What Is A Cherub Cat?
A Cherub Cat is a feline-like creature with wings and a long, prehensile tail! Cherub Cats are otherworldly creatures from another dimension sent here to guard and protect others. Cherub Cats typically interact well with humans, other Cherub Cats, and other species quite well. Cherub Cats have their own unique interests and personalities that make each Cherub Cat not quite the same as the last.
Size
Most Cherub Cats are the average size of a housecat, with some smaller and bigger versions depending on each individual Cherub Cat. Ideally, most will not be taller than 12 inches or shorter than 8 inches. Exceptions are always there.
Behavior / Personality
Each Cherub Cat is different, so we cannot nail down a single trait. However, all Cherub Cats have a desire to protect, though how they carry it out depends largely on the Cat. While some Cherub Cats might decide to use pure strength to fight away enemies, more magic-inclined Cats might use potions or staves to keep threats away.
Variations & Traits
Cherub Cats are not bound by normal feline coloring limitations - some may be green, purple, brown, or have unnatural patterns waving through their fur. As far as we know, it's genetic, or, perhaps, magic. Their fur is a way of self-expression. It can be dyed, or changed, depending on the cat and their needs.
Additionally, all Cherub Cats (with a few exceptions) have feathery, angelic-like wings, and long prehensile tails. (Prehensile means they can use it to grip things.) Their tails are strong enough to support their weight, and most Cherub Cats prefer to spend their time in the air, or at least keep their paws off the ground.
Lastly, all Cherub cats have cute little swirls on their cheeks. This color corresponds with their innate magic they can use, and cannot be changed.
Feel free to accessorize your Cherub Cat to your heart's content! (Or, take off already put-on accessories!)
Due to the nature of magic, free will, and individuality, sometimes variations can...slip through the cracks of what is deemed 'normal'. And that's okay! The organization of Cherub Cats acknowledges this and does their best to ensure a smooth experience for everyone involved.
The most common, although quite uncommon in general variation of Cherub Cat is the Corrupted version. These Cherub Cats have corrupted in some ways. Some turn their faces from the light, others turn to own selfish desires, while others simply go malevolent for no foreseen reason. However, all Cherub Cats have a purpose, even the Corrupted ones - Corrupted Cherubs are allowed to be given homes, so long as the owner is willing to love and cherish them as much as a non-corrupted one.
Common traits of Corrupted Cherubs include ripped, torn, or destroyed wings, tattered bat wings, claws, and more devil-like tails. They tend to be larger, or smaller, than normal Cherub Cats.
The less common, and quite rare variation of Cherub Cat, is the Wingless version. We aren't quite sure why they happen, however some Cherub Cats are bound to the earth due to their lack of angelic wings. They usually compensate in one way, whether it be through tail skills, or extra strong magic. These Cherub Cats work just as hard at their jobs, but need a loving and understanding home that will be able to accommodate for their shortcomings!
Common traits of Wingless Cherub Cats are no wings, small/unusable wings, longer or more sturdier tails, and sturdier builds.
The rarest variation of Cherub Cat is a Cherub Dog. No one knows why, but sometimes instead of a cat forming, a dog is formed instead! While no less loyal or protective than any other Cherub Cat, Cherub Dogs have the rather obvious difference being in their species. Due to this, they may be ostracized or feared by their fellow Cherub Cats. Additionally, they are known targets of Corrupted Cherub Cat's bullying or malignant ways, and need to be protected or kept under supervision.
Common traits of Cherub Dogs are folded ears, energetic mannerisms, scars, and curled tails. They tend to be much, much bigger than Cherub Cats.
