Volux are small, fox-like creatures, with the tails and spines of dragons. They share many behaviours with domestic cats; although stealthy hunters, they are known to be affectionate with humans, and willing to travel with them for the free food!

Their colours, however, are far more extraordinary, ranging from natural browns to bold, glowing colours. Some may even develop unique traits, such as wings, horns, or different tails.

Perhaps the most interesting fact, however, is that every single volux carries a special "hidden trait". Although this trait does not appear in the volux itself, if it is bred to another volux with the same hidden trait, then some of their offspring may reveal new, even rare, characteristics! Hidden traits are displayed only as two letter combinations, which are revealed in the archive once a volux is adopted. So, until your volux breeds, you will not know what their hidden trait will cause.

When your name has been placed next to the volux you adopted, you can find your code in the archive. For raffles, I will post the winner as well as the code on the main thread.

Adoption Rules:
1) You may only adopt ONE Volux per litter
2) Unless stated otherwise, adoptions work on a fcfs ('first come, first served') basis.
3) Entries for raffle Volux will be accepted until either a set date, or until all slots are full. (this will be stated in the raffle).
4) Please note which Volux are already taken before applying. (They will have the owner's name next to their image.)
5) If you apply for a Volux which is already adopted you may apply again to adopt a different one from the litter. (If any remain.)

Please use the regular adoption form for raffle litters as well.

Once a week, you can go exploring the wilds, either by yourself or with a volux. You can find a variety of items as well as arcane, and, very rarely, you may find a wild volux! These are different to your usual dragon fox, though. In general, they have short ears, bulkier bodies, and more stern faces. Some may have distinct traits found in other wild animals; these are even more uncommon.

Wild volux are also distinct in their designs. In order to survive in their various habitats, they have very natural colours such as brown, grey, black, and white. Generally more feline in appearance, wild volux have markings limited to stripes, spots, patches, and solid colours. The occasional wild volux may show mutations such as albinism, melanism, leucism, and others as more are revealed. During events, some unusual markings may appear, such as spirals.

Once obtained, a wild volux can breed with any volux, wild or not. When bred to a domestic volux, they will produce hybrid kits with a combination of wild and domestic traits. Every time a hybrid is bred to a domestic volux, the kits will look more and more like the regular domestic volux.

Hybridisation results in special hidden traits being passed on, exclusive to the wild volux. Bizarrely, kits that inherit these traits will look like domestic volux, except for their mutations. Rare traits found on the wild volux themselves will only pass to kits of two wild volux; they cannot be found in hybrids.
