The Oddest Pet Shop!

Welcome to the Oddest Pet Shop V2!

Here, you will find some regular dogs and cats as well as some other animals, but there's something in the area causing some pets to mutate, and many of them are left unwanted. Will you adopt from The Oddest Pet Shop?

UPDATE

The Oddest Pet Shop has reopened. This is V2 of the thread! The Oddest Pet Shop is now Co-Owned between Bailey-Boo and Zailune. There will also be opportunities for new staff members to be appointed – see below for information regarding staff additions.

How to Adopt:

Most “normal” pets will be available for free in groups of 10 – meaning, they may be adopted up to 10 times by various members for their Oddest collections. These pets will be cycled on a monthly basis (most often the 3rd of every month).

Mutants are more rare, available in groups of 5 the most. Sometimes, a very rare mutant will appear, which can only be adopted by one person. These pets usually require use of shop currency, and are special in the sense that only you will own the pet and design, which you could at that point use for any purpose seeing that you don't share the same pet as others.

In order to adopt, you must fill out the following form:

Adoptables are adopted out by first come – first serve. When an adoptable's adopt count is maxed out, it can no longer be adopted. You can collect as many adoptables of different kinds as you'd like, but you may only adopt an individual adoptable once.

How to Order a Custom:

Customs are special pets made to your specifications, that are made only for you!

See the new “Corners” section for info on how to order customs!

Currency and Banking

You can receive many benefits and access to special services using shop currency. This includes the ability to breed two pets of your choice (those you've adopted or customs!), the ability to add accessories or items to your pets, the ability to order custom pets from various artists and the chance to get special artwork of your pets and characters! Different artists offer different services, so see the “Corners” section below!

Although many features will be available for free, such as the ability to participate in special events and adopt most pets and mutants, acquiring currency will let you do more with this shop.

The currency for this shop is treats, and treats can be acquired in multiple ways.

The treat-pet trade rate is this:
Common – 2 treats
Uncommon – 5 treats
Rare – 20 treats
Very rare – 60 treats
OMGSR – 250 treats

You can also get 5 treats for free by posting a suggestion about the shop to this thread.
This only applies once. Suggestions include: species you want to see released, items or services you'd like to be added or existing adoptable species that you'd like to see more line-arts of.

Your treat count and items will be tracked in this segment of the thread. If you are missing treats or an item for some reason, please send a PM letting me know of the mistake.

Prices are subject to change. With the addition of new items, features, staff and accepted currencies, prices are subject to continuous change. Please be aware of this, and contact a staff member if you have any issues with any changes

Special:

Breeding Potion – (will result in 4 different offspring based on your selected same-species pets. You can breed with another player's pet if given permission, this permission must be known by me as well before you can apply the potion. Please see the new Breeding section for more information.) - 10 treats

Accessories:

Small Accessory – (this magic item transforms based on your wishes (request). One small accessory for one pet per purchase) - 5 treats
Wrappings – (these wrappings come in many colors, it's entirely up to you which color to apply to your pet. Wrappings apply to the limbs of the pet.) - 5 treats
Dress – (applies a random dress to your pet. You can choose which colors the dress will show) - 5 treats

Dragon Helm - Apply a suit of dragon-themed armor to your pet! - 10 treats

Duct Tape - Tape an item of your choice to your pet. It's hilarious!* - 10 treats
*don't really do this to your pets please

Gag Item - Apply a gag item of your choice to your pet. - 5 treats
Glowing Herb - A brightly glowing herb showing a variety of different colors. Causes the area it is applied to to permanently glow brightly in the color you select. - 15 treats

Odd Slug - Depending on what you do with this, you can either add or remove limbs from your pet. - 20 treats
Orb of C'Thun - Adds or removes eyes to or from your pet. - 20 treats

Phoenix Feather - Reverts your pet to a younger form. You may age them again whenever you see fit. Can be applied to pets you've acquired at the adult stage. - 15 treats

Rainbow Apple - If eaten, will cause a change in either tongue or blood color. - 15 treats

Items can only be applied once, and cannot be reapplied to a different pet. Choose wisely which pets you'd like to accessorize or breed!

Breeding Your Pets – Additional Information

Only same-species couples may be bred.

Breeding will always result in 4 offspring.

Breeding your Oddest pets must be done with the use of a breeding potion.

Special traits of pets may pass down in breedings, but mutations that are achieved through item use must be rolled to be passed down.

Rare or above in rarity mutations achieved through item use may have less of a chance in being passed down unless a separate item is used called an “auto-pass” item, where you may have a 100% chance of a trait of your choice being passed down to one child, the rest with a roll of 50% - otherwise, rare or above traits will have a 40% (downwards 10% per level of rarity (ex. 40, 30, 20) of passing down for all offspring.

You can adopt as many of the monthly rotation adoptables as you'd like up until their counts are maxed - single rotation pets have special guidelines because they can only be adopted once by one person ^^
