Hello and welcome to lite adoptables!

Lites are creatures that have a lot to do with dreams. They all have one goal: to achieve their own dream.

After you've adopted a lite, you need to help them achieve their dream! There are occasional raffles for free dreams and ingredients, as well as many other ways to get them! You must mix the dreams and ingredients together to try and get your lite's dream! Once your lite's dream has been reached, the dream will "surround" your lite in a way and you will get another image of them with it, feel free to use whichever one!

Don't post lites on any other website or forum before asking permission. Whenever you do post them on Chicken Smoothie or show them off in your signature, please link it back!

Species Description

Lites are small creatures that catch dreams! They are the ones that create our dreams, though it's quite by accident! All lites have a dream they wish to achieve. By catching and combining dreams they are trying to reach their goal. While doing this mixing they often create doubles of dreams. They also release any dreams that didn't turn out the way they wanted it to. Because of this our dreams are nice and varied!
We are lucky enough to experience dreams every night, but lites can only experience one, so it very important that the one they experience is their dream. (Even if they can only experience one dream, they can experience that specific one many times.) It is also good to note that the dream is only the essence of the real dream. With lites, and any other animal too, the dream is only the guideline for the actual one we experience. Our subconscious fills in the rest. This is why dreams often seems to reflect our recent and past experiences. So even if your lites dream seems to be something as boring as a stone, it's really much more!

In the picture you can see the plains where dreams and nightmares live. The plains are home to many dangers. Even just as an environment the plains are deadly, full of deep drops, and other dangers. Mysterious shadowy creatures flit around and nightmares (which can be aggressive) lurk behind every corner. Despite all this lites will visit the plains in hopes of finding their dreams.

Fun fact: Once lites reach adulthood, they don't age!

The currency is nightmare dust and dream dust. Dream Dust can be gotten by trading in pets for it, but nightmare dust isn't that simple. It's even harder to get, so of course it's harder to buy. At times there are special offers when you can get nightmare dust for pets.

Price: Depends on what dream it is a fragment of.
Description: Dream fragments aren't misty and foggy like dreams themselves, but resemble ice. After a piece of dream has been separated from the rest of the dream for a couple of minutes unless it finds a new dream to attach to, the fragments become like blocks of ice. They melt about ten times quicker when placed on your palm and become mist-like once more. When they touch a dream, they melt almost instantaneously.
Most lites never reach their goal because of how dangerous dream hunting is. They try to make due with fragments of dreams that can be found floating around normally, though they are a lot less effective, to the point that you could almost call it noneffective.

Breeding

Lites require nests to breed, however they are extremely picky about which nest they pick. This is why you can rarely get your lites to breed on your own, but our nests are fine-tuned to fit your lite's every desire! If any nests are open feel free to send in an application.

As in the real world, lites have recessive ('hidden') genes. Some offspring might inherit these hidden genes as visible genes, however this is rare. If the litter's grandparents are known, the litter will be more likely to show these recessive genes (which, though visible in the grandparent, were not visible in the parent). Scientists who study lites are yet to discover why this happens.

You may breed any two of your lites, or one of your lites with someone else's. After you have breed, that lite cannot breed again for two weeks, and the newborn lites are the same.
Lites don't have a specified gender (though you can give them one), so any two lites are okay. Usually litters have two lites. (More or less is possible, though rare.)
