Welcome to Tyena Sanctuary! Tyenas are an extremely tiny species of hyena that are about the size of a small bird. Due to their size, they have a hard time surviving on their own in the wild, so we've built this sanctuary to protect them! While they're safe from predators here, they could still benefit from attention and affection from a loving owner- which is where you come in!

Tyenas come in a variety of colors and markings, and can be born with a multitude of mutations. You can even customize them with items from the Store! To help get you started, check out the Bank for some complimentary Tyena currency and the Adoption center for some free Tyenas!

- Users may only adopt one Tyena from a batch.
- Be patient, be polite, and be positive! Tyenas may be small, but it takes time to create each design and respond to everyone who posts in the thread!

Why is the currency melons?
Hyenas in real life actually eat melons frequently during the dry season because they contain a lot of water! The currency for Tyenas is modeled after tsamma melons.

How do I display my Tyena in my signature?
When you adopt a Tyena, you'll receive a private message with a code that can be copied into your signature! This code displays an image of your Tyena and links back to the Tyena thread.

What should I do if I misplace the code for my Tyena?
PM me and I would be happy to resend your code! While all of your Tyenas are recorded in the archive, the codes are not, so the only way to recover your code is through messaging.

Didn't you run Pocket Babies?
Yes, I founded another adoptables thread called Pocket Babies back in 2017! And now I'm back with Tyenas! I loved running an adoptables thread but unfortunately had to stop due to things happening in my real life. The thread was handed over to someone else and has since closed down so I'm not sure what happened to remaining orders- if you ever ordered something but never received it please PM me for reimbursement!

The rarity of a Tyena is determined by the type of mutation that it has. Tyenas with no mutations are considered Common. There are currently 16 mutations that a Tyena can have! There are 10 Uncommon mutations, 4 Rare mutations, and 2 Legendary mutations.

The currency used for Tyenas is melons. There are currently two ways that you can obtain melons! You can trade CS pets and c$ for melons, or you can obtain melons by sending your Tyena out to scavenge. When sending a trade for currency conversion, please include in your message that it is for Tyena Sanctuary melons!

1 OMGSC/VC/C = 5 melons

Every week, your Tyena can go out to gather melons! Scavenging starts on Monday and ends on Friday. Sign-ups for scavenging take place on Saturday and Sunday! Make sure you’ve signed your Tyena up Sunday at 10 pm CS time or they will have to wait until the next sign-up.

While scavenging, your Tyena will gather anywhere from 25 melons to 50 melons. Sometimes they will even pick up additional items along the way that you can use to customize your Tyena! On very rare occasions, your Tyena may even bring back a friend!

Litters usually consist of common and uncommon Tyenas, but sometimes a rare Tyena may be included in a litter.
Litter Tyenas are raffled off, and each user may only apply for ONE Tyena from a litter.
A new litter will be posted at least every two weeks, but sometimes more frequently!

Every month a special Tyena will be given to one lucky person. Monthly Raffle Tyenas usually have a mutation or altered lineart. At the end of each month, one username from the people who have entered the raffle will be randomly selected by a generator, which will determine the winner of that month's raffle Tyena!
A new raffle is posted every month! The next raffle will be posted on 9.1.19.

⮑ If you don't have enough melons your custom order will be waitlisted until you have enough in the bank.
