Long time no see, everyone!
I apologize for being gone for SO LONG.
The whole moving house thing was horrible.
I've been burnt out for weeks because of it.
But I finally felt like working on some pixel cats!
So have a couple of long overdue litters!
And just in case anyone else finds it funny . . .
I got the newest Warriors by Erin Hunter in the
mail while I was working on posting these litters!
So now I'm off to read The Broken Code #1! Yay!

Neko Warriors are tiny, unique pixel cats that you can collect and/or make into characters.
They are based on real cats and thus come in a variety of semi-realistic colors and patterns!
We say semi-realistic because only certain colors and patterns are available in Neko Warriors.
To learn more about these cats, please read the Information and Genetics section found below!

XXXXXXXXXX

XXXNeko Warriors were inspired by two different things - the phone app game Neko Atsume and the fictional book series Warriors by Erin Hunter. For those who don't know, Neko Atsume is a game where you have a cute background where you can put out bowls of food so that random cats can come "visit" you. You have a camera that allows you to snap photos of the cats, and they leave behind fish that you can use to purchase items such as balls or plastic bags for the cats to play with. As for Warriors, it is a book series about Clans of wild cats who live side by side and fight over food and territory. The Warriors follow a set of rules known as the Warrior code, which is often broken by the main characters during their adventures.

XXXThe Neko Warrior lineart was based off the Neko Atsume cats but was not traced. It was drawn free hand by rainbowpanda101. The designs of the Neko Warriors will not resemble the cats from Neko Atsume at all and will be much more detailed, with the lineart being colored in instead of remaining black. Members who adopt from Neko Warriors will be allowed to turn their cats into Warriors like those from the book series or simply collect them for their signatures or as regular cat characters. Drawing or making art of your Neko Warriors is highly encouraged, and if you'd ever like to share your art you may do so in the Community thread once it goes up!

XXXNeko Warriors come in semi-realistic cat colors and patterns. Why semi-realistic? The owner only has a general understanding of how cat genetics and coloration works, so only certain colors and patterns are going to be available. This means that the colors found in the Neko Warriors may or may not be exactly realistic but will be approximately close, so if you see any coloration that you know isn't one hundred percent accurate . . . please don't say anything! These aren't real cats and are being made just for fun, and the owner knows there might be mistakes.

Not Included

XXXNeko Warriors can only be shorted haired so long haired versions will not be included. They also cannot be what is known as silver or smoke, a certain color that can be found in real cats. These are the only two options found in the calculator that will not be used in Neko Warriors. The rest (Eumelanin, Sex-linked Red , Dilution, Tabby, Tabby Pattern, Colorpoint, and White) will be used.

Included Options Explained

Gender

XXXAll Neko Warriors will be assigned a gender. However, Neko Warriors can have any gender identity or sexual preference, as decided by the owner. The only time gender is restricted is in regarding Red or Tortoiseshell cats. Red cats are most often male, but they can on occasion be female. As for Tortoiseshells, only female Neko Warriors can be Tortoiseshell. In real life, male Tortoiseshells are possible but it is only due to a genetic defect, which causes the male to be sterile and unable to produce offspring. As we don't want to have to worry about keeping track of sterile Neko Warriors, male Tortoiseshells will not be possible.

Eye & Nose Colors

XXXThe eye and nose colors are determined by the coat. For example, a black cat can have copper, orange, or green eyes and a black or charcoal gray nose while a black tabby can have copper, orange, green, or hazel eyes and a brick red nose. To see what eye colors are paired with what coat colors, please check THIS chart.

Eumelanin

XXXEumelanin helps determine the color of a Neko Warrior. There are 6 options for Eumelanin in the calculator: Black; Black, carries chocolate; Black, carries cinnamon; Chocolate; Chocolate, carries cinnamon; and Cinnamon. Black produces a black cat, while Black, carries chocolate and Black, carries cinnamon are both black but have the possibility of passing on Chocolate or Cinnamon. Chocolate produces a brown cat, while Chocolate, carries cinnamon is brown but has the possibility of passing on Cinnamon. Cinnamon produces a reddish brown cat. If any of these are paired with Red or Tortoiseshell from the Sex-linked Red option, the cat will be red or tortoiseshell instead.

