Welcome to the ButterFish pond. What are ButterFish, you may wonder? Well, ButterFish are as they seem; butterfly and fish hybrids. They were created in a lab - illegally, I may add - but we thought it unethical to kill off an entire species, even if it is artificial. You see, they work like any other species; if they weren't so... Unnatural, they'd probably be dismissed like any other animal. The point is, they're weird, but they're also cool; and what's cooler than having your own ButterFish pet?
Well, there are probably a few things... But who cares? Winged-fish pets, man!

• All Tess' rules apply.
• You can not steal, copy, or edit these adopts in any way. Please keep the link attached to the ButterFish, so others can find the Pond too.
• ButterFish cannot be traded for on-site or off-site currency, but they can be traded by exchange of other ButterFish related items (blossoms, items, ButterFish, etc.). I should be informed of all trades and their conditions.
• Only apply for one ButterFish per litter.
• For FCFS (first come, first serve) litters, you may only adopt once a day. So, if there are two litters up at a time, you can still only adopt one ButterFish.
• Do not rush me or any of the other staff, no body enjoys it.
• If a ButterFish does not belong to you, do not use it. No exceptions.
• Please, no spam. This thread is exclusively for forms and stuff, everything else goes on the fanclub thread.

• Everyone must be respected; being part of the staff does not mean you are better than anyone.
• Artists should not use very dark colours (i.e. black, navy blue), or any colours that make the line art hard to see.
• If a staff member is absent for more than a month without notice, they will be removed for their position.
• Minor line-edits can be made, so long as the artist gets my permission first.
• A guest artists' term ends after they have made five litters, or after the month is over; whichever comes first.
• Artists cannot enter for a ButterFish in a litter they have made.

Welcome to the... Um... Lab? Well, okay, this isn't actually the lab, that's next door. However, the things I'll be explaining here were discovered in the lab, so, you know... Close enough! The point is, you'll need a ButterFish education to get around here.
Wait, I know; this is the information centre! Sorry, I had a brain fart... Okay, okay, I know. I'm getting off track. Just go look at the displays, they'll explain the different breeds of ButterFish. The discovered ones, anyway, there are probably so many more! Exciting, right?


Dᴇғᴀᴜʟᴛ

This is the default ButterFish, with normal wings and a normal tail. ButterFish with only these characteristics are considered to be of the 'default' rarity.

Cᴏᴍᴍᴏɴ

Appear in litters often, available for customs. ButterFish with any one of these characteristics are considered to be of the 'common' rarity.

Uɴᴄᴏᴍᴍᴏɴ

Appear in litters occasionally, available for customs. ButterFish with any one of these characteristics are considered to be of the 'uncommon' rarity.

Appear in litters every once in a while, available for customs. ButterFish with any one of these characteristics are considered to be of the 'rare' rarity.

Only available during events, cannot be ordered for customs. ButterFish with any one of these characteristics are considered to be of the 'limited' rarity.
Some of these may only work with the 'normal' breed.

Welcome to the Adoption Centre. Here, you can adopt your very own ButterFish; for free!
A new litter will go up every Wednesday; code drops for the previous litter will happen just before a new one is released. You've just got to fill out the provided form, and you'll be added to the list of contestants!
Please note that winners are chosen by an online number randomizer, I have no say in who wins, so please do not complain if you don't get the ButterFish you'd entered for. You'll have plenty of other chances to get one. Only enter for one ButterFish per litter, unless I say otherwise.

The litter name is always found above the raffle end date.

If you wish to purchase something, all you've got to do is fill out and post the form provided; if it is complete, I will notify you of it's acceptance and complete the transaction, withdrawing the correct amount of blossoms from your bank and depositing your new item.

Though they look uncannily like the blossoms we use as currency, know

with great certainty that they are not the same things. These blossoms are
producers of a chemical that gets ButterFish "in the mood"; they hardly
ever breed without them. A side effect of being an artificial species, I suppose.

Most items here won't stay forever, so you've got to snag what you want when you've got the chance!

Our scientists have found a way to customize ButterFish into anything imaginable; you can get one for yourself, but they're pricey, so you'd better save up those blossoms! If you wish to order a custom, first make sure you've got the blossoms, then fill out and post the form provided; if it is complete, I will notify you of it's acceptance and complete the transaction, withdrawing the correct amount of blossoms from your bank and placing your form in one of the custom slots.

Though the heart of The ButterFish Pond is our community, we also need a brain to control the body. The brain consists of the staff, who work hard to keep the Pond running and make it more enjoyable for everybody! As the Pond gets going, I'll be the only one working, but I can't be forever. For this reason, I've decided to start the season with the hiring of staff! I won't be accepting everyone, only a select few will get in, and this is because I believe they have the best qualifications. Please do not complain if you don't get the position this time around, you'll have more chances, I promise!

Artist applications are open; they'll close when I decide they should.


Artist

An artist must have at least basic knowledge of cropping and colouring layers. Artists are the heart of the team; we can't run an adoption centre without pets to adopt! An artist will receive 100 blossoms for every litter they submit, as well as a free self-made custom when they join the team! Not all applications will be accepted. Please remember that I have every right to turn down your application, for whatever reason. To apply, PM me this form;

General Moderator

General moderators watch over the thread and enforce the rules, as well as inform me when one has been broken, so I can manage strikes and bans. If you have a question, you can ask a general moderator. General moderators will receive 100 blossoms every month, and will receive a free custom when they join the team. They also will have the option to enter a ButterFish for the annual staff litter, when the time rolls around. To apply, PM me this form;
