P R O L O G U E

There was only one lion to ever emerge from the lake....and he became legend. A rare freak of nature who's very birth should have caused his death. But, this crazy fluke accident was just the first of several to follow.

The lake of eternity began to slosh upon the shoreline, kicking up high winds, crazy storms and high waves. Panic overthrew many, as the waves who's touch burned like fire, crashed down towards them. The water itself turning dark and grey and mucky before spewing out a small and fragile figure. It's dark form lay lonesome on the beach, small and frail. The body of a cub who lay unconscious as the waters of the lake swirled in shallow pools around. Ecko, was there to greet the figure, picking the body gently from the sand and bringing it to safety. His pensive eyes looked down upon the child, wondering if it was still alive....

But, no sooner had he left the shore, then another shout called about a second body....then a third. Before long a group of several cubs had washed up on shore, all their bodies small and un-moving. They were all dead. But the days occurrences did not stop there. For inside the lake shone a bright light that slowly moved towards the surface before floating above the water in a perfect sphere. The sphere began to pulse before letting out a shock wave who's energy brought the dead cubs back to life. All their eyes burst open, glowing white and pure. Their bodies floating from the cave floor they rested upon and remained hovering a few feet off the ground. A loud boom shook the planet, and finally the light disappeared, the cubs returned to the ground and their white eyes extinguished.

Phycodurus is not very accustomed to the
elements she possesses. She is somewhat
afraid to use them for the fact that she
does not understand them and does not
want to harm anyone. However, she is
learning how to understand and control
them with the help of Ecko, Kaida, and
Khuza. Kaida still seeks her a mentor in
the element of water.

Fire:
Heat Armour- an aura of extreme heat
surrounds Phy. It is too hot to touch and
can be used to protect herself from both ice
and water attacks. The extreme heat evap-
orates both substances into steam upon con-
tact and causes severe burns to flesh. Usually,
this builds up to an outburst known as blaze.
Blaze- when she is extremely upset or in a state
of extreme emotion, fire bursts out around her
in a ring. This is either a very weak attack or a
very powerful one. She does not know how to
control this power yet and is very baffled by this
ability.
Water:
Water Vale- this is very similar to her heat
armour in the sense that water surrounds her.
If hit by a fire or magma element, the flame is
put out. However, this causes some of the
water to evaporate. The amount depends
on the intensity of the heat.
Water Whip- this is caused when water
surrounding her tail is flicked when she lashes
her tail, creating a long whip-like entity that
inflicts a stinging pain in the area where hit.
Fire + Water:
Steam Field- this is caused when both heat armour
and water vale are in effect simultaneously. The
extreme heat of the heat armour evaporates the
water vale and creates a thick and blinding field of
steam.

"The Mountain"

I was born in a forked-tongued story,
Raised up by merchants and drugstore liars.

Phycodurus knows what she wants and knows it in her heart. Her two sun-colored orbs scream with longing when she crosses something she wants or believes she wants something. She will sit in her den thinking about what ever it is but never making a move towards it. She is too uncertain to chase after her dreams. Too afraid of the world she now lives in.

The leafy little cub is very uncertain about the world. She does not remember the events of her past- and maybe that's a good thing- only of how everything began for her. The visions off the dark, dangerous waters flood in the back of her mind every time she closes her eyes. Due to this, she is timid and kind of shy.

Phycodurus wants to be outgoing, though. She wants to open up and explore the world she has been given a second chance to know. The cub cannot bring herself to do this, however. Everything looms over her head and it frightens her. Once one gets to know her, they will find that she is a very sweet and caring lion with a heart of gold.

Phycodurus is a very strong willed lioness who lacks the courage to pursue her will. She is timid when it comes to entering and greeting life and it's challenges. The little lion would much rather live in a world of warmth and safety. The violent and terrifying beginning of her life imprinted upon her, making her believe that that is how all the world is. While she is still full of life and love and laughter, that fear looms heavily over her.

The Day of My Birth

All I remember is the brief vision of violent, murky water. The dark waters swirled around me before a calm and settling darkness over came me. I welcomed it quickly as an escape from the danger that swirled around me. I didn't know I had died. Nor that it had been centuries since I had been in that water. I opened my eyes to feel warm waters tugging at my fur. I had emerged from the darkness on the shore of a beautiful place. I was greeted by warm faces and many lions. Other cubs were there, too. I thought I'd found home. Then a massive lion approached us.
"Little ones," his voice boomed, but held wisdom, "Now is not your time. Your lives have yet to even begin. As the Eldest Lion, I grant you all life. Retreat back to a world which you do not yet know."

I opened my mouth to protest. I liked it here! I didn't want to go back! The waters were dark and terrifying. They wanted to eat me, not greet me. I didn't even think about what he had said, too panicked about going back to actually listen to his words. Before I was able to say anything, a great fire inside me lit and I was rushed away from the beautiful place. The great lion's last words echoed in my mind:

"Do great good in your lives."

The fire inside me burned more and more intensely. My vision eventually turned white, and I was unable to see anything at all. The fire threatened to burst from inside me, and it took all I could not to cry out. I was terrified. I couldn't see anything but whiteness and all my insides burned. I just wanted it to end.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, the pain began to ebb away and slowly my vision returned. I felt myself be rested on hard stone, and now I could see that the other cubs I had seen were there as well. I began to panic. My mind buzzed with thoughts and questions, but I couldn't get anything to work. Then I noticed there were many more lions than just us cubs.
One among the crowds stood forward. A white lion with blazing patches. When I saw him, I was cast back to what had just happened. The blinding whiteness and the blazing fire inside. Yet, despite my fear of him, I felt myself drawn to him. There was a kind of likeness in his white eyes. It was as though he knew a part of us that we had yet to even comprehend.


Relations
Arcturus
The jailer has always intimidated Phycodurus. She is unsure around him, though she knows she has no reason to be. The plasma that emanates from him is unknown to her, and that frightens her. However, she is trying to be more bold around him.
Ecko
Ecko is special to Phycodurus. Other than the other cubs, he was the first lion she saw upon return to the material world. She sought comfort from the first and often views him as a father figure. If something goes awry, she will rush to him for comfort and protection.
Ethereal
Phycodurus looks up to her alpha. She believes he is very fair and wise for his age and holds a deep respect for him having to take the rank at such a young age. She hopes she can become more like him and get out from under the dark cloud that looms over her head.
Kaida
The kindly cub trainer may look scary, but she is like a mother figure to Phycodurus. Her(Kai) calm and motherly atmosphere brings about a comfort to her(Phy) that she(Phy) feels she(Phy) cannot get anywhere else. Phycodurus lives with Kaida in her den.
Khuza
Phycodurus thinks Khuza is great. He's not very energetic and is kind of laidback. She likes spending time with the male lion. She likes listening to his tales of battle, even though they scare her. He's one of the few lions she'd call a friend.
Kilan
The massive blue lion terrifies Phycodurus. She immediately hides when the horned lion is around, hoping that he will not find her. She watches him as he collects items, and she wonders what he does with them, but she does not want to find out.
Terra
Phy is happy to be able to call this chill male her friend. She finds him to be a very interesting lion with wonderful stories about the wonders of life, instead of those of battle. While he was a little scary to her at first, it wasn't hard for her to be able to warm up to the friendly male.
Xochipilli
Being a fellow cub, Phycodurus feels a kinship with Xochipilli. She feels he is a brother of sorts, but knows they are very different. She will hang around him, often following him like a silent shadow until he tells her to leave.