Sex-linked Red

XXXAlong with Eumelanin, Sex-linked Red helps determine the color of a Neko Warrior. There are 3 options for Sex-linked Red in the calculator: Not red, Red, and Tortoiseshell. If a cat is Not red, its color will be determined by the Eumelanin option. For example, if the Eumelanin option is Black and the Sex-linked Red option is Not red, then the cat will be black. However, if a cat has Red for its Sex-linked Red option then it will have an orange coat, whether it is male or female.

XXXFemales also have the option of being a Tortoiseshell. There are 6 types of Tortoiseshell: Tortoiseshell, Chocolate Tortoiseshell, Cinnamon Tortoiseshell, Dilute Tortoiseshell, Lilac-Cream Tortoiseshell, and Fawn-Cream Tortoiseshell. The Sex-linked Red option for all of these options is Tortoiseshell. The Eumelanin option for plain or Dilute Tortoiseshells can be Black; or Black, carries chocolate; or Black, carries cinnamon. The Eumelanin option for Chocolate or Lilac-Cream Tortoiseshells can be Chocolate or Chocolate, carries Cinnamon. The Eumelanin option for Cinnamon or Fawn-Cream Tortoiseshells can only be Cinnamon.

Dilution

XXXDilution changes the color of the coat. There are 3 options for Dilution in the calculator: Non-dilute; Non-dilute, carrier; and Dilute. If the Dilute option is either Non-dilute or Non-dilute, carrier, then the coat color is not affected. Non-Dilute, carrier makes the cat Non-dilute but has the possibility of passing on Dilute. If the option is Dilute, then the coat is affected. Black becomes Gray. Chocolate becomes Lilac. Cinnamon becomes Fawn. And Red becomes Cream.

XXXThe same goes for Tortoiseshells; whatever colors are in the Tortoiseshell are diluted to the new colors. A plain Tortoiseshell is patched in black and red while a Dilute Tortoiseshell is patched in gray and cream. A Chocolate Tortoiseshell is patched in brown and red while a Lilac-Cream Tortoiseshell is patched in lilac and cream. A Cinnamon Tortoiseshell is patched in red-brown and red while a Fawn-Cream Tortoiseshell is patched in fawn and cream.

Tabby

XXXTabby determines whether a Neko Warrior will be striped or not. If a Neko Warrior has stripes, those stripes will be the color the coat should be, while the body is a lighter shade of that. There are 3 options for Tabby in the calculator: Solid; Tabby, carries Solid; and Tabby. Solid means the cat will not have stripes at all. Tabby, carries solid means the cat has stripes but carries the possibility of passing on Solid. And Tabby means the cat has stripes. This option is paired with the following Tabby Pattern option. If the Tabby option is Tabby, carries Solid or Tabby, then the Tabby Pattern option will affect the cat, as well.

Tabby Pattern

XXXTabby Pattern determines what type of stripes a tabby Neko Warrior will have. There are 4 options for Tabby Pattern in the calculator: Mackerel, Classic, Spotted, and Ticked. Mackerel adds stripes similar to tiger stripes all over the body with bands on the legs and tail. Classic adds a blotched or swirling striped pattern to the body with bands on the legs and tail. Spotted adds solid spots or rosettes to the body with bands on the legs and tail. Ticked adds a freckled look to the body with bands on the legs and tail. All tabbies have an M shape on their forehead formed by the stripes.

XXXTabby can be paired with Tortoiseshell. These cats are known as Torbies in the Neko Warrior world. The stripes change color depending on the color of the patch of fur underneath. For example, if a stripe passes over a black patch the stripe will be a darker black. If the same stripe passes over a red patch, it will be a darker red. A single stripe can change color multiple times if it passes over a number of different patches on the tortoiseshell coat.

