Species Name: The grelifcent (grell-lif-eh-cent)
Gender Ratio: Male 30% , Female 70% (NO GELDING)
Evil or Nice Ratio: Evil 1%, Nice 99%
Behavior: Despite their intimidating looks, these creatures are rather respectable towards prey and allies. When they hunt, they do not do so for their own pleasure. They instead hunt only old or weak creatures. This is only because they must do so to survive and provide offspring for many generations to come. When approached by a human, they are not aggressive if the human poses no threat to them or their young. They can even become companions with a human and hunting allies.
Height: This large creature is 6'2 when standing on all fours
Weight: From 380 to 550 kilograms (840 to 1,210 lb)
Subspecies: Equus ferus
Diet: They do not feast on meat or plants, but rather instead they consume the souls of other creatures.
Backstory: It is said that long ago there was a horse named Regal, a mighty Appaloosa Stallion. He was the largest of his herd, being about 6 feet in height ad weighing around 1,000 pounds. Despite how large and menacing this male seemed, he was quite kind and was known for his wisdom. The herd was threatened by many predators, the biggest threat being the grey wolf pack not far from where the herd nested. Regal tried his best to calm the hungry predators, but they could not be persuaded. Finally, the wolves tricked the large stallion into coming with them to talk out an agreement. Even though he was a strong horse, he was taking down and feasted on by the wolves. This angered the herd, causing them to attack and slaughter every last wolf. That is when Elita, the mate of Regal, told her fellow members of the herd to return to where they once rested. The herd was too angered by the death of their valued stallion, and with this in mind, went on a slaughtering spree. They killed every wolf that crossed their path, innocent or not. Before Elita died when attempting to stop the horses, she laid a curse on the grounds they walked. Sickness soon consumed the angered horses. After the last horse died, Regal rose from the dead. His body had changed, the skin rotted away from his face, fur blooming around his neck and legs. This was the birth of the Witherings.
