News/Updates:

(1/25/11) Temporary Close: Sorry I haven't been around this forum lately. I haven't created new birds or bumped. I just don't have much time now. I have to close this for awhile. If you ordered a bird in the last few posts I will get it to you as soon as possible. If you ordered a custom, do not worry. I will still make it for you. Sorry people who want to adopt. You'll just have to wait.

A message to my mini-mods: You may bump every so often so this thread doesn't fall off the forums for good, but other than that you can take a break.

(1/18/11) Website: Guess what! The Bird Barn, although it is small, is now a website! Sadly, it is just a step to a bigger thing and you need to have clicks for your pets to grow, but I got somewhere. Click here to go to it. Read the News/Updates on the home page to find out what's going on with the site.

(1/12/11) New Rule/Addition: The newest batches from here on out will be very limited. Once someone adopts a bird it will no longer be available for anyone else. Therefore, adopt the one you want before it is taken. On another note, these cat themed birds are leaving and new birds are coming in on the 15th! So hurry and adopt one of the cat themed ones while you can!

(1/4/11) New Year: Sorry I'm a bit late, but Happy New Year everyone! New birds will be on their way. A new brood (group of baby birds) will be available real shortly. They are limited so come back often to check if they are here.

(12/31/10) Customs Open: Customs are open again! Fill out the form and I'll get to it.

(12/30/10) Artists: I still need more applications for artists! Please post them here! I'm hoping to get this thread more up and running and I need help! Thanks.

(12/30/10) Customs Closed: Customs are closed for today, because I will be traveling. Any customs that I got yesterday and earlier, will still be worked on. Customs will be open tomorrow 12/31/10.

(12/28/10) Image Error: Due to me moving the bird pictures to a new album on Photobucket, all of the pictures have been messed up. If you have adopted a bird and still have the old code, please message me, because I will give you the new code. Sorry for any inconvenience. It's being worked on right now.

(12/25/10) New Birds: Out with the old, in with the new! Big cat themed birds have come out to play and of course, be adopted. So click here to adopt yours!

7. Critics aren't welcome here. Adopt a chubby bird or leave.

Adoption Rules

1. Fill out the form.
2. You are allowed to adopt any design I put out unless it is taken before you, but please be considerate of others.
3. If you have a bird already give some wiggle room for someone else to adopt.
4. You can adopt eggs when they are available.
5. If none are available, then you have to breed two of your birds to get eggs (See Breeding Rules).
6. Adopting is completely free.
6. If you do not want your bird(s) anymore, then tell me. Don't give them off to another person or adoption agency.

The Birds' History

Long ago, there was a scientist named James Smith who lived on an unknown island off the coast of South America. He collected all kinds of birds. He discovered these chubby birds, which were as smart as a macaw, with such radiant, unnatural colors and collected them more than any bird. James was intrigued by their coloring and patterns and wanted to create his own. He began breeding two different colored birds and didn't realize that these birds weren't accustomed to being bred with others that didn't match their coloring. The birds grew afraid of his breeding shenanigans within time and flew away. They found a deserted barn which they could stay comfortable and warm in. They bred the way they wanted until eventually they bred the way James Smith had them doing originally.

Now....

A family has moved into the house with which the barn goes with. The owners discovered all these colored birds in their barn and need to get rid of them. The family decided to adopt these birds out. The birds, being as smart as they are know what is happening and are fine with the idea. This is why they are now up for adoption.

Here you can adopt the eggs of the birds that haven't been released. There is usually only up to 4 eggs so adopt them quickly.

These will grow quicker than others to come.

Breeding Rules

1. If you want to breed two of your birds, you have to fill out the form.
2. You can't breed your bird with somebody elses bird.
3. Once bred, 2-3 eggs will be laid. You get to choose one of the eggs. The other eggs will go to an imaginary incubation center, which then we will wait for them to grow so they can be adopted.