Colorpoint

XXXColorpoint determines whether a Neko Warrior is a colorpoint or not. If a Neko Warrior is a colorpoint, the face, ears, legs, and tail are a darker shade than the rest of the body. There are 3 options for Colorpoint in the calculator: Not Pointed; Not pointed, carries point; and Pointed. Not Pointed means the cat will not have colorpoint at all. Not pointed, carries point means the cat is not colorpoint but carries the possibility of passing on Pointed. And Pointed means the cat has colorpoint, so its face, ears, legs, and tail are darker.

XXXColorpoint comes in 3 variations: Point, Mink, and Sepia. The amount of contrast between the face, ears, legs, and tail versus the body varies between each. Point has the largest amount of contrast, so the face, ears, legs, and tail are very different from the body. Mink has a medium amount of contrast, so the face, ears, legs, and tail are vaguely different shades. And Sepia has the least amount of contrast, so the face, ears, legs, and tail are barely different from the body.

XXXColorpoint can be paired with Tortoiseshell and Tabby. If it is also Tortoiseshell, then only the face, ears, legs, and tail will show the tortoiseshell pattern. If it is also Tabby, then only the face, ears, legs, and tail will show the striped pattern. If it is Tortoiseshell, Tabby, and Colorpoint, the striped tortoiseshell pattern will still only appear on the face, ears, legs, and tail. The rest of the body will be a solid color, which is determined by the coat color.

White Spotting

XXXWhite spotting determines how much white is on a Neko Warrior, if any at all. There are 3 options for White in the calculator that we will be using: No white; 0-50%; and 50-100%. No white means the cat will have no white on it at all. 0-50% means the cat has white that covers up to 50% of its body. 50-100% means the cat has white that covers 50% to 100% of its body. However, no Neko Warriors will be fully white. Any that have large amounts of white will still have some colored patches on them.

XXXWhite spotting starts on the chest, belly, paws, and can be on the tail tip. As the white spreads, it will first start to cover the chest and belly before moving on up the legs. As the white spreads, it can leave patches of color behind on the legs but most often leaves patches on the back. The head and tail are the last to become white.

XXXCats with any amount of white on them are capable of having heterochromia, or two different eye colors. One eye will be blue while the other matches whatever possible eye colors are paired with their base coat. For example, a black tabby with white on it might have one blue eye and one copper eye. If a cat has no white on it at all, it cannot have heterochromia. Parents can pass on heterochromia to their kits during breeding, but only if their kits receive white spotting from their parents.

It may seem like there are a lot of rules to follow, but everything listed is straightforward.
Members that break rules will earn strikes and may be temporarily or permanently banned.

• The Neko Warriors lineart is not free to use. Only artists listed as Staff can use the lineart.

• Do not steal the lineart or any graphics used in the NK threads. Members will be reported if caught stealing.

• Do not steal any Neko Warriors already owned by someone else. Again, members will be reported if caught stealing.

• Do not beg from others for any reason. If someone is not taking no for an answer, message CS staff as needed.

• Members should not whine if they did not get the Neko Warrior they wanted. There will be more to try for later.

• Members should not whine if there aren't any new Neko Warriors available. The artists might just be busy.

• Neko Warriors cannot be fursonas. Please do not ask to make a Neko Warrior your fursona.

• If posting a Neko Warrior on another website, credit must be given to rainbowpanda101 and the artist of the design.

• Please respect everyone. Do not be rude to anyone, especially Neko Warriors Staff members.

• Do not spam. Take any chats to PM. Saying "mark" on the thread is allowed, of course.

• Do not mini-mod. Let the Staff handle any misbehavior or answer any questions posted.

• Do not beg or try to bribe the Staff for any reason. No one will get special privileges that way.

• Do not double post. Members should edit their last post if they need to. Put "EDIT" and add whatever new info is needed.

• Members can own an unlimited number of Neko Warriors but should allow others to adopt if they have quite a few already.

• Members may adopt one Neko Warrior per litter, even when more than one litter goes up at a time.

• Neko Warriors are assigned a gender but can have any gender identity or sexual preference, as decided by the owner.

• If a member no longer wants a Neko Warrior, they can PM rainbowpanda101. Unwanted NKs will go back up for adoption.

• Neko Warriors can be gifted or traded for other Neko Warriors but not for other species/currency/art/etc.

