Genetics Guide
A guide to corn snakes available in this game. This is your resource for genotypes and phenotypes, their rarity, offspring mortality, and price for selling/buying each morph. This game may vary slightly from real life corn snake genetics to make it more straightforward.
Definitions
- genotype: the genes of the snake
- phenotype: the appearance of the snake
- epigenetics: the effect of the environment on the phenotype/appearance of the snake
- dominant genes: always alter the appearance of the snake even if just one copy is present, depicted in capital letters.
- recessive genes: alters the appearance of the snake if two copies are present, depicted in lowercase letters.
- heterozygous (het): the snake's genotype contains a two different versions of the gene (ex. dominant and recessive
xcopies). A snake that is heterozygous for a gene is a carrier of the recessive copy-- its offspring may
xexpress the recessive trait!
- homozygous: the snake's genotype contains two of the same version of the gene.
- codominant traits: two different versions of the gene that influence the phenotype of the snake equally➟ a third
xphenotype
Wild type*
normal line [W] - 1CC - 0% chance of dead offspring
keys line [W] - 1CC - 0% chance of dead offspring

*note; "lines" of the wild type carry the same genotype, their phenotype is a result of epigenetics (the wild type [W] gene appears different depending on the environment).

Let's go herping!
Herping is the scientific exploration of different biomes. Go on and observe the natural world, where you may come across bugs, bees, birds... and corn snakes! CornCoins can also be found through herping. Dare to explore and you may discover a snake with a hidden morph or a new morph entirely. If you're really lucky, you may even discover a legendary morph!
Herping Rules
1. You may go herping once per day (resets at CS rollover).
2. You keep and cherish whatever you find!
3. Fill out the form below (don't remove the code)
- Code: Select all
I'd like to go Herping!
link to last herping post: here

Herping biomes
Certain morphs are boosted in certain biomes!
Overgrown fields. Can you find the corn snakes hidden among the tall, billowing grass? Snakes that dwell in the overgrown fields hide next to rocks and under parts of abandoned old buildings.
Forest. Snakes in this biome may be found high up in canopy of oaks and pines and require a budding herpetologist to brave new heights.
Rocky hillside. Snakes love the rock crevices and miniature caves they find in this biome.
Palmetto flatwoods. Herbal and full of pines, the palmetto flatwoods is a coastal biome tamed by wildfire. Also home to tortoises and salamanders, it is a sight to behold for herpetologists.

The Incubator
This is the incubator, where you can breed your snakes and discover hidden morphs!
Female snakes will lay up to 4 eggs, though that number can be higher with the right diet.
As long as you keep the eggs nice and warm, all eggs will hatch into healthy baby snakes!
Incubator Rules
1. You may breed one snake pair every 24hrs (resets at CS rollover)
2. A snake must wait two days before it can breed again
3. You can keep or sell the babies
4. Items can be used to ensure healthy offspring or produce more eggs! See the shop

Welcome to the Snake Shop!
Here is where you can purchase CornCoins (CC) and items to use while herping or using the incubator.
CornCoins are available through herping and through selling your snakes to the shelter, but if you don't
want to wait to get CC, you may trade in C$.
Items
vitamins [100CC]
When a female corn is given vitamins she is guaranteed to lay 8 eggs! Doesn't affect hatchling mortality rates.
automatic heat regulator [50CC]
When used in the incubator, the automatic heat regulator guarantees all eggs will hatch happy and healthy
sun hat [50CC]
Wearing a sun hat allows you to go herping again, whether 24hrs have passed or not.
corn bait [50CC]
Using corn bait while herping increases your chances of finding a corn snake from 33% to 75%!
the juciest grasshopper [100CC]
Using a grasshopper while herping increases your chances of finding a corn snake from 33% to 100%
Use the form below to purchase an item and it will be added to your bank!
- Code: Select all
I'd like to purchase an item!
Item(s) you'd like to purchase here
Are you using your bank CC or sending a trade for CC? here
shopcsg
CC Conversion Rates
1C$ = 10CC
10C$ = 110CC

The Corn Snake Shelter
Here is where you can put your snakes up for adoption in exchange for CC and where you can adopt available snakes for CC.
Every once in awhile, I will go out herping and find a snake that I will bring to the shelter for someone to adopt!
Current adoptable corn snakes:
I'd like to adopt a corn snake!
Fill out the form below:
- Code: Select all
I'd like to go adopt a corn snake!
ID of snake you'd like to adopt: here
Will you use your bank CC or send a trade for CC? here
adoptcsg
Once the form is filled out, I will remove the appropriate amount of CC from your bank. Once I respond to your form, you may add the snake to your hatchery with all required information.
