how do i adopt?- every once in a while a new litter is released and becomes available
to claim. there are a few ways of claiming your litter ball pythons; in
each litter there is at least one outcome which can be won in a short
contest for its adoption (writing a short story, sharing a prompt, etc).
sometimes there is also a raffle, which determines a random winner.
most of the other litter outcomes are free to adopt on a fcfs basis!
simply fill out the form visible beneath it! sometimes there are also
special 'store' ball pythons, which you can purchase for c$. these are
usually very rare and complex in their design. each adopt belongs to one
owner when claimed/bought.
however, there are a few free adopt designs available for everyone at anytime.
they will never disappear and can be adopted and/or used in ones signature
whenever! to use, just copy the code in the box and paste wherever you like.
how do i recieve/use my litter adopt?- if you win a contest adopt or are the first one to snag a fcfs outcome,
you will be notified in a post in this thread. i will also pm you with the unique
forum code of your adopt.
can i make edits to my adopt?- after you own your adopt, you are allowed to redraw them in a unique artstyle
and/or use as a character. you may also resize the image of your python to fit your
needs. you are not allowed, however, to make significant
changes to its design and/or edit the original image/lineart.
can i remove the link from my adopt when posting/using it?- the link in the forum code of your adopt leads to my thread topic. when using
your adopt in posts/signatures/forums, please do not remove it.
are your adopts centered around a real species?- yes! my adopts all resemble the
ball python! it is a fascinating
species of snake & i recommend anyone to read about them. some adopt designs will be
based closely on existing morphs and color variations of this snake, wheras other will be
completely fan-made.
are customs available?- not at the moment, but they plan to open very soon! keep and eye out!
these customs will be purchasable with c$ or pets.
why are the adopts assigned a sex?- all python adopts are pre-assigned male or female, this is due to a later breeding
option! you will be able to breed your pythons to get more unique, new morph combos!
what are morphs? what does 'het' mean?- 'morph' is just another word for a specific gene/color variation. some genes are dominant
(
dom), whereas others are recessive (
rec). dominant genes are genes that have a
natural chance of passing onto the offspring, no matter what morph you breed its parent to.
they are always visible to the eye.
recessive genes are genes that may pass down onto the offspring if both parents either show
visual signs of possesing the gene, or carry a 'het' gene - meaning that even though the morph
is invisible, they carry it & when bred to another het or visual, the offspring can carry it too!
some examples of this are; albino, piebald, axanthic, clown.
so keep an eye out when breeding!
one - please do not use/steal adopts that you do not own. you may only use/post
the free-for-all adopts if you do not own any others.
two - you may not trade and/or sell your adopts. if you do not want a python
anymore, please message me and they will be reposted again and become available
for a different user to enjoy.
three - do not steal or edit original art/lineart from me and my thread.
four - you may upload your pythons to character storage sites and/or use as
characters in roleplays, etc.
five - do not remove the link from your adopt's forum code.
six - please be nice and respect all users at all times.
