What are Kabuki Kits?

___Kabuki Kits are mammals with a peculiar mutation - they have brushes for tails! The Kabuki Kits earned their name because of their facial markings and their tails. Their facial markings look very similar to facial paint worn by performers of Kabuki theater, which is a traditional Japanese dance-drama. And their tails are broad and short, just like the Kabuki brush that is used to apply loose powdered make-up on large surfaces of the face! Kabuki Kits can have several different features, which are shown below!

Facial Markings

Adoption Rules

• You can adopt 1 Kabuki Kit per adoption cycle, even if more than 1 litter goes up.
(So if there are 2 litters, you can get 1 Kabuki Kit from either litter but not 1 from both.)

• You can adopt one Kabuki Kit from the Pound per day.
(Do not adopt from the Pound if you adopted from the latest adoption cycle.)

• If you no longer want your Kabuki Kits, please PM rainbowpanda101.

edit your post and add notes at the bottom or make a new post about it.

Breeding Rules

• You can only advertise for a breeding partner once per page in this thread.

How Breeding Works

Breeding Fans

___If you would like to breed your Kabuki Kits together, you'll need a Breeding Fan from the Marketplace. If the Market is closed when breeding opens and you'd like to breed your Kabuki Kits and need a Breeding Fan, then you are welcome to purchase a Breeding Fan at the time you request a breeding room.

Litter Sizes

___Kabuki Kits usually have litters of 1 to 4 babies. The size of a litter is chosen by a random number generator. There are items in the Marketplace that increase litter sizes. The Red Folded Fan will add 2 extra babies to a litter, with a max litter of 6. The Orange Folded Fan will add 3 extra babies to a litter, with a max litter of 7. The Red and Orange Folded Fans cannot be used together! That means you can use one or the other but not both.
___Any extra babies received from using these items are added after the litter size is selected. For example, if you use a Red Folded Fan and roll a litter of 1, then the litter size would increase to 3 because the Red Folded Fan added 2 babies. If you use an Orange Folded Fan and roll a litter of 2, then the litter size would increase to 5 because the Orange Folded Fan added 3 babies.

Genders of the Parents

___Only a male Kabuki Kit can breed with a female Kabuki Kit. However, if you have two Kabuki Kits that are the same gender that you want to breed, you can use the Blue & Pink Folded Fan from the Marketplace. It will switch the gender of one Kabuki Kit permanently. But be warned! The gender of a Kabuki Kit cannot be reversed back once a Blue & Pink Folded Fan has been used!

Ownership of Babies

___When you breed two of your own Kabuki Kits together, you will only be allowed to keep one of the babies. Any leftover babies you don't choose will be put up for adoption for other people to adopt. If you use a Yellow Folded Fan when you breed, you will be allowed to keep all of the babies from the breeding.

Partner Breeding

___Most people will want to breed their own Kabuki Kits together, but partner breeding is also allowed. Partners are two different people who are breeding their Kabuki Kits together. Partners must both post the Partner Breeding Form but will only need one Breeding Fan and can split the cost of it.
___A special perk of breeding with a partner is that all of the babies produced can go to either partner, without the use of a Yellow Folded Fan. Partner breedings that do not use items will always produce two babies. Each partner keeps one baby and will discuss over PM who gets which. If partners decide to use a Red or Orange Folded Fan that guarantees them more than 2 babies, they will have to discuss who gets which babies. Be warned that some litters may have odd numbers in that case. Partners must discuss whether one of them will get the extra baby or if the extra baby will go up for adoption to someone else.

How Customs Work

___If you would like a Custom Kabuki Kits, you'll need a Custom Fan from the Marketplace. If the Market is closed when Customs opens and you'd like to get a Custom Kabuki Kits and need a Custom Fan, then you are welcome to purchase a Custom Fan at the time you request a Custom slot.
___Custom Kabuki Kits are not based on reference pictures or already pre-existing characters. You choose the gender, ear shape, whether there are whiskers or not, the color of the tail brush and handle, type of facial marking, body color, nose color, eye color, inside ear color, markings, and marking colors you want. Exact color palettes can be provided.