• If ownership of a Neko Warrior has changed, members must PM rainbowpanda101 so she can update the Archives.

• Members may exchange pets, items, or C$ for Catnip at any time. When sending a trade, note that it is for Neko Warriors.

• Catnip earned through exchanging pets will be put into the Bank for members to use at a later time.

• Please make sure to exchange pets, items, or C$ for Catnip before requesting Customs or Breeding slots.

• Please only purchase from the Flea Market when it says Open, otherwise your request will be denied.

• Members may also purchase from the Flea Market any time they need an item for a Custom or Breeding request.

• To be able to get a Custom, members will need to purchase or obtain a Custom Token.

• There is no restriction on how many Custom Neko Warriors a person can request.

• Members may request one Custom slot each time Customs open.

• Members may request eye color, coat color, dilution, tabby pattern, pointed, or white spotting as detailed in Genetics.

• A Custom will not be altered after it has been made, unless the design doesn't match what the member requested.

• To be able to breed, members will need to purchase or obtain a Love Token.

• Only male and female Neko Warriors can produce kits.

• There is no restriction on how many times Neko Warriors can breed.

• Neko Warriors may mate for life or breed with a different Neko Warrior each time they breed.

• Members may request one breeding room each time that breeding is open.

• When requesting a breeding, the Neko Warriors must be owned by the member(s) requesting the breeding.

• Members can only advertise for a breeding partner once per page in the main thread or Community thread.

• Please take all breeding partner discussions to PM. Discussing it in the thread would be spam.

• Partners that are breeding together must both post the breeding form, otherwise their request will be denied.

• Members breeding their own Neko Warriors can keep 1 kit from the breeding. The rest go up for adoption.

• If an owner wishes to keep more kits produced from their breedings, they must use Love Tickets.

• Partners may split the cost of a Love Token when breeding together.

• Partners will each get 1 kit from the breeding. Love Tickets cannot be used in partner breedings.

• Partners must discuss via private message who gets which kit from their breeding. The rest go up for adoption.

Neko Warriors has a 3 strikes policy. Members get 3 chances before being banned.
Strikes will have a time period. After a certain date, a strike will be removed.
However, if a member reaches three strikes before any of the strikes are removed, they will be banned.
If a member is banned for getting three strikes, they will be banned from Neko Warriors for a minimum of 3 months.
Strikes are for minor rule breaking. Stealing or other large rule breaking will get members banned permanently.

To order a breeding, all you have to do is grab the appropriate form (found below) and fill it out.
Make sure to post your form here in this thread or else it might not get seen - oh dear!
Please keep in mind that you can only request 1 breeding room each time breeding opens!

Love Token

XXXIf you would like to breed your Neko Warriors together, you'll need to have a Love Token. Love Tokens can be purchased from the Flea Market or won during events. If the Flea Market is closed when breeding opens and you'd like to breed your Neko Warrior but need a Love Token, you are welcome to purchase a Love Token at the time you request a breeding room. If you do not have Catnip and need to exchange pets, items, or C$ first, please mention so in your order form and send a trade with a note that it is for Neko Warriors.

Litter Sizes

XXXNeko Warriors usually have litters of 2 to 4 kits. The size of a litter is chosen by a random number generator. If you would like to add more kits to a litter, you may use Kit Potions. A Kit Potion adds 1 kit to a litter and can be stacked 2 times for a total of 2 additional kits. Kit Potions may be purchased from the Flea Market or won during events. If the Flea Market is closed when breeding opens and you'd like to buy Kit Potions, you are welcome to purchase them at the time you request a breeding room. If you do not have Catnip and need to exchange pets, items, or C$ first, please mention so in your order form and send a trade with a note that it is for Neko Warriors.

XXXAny extra kits received from using the Kit Potion are only added after the litter size is selected. For example, if you roll a litter of 1 and use 1 Kit Potion, you will have a litter size of 2. If you roll a litter of 3 and use 1 Kit Potion, you will have a litter size of 4. If you roll a litter of 4 and use 2 Kit Potions then you will have a litter size of 6, which is the largest size that litters can be.

