★ ｉｎｆｏｒｍａｔｉｏｎ ★
Vilkians are unique, independent creatures possessing the combined assets of both deer, wolves, and some mythical creatures. Each Vilkian is different like humans, each having their own opinions, likes, and dislikes. Their appetites vary, as some have been known to eat solely meat, though others primarily fruits, leaves, and berries. Some Vilkians tend to be more domesticated than others, occasionally preferring prepared pet food over freshly killed prey of their own. Due to environmental adaptations and mysterious outside forces, Vilkians may possess very similar or completely undiscovered physical attributes. While some of these traits are considered more rare than others, they all tend to have hooved front feet and pawed hind legs. Most creatures posses a set of horns, while others have mutated over time and may have no horns at all! Each can have an infinite number of color variations and markings, along with unique personalities and interests.


★ ｈｉｓｔｏｒｙ ★
Vilkians are a nature-based species, and most are born directly from The Tree of Life, a mystical plant found only in the deepest reaches of the forest. There are many of these trees around the world, though only one is known to produce Vilkians. When the magical plant blossoms, hundreds of tiny saplings are dropped, similar to seeds or fruit. These pods must be handled with extreme care, as each one contains its own individual Vilkian. The Tree of Life's Blossoming is a special occasion that is often celebrated within Vilkian culture.


★ ｌｉｆｅｓｔｙｌｅ ★
After a Vilkian has blossomed, it may decide to travel many different ways. Some creatures may remain in packs with relatives, settling around The Tree of Life and relying on it for resources as well as awaiting new young to raise into their wild ways. Others may stray away from the pack and settle independently, though many of these Vilkians tend to be more aggressive than those living with multiples of the species. As of recent years, however, various Vilkians have decided to reside alongside caring and warm-hearted caretakers, choosing a life of luxury over the wilderness and behave more as a pet.


★ ｂｒｅｅｄｉｎｇ ★
As a Vilkian comes of age, they may decide to search for a suitable mate to settle down with. After finding their match, they will travel with their lover(s) to visit what is referred to as The Breeding Den- a cozy little cave just West of The Tree of Life. Inside, couples will roam about the caverns until discovering a comfortable spot in which to mate, planting their blossom seeds in that area's soil afterwards. Information on the actual mating process is scarce, although we know it includes the use of magic and that Vilkians tend to sing or hum music while mating, leading us to believe it may be some sort of elaborate dance. The Breeding Den is rather small, however, which may somewhat limit its couple capacity per mating season. Couples will always wait until the time designated as 'mating season' before breeding because these particular times are those in which the soil is softest and therefor the safest for Vilkian seeds to be planted in.

Vilkians can be resold and retraded, but transfers will not be moderated by the mods- determining the worth of your pet is entirely up to the individual's owner. If you no longer wish to own your Vilkian(s) and do not feel like reselling or readopting them, please PM one of the mods so that your Vilkian can be put up for re-adoption and introduced to a new, happy home. Make sure to notify a main mod when taking part in any transaction so that the changes can be officially archived.

Drawing your own and others' Vilkians is allowed and even encouraged, though proper credit and some sort of link back to the main thread must be given if any art or official adopts are posted outside of CS. Commissioning art or creating lines / your-character-here's of the species is permitted, though exploiting any other monetary gain from The Tree of Life or any of its concepts or claiming any as your own is strictly forbidden and you will be banned and all of your Vilkians and petals will be confiscated. Recoloring, editing, or tracing any official art is also against the rules.
