The guild hall is, to your surprise, the largest structure in the little town,
and you have to wonder why at first, but when you pass through the broad doors and find
more than half the population milling about, you begin to understand. This is not the hall of a guild.
It is the hall of all town guilds! You are just starting to wonder what kind of person that would make
the guild leader when a throat clears behind you. Startling, you turn to find that you have blocked
the passage through the front door. While the patiently waiting goons behind you could probably
stream past, they would likely shove you in passing, and that would be very rude. Like, say,
standing in the door of a public venue level rude. You excuse yourself and make your way in.
Hunkered over a pile of books at a corner table, left alone by all others, sits a particularly
exhausted looking goon. That golden collar and jeweled medallion hung around his neck
are what gave him away, as they are the same symbols marking the front of the hall.
He sighs, without even looking up.
"Another one seeking an early death, hmm? What is it you're after, human?
That's the first thing your kind always come here for. I may be the guild leader, but it's only a title.
Really, I just make sure everyone follows the rules. Here, look. This is how I do it." The guild master,
it turns out, has little energy to deal with your shenanigans or whims, and cuts straight
to the heart of matters. He holds out a handful of items to you, explaining their uses and requirements,
insisting that if these aren't what you were after, he really can't help you.
