finish it up a need you to resend breeding market horses and Que amounts, including unaccepted trades so I suggest recalculating. Easter eggs are worth 2,000 Que.

When you get your first horse here on the Equition Isles, you become part of the community. Meaning you need a stable for your horses. So when you adopt or buy your first horse and you get the code for its art, then you need to go to the right forum and set up a thread to keep them in. (Read over the site rules to makes sure you have it right!) Once you get that done, organize it however you want! Just let me know and I'll put the link here so others can see. To see examples, look at the stables of people who are already members.

A max of three applications per batch. So you can try for three horses.

Plains Horses

Plains horses are often lean and long, with natural or semi-natural base colors and unnatural colors and patterns layered over. They are the most common and fastest breed of the Isles.

Storm Horses (Mythic Breed)

Storm horses are a sea horse and very finicky and wild. They will, on occasion, choose a human and to that human their loyalty is complete and trust perfect. But wild Storm Horses can't be trusted because of their trickster natures and strange power over the weather. Sailors believe that seeing a wild Storm Horse is very unlucky, about as bad as hearing the cry of a banshee when you're sick. Those with a tame Storm Horse are very lucky because, if someone has a Storm Horse companion, they are beyond the harm of others of that same breed.
Each Storm Horse is inclined to a different type of storm. Dark gray manes and bodies with gold, red, yellow, orange, and other warm markings are inclined towards fire storms, thunderstorms, etc. Blue-gray bodies and dark manes with gray, blue, or white marking are more anchored to things to do with water. Pale grays with gray markings are of the wind. White bodies with blue, gray or even purple markings are snow and ice beasts.
These horses seem to float as they move, usually only one hoof touches the ground at a time. When a storm approaches, their markings glow blindingly bright and they get hot-tempered. If it is a storm they are inclined to, they want to be outside in it, since they never get hurt by storms. Their markings glow brighter and get warm or cold depending on what type of storm they are marked for.

Glade Unicorns (Mythic Breed)

Glade Unicorns are one of the lightest built unicorns and the least aggressive. They are very rare and prefer to live in small groups in the thickest woodland around water, which explains their heavy feathering that protects the sensitive fetlock from injury and chill.
These unicorns are often shy and not very forward, but they relax around the few they trust and are often very lively. The wild ones respond best to a girl's or woman's touch, and luck seems to follow these creatures everywhere. The get on with most other breeds and only clash sometimes. But each one has a different personality, so you never know. Their colors are generally natural with a white marking on the face and the horn and eyes are the same shade.

Kirin (Mythic Breed)

The Kirin, also known as the Japanese unicorn, is a keeper of truth and justice. One cannot lie to a Kirin because it can always see the truth. When called to a trial, a Kirin will look into the accused and see the truth and, if they're guilty, the motives behind their actions. The Kirin will kill those who are guilty of a great crime and whose motives are unforgivable, but innocent ones they will set free.
Not to be confused with the Ki-lin, the Kirin embodies honor, justice, kindness, loyalty, and judgment. They have a bull-like body and a lion's mane, making them powerful fighters and loyal guards of those few they choose to be around. Their colors are often natural, but they can be any tone. their horns are always a gray-toned color.

Tropical Hippocampi (Mythic Breed)

Tropical Hippocampi are the brightest colored of their kind and the highest spirited. They are a playful breed and are able to live in both fresh water and salt water. They prefer warmer waters as their name suggests. The stallions display the brightest colors and patterns, while the mares tones are often more mellow with bright fins. Both genders share a wild love of play. They like normal land bound horses and will often greet them at the shores of lakes, rivers, and oceans. They are more picky about people though but are still fairly friendly.