Genders of the Parents

XXXOnly 1 male and 1 female Neko Warrior can produce kits together. This means that 2 males cannot breed together, nor can 2 females breed together. However, Neko Warriors are allowed to have any gender identity or sexual preference, as decided by whoever owns them. Gender identity and sexual preference are not considered when Neko Warriors are bred - only the assigned genders matter.

Ownership of Kits

XXXWhen you breed two of your own Neko Warriors together, you will only be allowed to keep 1 of the kits. Any leftover kits you don't choose will be put up for other people to adopt. If you would prefer to gift the other kits to other members instead of having them adopted out, please send rainbowpanda101 a private message telling her what members the kits are going to.

XXXIf you want to keep more than 1 kit from your litter, you will need a Love Ticket. Love Tickets allow you to keep 1 additional kit and have no limit to how many can be used at once. Love Tickets can be purchased from the Flea Market or won during events. If the Flea Market is closed when breeding opens and you'd like to buy Love Tickets, you are welcome to purchase them at the time you request a breeding room. If you do not have Catnip and need to exchange pets, items, or C$ first, please mention so in your order form and send a trade with a note that it is for Neko Warriors.

Partner Breeding

XXXMost people will probably want to breed their own Neko Warriors together, but partner breeding is also allowed. Partners are two different people who are breeding their Neko Warriors together. Partners that are breeding together must both post the breeding form but will only need one Love Token and can split the cost of it. If splitting the cost, both members must say so in their form.

XXXEach partner will get to keep 1 kit from their breeding and must discuss who gets which kit. The rest of the kits will go up for adoption for others to adopt and cannot be gifted out by the partners. If one partner wants to provide any Kit Potions to add additional kits to the litter they may do so, but they cannot split the cost of the Kit Potions with their partner. Love Tickets cannot be used in partner breedings, either.

Trait Passing

XXXThe colors and patterns of the parents will be crossed using THIS calculator. For example, let's say the father is listed as "Black, Not red, Non-dilute, Tabby, Mackerel, Not Pointed, No white" and the mother is listed as "Black, Tortoiseshell, Non-dilute, Solid, Not Pointed, 0-50% white." These traits will be imputed into the calculator and the kits will be created based on the output given. The above parents would have the results of "Toms can be black or red. Mollies can be black or tortoiseshell. Kits can be mackerel tabby or classic tabby. Kits can have under 50% white spotting or none at all." Toms are the males and mollies are the females.

Only pets that are Rare, Very Rare, or OMG So Rare from 2008 - 2013 will be accepted.
Any trades offering pets that do not meet this requirement will be canceled or edited.

All acceptable pets will be valued in Catnip as shown in this thread with 1 C$ = 5 Catnip.
For example, a Rose PPS is equivalent to 420 C$ so it would get you 1,200 Catnip.
Basically, all you need to do is multiply the C$ worth of a pet by 5 to get its worth in Catnip.

Rares are valued at the low end of a range, while Very Rares are valued at the high end.
This is applicable only to Rares and Very Rares that came out between 2008 and 2010.
For example, if the value of a pet is listed as 40 - 45 C$, a Rare would be 40 and a Very Rare would be 45.
In Catnip, that would be 200 for a Rare and 225 for a Very Rare in that range.

Rare or Very Rare rats or spiders from 2008 to 2010 will be valued at half of the value listed in this thread.
Rats and spiders are not a high priority for rainbowpanda101, so they will get you less Catnip when exchanged.
For example, if the value is listed as 40 - 45 C$, a Rare rat would be 20 C$ and a Very Rare rat would be 23 C$.
In Catnip, that would be 100 for a Rare rat and 115 for a Very Rare rat in that range.

Rares from 2011, 2012, and 2013 will be valued depending on the popularity of the pet species.
Less popular Rare pet species from 2011 - 2013 will be valued on the low end of the range.
Less popular species include bats, fish, bunnies, chameleons, chickens, deer, horses, hamsters, fennec foxes,
guinea pigs, monkeys, ponies, rats, and spiders.
Popular Rare pet species from 2011 - 2013 will be valued on the high end of the range.
Popular species include butterfly wolves, cats, dogs, dragons, lions, Malk pets, Nick pets, owls, squids, Tess pets,
trees, unicorns, and zebras.
Please do not try to argue over what pet is popular or less popular. This list is based on personal preference.