Q: Can I be an artist/moderator/co-owner/etc?
A: Kabuki Kits is not looking for artists, moderators, or co-owners at this time. This may change in the future.

Q: How much do you charge for your adoptables?
A: Regularly released Kabuki Kits are completely free and on a first come, first serve basis. There may be Kabuki Kits that go up for raffle during events. Other special Kabuki Kits might end up in the Marketplace for sale, as well.

Q: How often can we adopt?
A: You can adopt one Kabuki Kit per adoption cycle. An adoption cycle is when 1 or more litters go up for adoption. So if 2 litters go up, you can get 1 Kabuki Kit from either litter but not one from both litters. Customs and Breeding adoptions do NOT count towards this limitation. Please allow others a chance to adopt if you have quite a few already!

Q: What are Kabuki Koins (KK)?
A: Kabuki Koins, sometimes shortened to KK, are the currency used in the Marketplace. The Marketplace has a selection of things for you to purchase, such as breeding supplies. You can get Kabuki Koins by exchanging CS pets or by participating in events or games. Make sure to read the Bank section! It shows the Exchange Rate for pets to KK.

Q: How many Kabuki Kits can we own in total?
A: As of right now, there is no limit to how many Kabuki Kits you can own. But please allow others a chance to adopt if you have quite a few already.

Q: Can I gift/trade my Kabuki Kits with others?
A: As of right now, gifting and trading of Kabuki Kits is not allowed. This may change in the future.

Q: What is the Pound for?
A: The Pound is where Kabuki Kits go if their owners no longer want them. Kabuki Kits may also end up here because their owners broke the rules in some way. These Kabuki Kits go up for re-adoption so they can go to a new loving home. You can only adopt from the Pound if you haven't adopted from the latest adoption cycle, and you can only adopt one Kabuki Kit from the Pound per day.

Q: Can we get custom Kabuki Kits?
A: Yes! Custom Kabuki Kits require a Custom Fan, which costs 1,000 Kabuki Koins. You choose the gender, ear shape, whether there are whiskers or not, the color of the tail brush and handle, type of facial marking, body color, nose color, eye color, inside ear color, markings, and marking colors you want, and the custom is made based on what information you give.

Q: Can we breed our Kabuki Kits?
A: Yes! Breedings between two Kabuki Kits require a Breeding Fan, which costs 1,000 Kabuki Koins. You will be allowed to keep one of the Kabuki Kits from your breeding, unless you use a Yellow Folded Fan, which can be found in the Marketplace. There are also special items in the Marketplace that can be used to influence the number of babies in a breeding. You can read more about them in the Breeding section.

Q: Can only male and female Kabuki Kits breed together?
A: Yes, only males and females can produce babies. However, if there are two same gender Kabuki Kits that you want to breed, you can use a Blue & Pink Folded Fan on one of them to switch its gender permanently. But be warned! The gender of a Kabuki Kit cannot be reversed back once a Blue & Pink Folded Fan has been used! The Blue & Pink Folded Fan can be found in the Marketplace.

Q: Once I breed two Kabuki Kits, are they mated for life?
A: That's entirely up to you! Keep mated pairs that only breed with each other, or mix and match your males and females however you want!

Q: Can I breed my Kabuki Kits with Kabuki Kits owned by someone else?
A: Yes! That would be called partner breeding. You can read more about partner breeding in the Breeding section.

Q: I'm looking for a breeding partner! Am I allowed to advertise that I am?
A: Yes! You can announce once per page in the thread that you are looking for a partner to breed with. Just remember that all discussion of breeding should be done over PM. Do not discuss partnering with someone in the thread, as that would be spam.

Q: Can I make or purchase art of my Kabuki Kits?
A: Yes! That is highly encouraged, actually!

A: No, as of right now there is no fanclub!
