[ STARFRUIT ]
Starfruit are alien lifeforms that spliced their DNA with fruit and animals native to Earth. Most Starfruit's exhibit animal-like tails and traits while their biology and fur colors/patters are completely different than that of any animal or plant on earth. Their bodies are short and stout, and their fur smooth and coarse. It's rare to find a Starfruit with fluffy fur or hair of any kind. They've been known for being great domestic pets, mostly for their great companionship and loyalty. They're also quite docile. Selective breeding and mutations have given Starfruit's various appearances, much like we've done with breeding dogs and cats. Maybe you'll find one that suits your fancy?

✦ Unless given permission by me do not make your own Starfruit or use my base to make adopts.
✦ If a Starfruit is not listed in the archives it does not exist. Remember that.
✦ Do not breed your Starfruit on your own.
✦ You're allowed to own as many Starfruit as you like but are limited to four legendary traited Starfruit.
✦ Please PM Dave if you gift a starfruit to someone and to what owner.
✦ Breedings/cooldowns/health defects do not reset if given to another owner.
✦ You may add items to your Starfruit but they will not be listed in the archive. Do not give them extra body parts like wings even if they're "fake".
✦ Do not remove the transparent "CODE-" on any Starfruit forms.

✦ Do not quote your forms, item uses, once-a-day compost digs, or with anything else unless told specifically to do so.

Starfruit batches/litters are always raffle-type batches. Until the end date, forms can be submitted to enter the drawing for the Starfruit they want. Any extras added to the form will earn you a ticket each and you have a limit of five extras/extra tickets(extras increase your chances of winning a starfruit). Things like personality, history, a playlist, a poem etc. count as extra and do not have word limits or minimum requirements per section.
You may pretty up your form but do not remove the "CODEBATCHSTARFRUITENTRY" or any of the other sections.
You can try out for one Starfruit from each batch/litter and there's typically three to six Starfruit per batch. Each batch is usually tied together by same pallet, same markings, and/or same body types/a mix of two.

Starfruit of the same batch are considered siblings and will show up on their Heritage as such.
Any Starfruits not tried out for by their end date will be sent to the pound.

Don't remove anything else; your entry mite not count otherwise.

Switch
Temporarily switches your Starfruit's biological gender for breeding purposes.
Single use item. Will cause the Starfruit it's applied to to go into a ten day breeding cool down
(10 days instead of 5 originally).
Starfruit cannot be bred again during this cool down.
Has a 1/10 chance of working on Starfruit with legendary traits. If failed they still go into cool down to recover.

Breeders Luck
Single use item. Guarantees the largest possible litter of Starfruit when breeding a pair/bunch (six)
Has a 1/10 chance of working on Starfruit with legendary traits.

Steroids
Single use item. Allows the Starfruit this is applied to to gain five extra breeding slots but
any offspring they make will be infertile and unable to breed.
15 credits

Selective Breeding
Single use item. Allows you to choose a one trait type that one of the
breeding parents has to pass down.
Will be applied to all offspring.
Has a 1/40 chance of working on Starfruit with legendary traits.

Currently credits can only be obtained through the Compost Heap.
Other ways to obtain credits will arise such as Challenges, Training, and Events... But that stuff is a long ways off.
There's still things I need to implement in the species before we can even think about getting into those fun mini-games.

Converting Credits will not be available until I've sorted out a good system. My apologies!

Retirement
You love them but don't use them... Maybe it's time for retirement?
Regardless of reason (infertile, maxed breeding, no room left in your branch etc.)
you can retire a Starfruit you own instead of gifting it, trading it, or selling it.
You can not use or remove a Starfruit from retirement nor will they go to any other owner.
They'll live forever and in peace with all the other retired Starfruit on this farm!

Any Starfruit from the nursery that have not been claimed or any unwanted/confiscated Starfruits will go here.
They essentially work just like regular Batches do but their contests are short, only lasting 24 hours, and you cannot add extras to your form. The item "extra luck" does not apply to Pound Starfruits.
You can adopt one Starfruit from the pound every other day.

Take a look around, there's bound to be something good in here!
You can look in the compost heap once a day to possibly find items, Starfruit, and credits to spend at The Shop.
Sometimes you find nothing, other times you find tons of things. It's all up to chance!

Your once-a-day compost dig will reset at 1am central standard time!
Heap results are pulled everyday @ 6pm central standard time by Fenn.
Any results afterwords will be rolled by me.

[ BREEDING ]

Starfruit breeding is a delicate business, but when done right it can bare a hefty load of fruit! Parents must be of opposite sexes to breed, but don't be fooled - they can easily change their physical genders for breeding. The only down side is that they have a cool down of ten days to recover.
The largest amount of yield you can have is six offspring. The smallest yield is two.
Staff will roll a number between two and six to determine what size bunch you will have.

Uncommon, rare, and very rare traits are rolled via a random number generator to see if said trait will pass down to any of the offspring and if it does they will roll again to see how many get that trait. There are items you can buy to insure a cretin trait type passes down (selective breeding) but be cautious, some of these items will not work on Starfruit with legendary traits! We have yet to find one with said traits, but you'll know when we do.

Other;
✦ Starfruit, unless stated otherwise, can breed 10 times regardless of gender.
✦ Starfruit can breed once every five days unless on gender-switch cool down.
✦ Only users who own the parents of the breeding have first pick of the litter.
✦ Owners of parents can only chose one out of the created Starfruit to own.
✦ Owners can only gift one of the created starfruit to another user.
✦ If you do not claim the children you want to keep/gift within 3 days, they will be put into the pound.
You may not ask for them back unless someone offers to gift you one.

Health defects
Please consider your Starfruit's heritage. If the parents share a common ancestor
(grandparents, great-grandparents, or any Starfruit with their ID# listed in your Starfruits heritage list) they have a high chance of gaining a defect to their health.