OMG So Rares will be accepted for an unlimited amount of Catnip. Basically, you'd have endless spending money.

Make sure when you send a trade to say it is for Neko Warriors!

Q: Can I be an artist/moderator/co-owner/etc?
A: Neko Warriors is going to need artists and moderators! Check the Staff section for more info.

Q: How much do you charge for Neko Warriors?
A: Regularly released Neko Warriors are completely free and are won either via first come, first serve or raffle. First come, first serve (also known as FCFS) Neko Warriors are won by whoever posts a completely filled out form first asking for a particular Neko Warrior. Raffle winners are determined by a random number generator. Custom Neko Warriors require a Custom Token, which costs 500 Catnip. Breeding two Neko Warriors together requires a Love Token, which costs 500 Catnip.

Q: What is Catnip?
A: Catnip is the currency used by Neko Warriors and can be used to buy items and accessories from the Flea Market. You can get Catnip by exchanging Chickensmoothie pets, items, or C$, or by participating in events. Make sure to read the Bank section! It shows the Exchange Rate for pets, items, and C$ to Catnip.

Q: How often can I adopt a Neko Warrior?
A: You may adopt one Neko Warrior per litter, even if more than one litter goes up at the same time.

Q: How many Neko Warriors can we own in total?
A: As of right now, there is no limit to how many Neko Warriors you can own. But please allow others a chance to adopt if you have quite a few already. If rainbowpanda101 notices certain people are adopting too many, this rule may change.

Q: What if I don't want my Neko Warrior anymore?
A: If you have a Neko Warrior that you no longer want, please send rainbowpanda101 a PM saying which Neko Warrior you no longer want. Any Neko Warriors given up by their owners will go back up for adoption so that someone else may adopt them.

Q: Can I gift/trade my Neko Warrior with others?
A: Neko Warriors can be traded for other Neko Warriors but not for other species/currency/art/etc. They can also be gifted to others. If you gift or trade your Neko Warriors with someone, please let rainbowpanda101 know so that she can update the Archives.

Q: Can we get Custom Neko Warriors?
A: Yes! Custom Neko Warriors require a Custom Token, which costs 500 Catnip. The Custom Token can be purchased from the Flea Market or won during events. You choose the eye color, coat color, dilution, tabby pattern, pointed, or white spotting as detailed in the Genetics section. A custom is made based on what information you give. All customs must abide by what is written in the Genetics section.

Q: Can we breed our Neko Warriors?
A: Yes! Breeding two Neko Warriors requires a Love Token, which costs 500 Catnip. The Love Token can be purchased from the Flea Market or won during events. Litters will have 2 to 4 kits in them, unless you use a Kit Potion, which adds one kit to a litter. Kit Potions can be stacked up to 2 times for an additional 2 kits in a litter. You will be allowed to keep one of the kits from your breeding, unless you use a Love Ticket, which lets you keep one more kit from a breeding. Love Tickets can be stacked however many times you want.

Q: Can only male and female Neko Warriors breed together?

A: Yes! You can announce once per page in the Community thread that you are looking for a partner to breed with. Just remember that all breeding discussion should be done over PM. Do not discuss partnering with someone in the thread, as that would be spam.

Q: Can I make or purchase art of my Neko Warriors?
A: Yes! That is highly encouraged, actually! If you do make or purchase art of your Neko Warriors, share it in the Community thread! It may be chosen to be showcased in the Fan Art section!

Q: Can I use my Neko Warrior's design as a Warrior OC?
A: Yes! Neko Warriors can be used as any kind of characters, but we encourage people to use them as Warrior characters! Give them names, personalities, backstories, use them in roleplays, or whatever else you'd like to do that doesn't break any of our rules!

Q: Is there a fan club for Neko Warriors?
A: A Community thread will be posted for Neko Warriors and will act as a Fanclub. Please do not post a Fanclub for Neko Warriors, as we will be posting the Community thread at a later date.
