An Adoption Center for Aquatic Things

Have you ever been fascinated with life in the pond? The ducks, geese, and snakes are fabulous, but what about life below the surface? Sure, you've probably seen the tadpoles. Maybe you've even caught a glimpse of a water beetle diving into the pool's muddy depths. But did you know that the larvae of dragonflies spend the first 1-3 years of their life aquatically? Or that salamanders start out as tadpoles just like frogs do? If these things interest you, then you've come to the right place. From tadpoles to minnows, we have it all!

So what are you waiting for? Dive on in!

Just like anywhere, we have some rules. They aren't hard to follow, so please be sure to read them!

1. Be polite to EVERYONE. Everybody wants to be treated nicely, right? We're all friends here, so lets try to keep things peaceful.

2. Do not discriminate the staff, lineart, or this adoption center in general. If you don't like what we have or what we do here, you don't have to adopt from us.

3. This isn't a place to discriminate other adoption centers either. Saying things like "_____ adopts suck! People should adopt from Frog Pond instead." Will earn you a strike.

4. Art theft is not tolerated here. That means you cannot color or edit the designs without permission from me, take anyone else's pets without being given them, or generally steal the design in any way.

5. Do not claim the Frog Pond adoption center as your own. Adequate credit must be given where it is due.

6. Do not complain about anything here. This includes going on about how bad your day was, how you didn't get chosen as staff, how there are no custom slots left, etc. This will be taken as fishing for attention or gifts and will earn you a strike.

7. Do not beg. It's quite annoying and will not get you what you want. It may even result in a strike.

8. Do not mini mod. It is seen as rude, and we already have staff members for this job.

9. Please don't spam. Spam includes (but is not limited to) one word posts like "Bump" or "Marking!", double posting, useless posts such as "I love this place!" and nothing else, and advertising other adoption centers.

10. Do not pressure staff to finish your breeding, make more litters, etc. We have things to do outside of CS, and those things come first.

So, how does this work anyway?
To put it simply, there are three things that you can earn by breaking the rules. These are called Warnings, Strikes, and Bans. Depending on the severity of the rule breaking, different punishments may be given.

A Warning is given when a minor rule is broken once. This might be something like a one-word post, or any sort of minor spam. If you get three Warnings, you will receive one Strike.

A Strike is given when a larger rule is broken, or when you have received three Warnings. Breaking a larger rule can include (but is not limited to) advertising another adoption center on this thread, or making a rude comment towards someone. Once you receive three Strikes, you will be given a Ban.

A Ban is given when three Strikes are received or when a very important rule is broken. Breaking a larger rule can include (but is not limited to) art theft, or discriminating/being rude to/impersonating staff members. You may receive a temporary ban (these can be as short as a few hours to as long as several months) or a permanent ban depending on the severity of your rule breaking. Being banned means that your staff position will be temporarily revoked (if you are in fact staff) and that you will not be allowed to post on any of the Frog Pond threads/Join Me's/et cetera until your ban has been lifted. If you have received a permanent ban, your staff position (again, if you are in fact staff) will be permanently revoked and all of your creatures will be taken from you and given to other players. You will not receive them back nor be able to use their codes.

Really, as long as you follow all of the rules you should be perfectly fine.

This is the main area that you will adopt from. It's not large, but its definitely bigger than your average puddle. We have a variety of creatures here, some being rarer than others. Check out the Field Guide to see all of the species here (the linearts for a several species aren't yet finished, so please be patient while we create them.)

Before you adopt, why don't we go over some of the specific rules for this area?

1. You may only adopt one creature each time a new litter (or group of litters) is released.
2. The form must be filled out completely. "WIP" may be posted in the Name field, but not the Gender field.
3. You may not edit the number on your adoption form. If you've messed up, you may quote the form that you have posted and correct it in your second post. It is OK to double post in this scenario.
4. Please don't ask when the next litter will be up. Our artists are hard at work making it!
5. Please do not complain if the creature that you wanted has been taken. It makes others feel bad and is likely to get you a warning.
6. The codeword must absolutely be spelled correctly (punctuation excluded). If you make a typo on the codeword, you are allowed to quote your post and correct it in the second post. Again, it is OK to double-post in this scenario.
7. Last but not least, please don't ask me to PM your code to you. Your code can be retrieved here. Note: Do not use the codes for creatures that do not belong to you.

Welcome to The Bucket! This is the place where all of the creatures from banned users or that were left over from litters go. Why is it called the bucket? Well, that's because it's literally a bucket. We can't afford to keep them anywhere better, so they all have to stay in the same place. Often the species aren't compatible, and there's a pretty big risk of the weaker creatures getting eaten. Will you open your heart and adopt one of these poor animals?

I know what you're thinking… "More rules?" But we need them. These ones are short, so bare with me!

1. You may only adopt one creature every 7 days.
2. "WIP" may be posted in the Name field, but not in the Gender one.

Welcome to the breeding tank! Ever thought two of your creatures would make a perfect couple? Well, you've come to the right place! Here we have aquariums where we can breed your creatures for you.

Our process here is pretty simple.
- Every month, we will put up forms that you can fill out to reserve your creatures a spot.
- We do two breedings every week.
- Each week of the month we'll finish the selected breedings, and at the end of the month the forms will go up again.
- In order to breed your creatures you must have purchased a breeding potion in advance.
- You can choose to breed two of your own creatures, or one of your creatures with another user's.
- Once your breeding is finished, it will be displayed here for the rest of the week.
- You may choose to keep two creatures from your breeding, and the rest will be available for others to adopt.
- If you are breeding your creature with someone else's, then each of you may choose to keep only one.
- Adopters whose creatures have not participated in the breeding can only adopt one fish from the breeding tank each week.
- If the remainder of your litter has not been adopted by the end of the week, the last few creatures shall be moved to the Bucket.
- We use a random number generator to determine how many creatures are in each litter.

1. The entire form must be filled out in order for it to be valid.
2. You may only have one breeding which contains your creatures going on each month.
3. Do not complain if your breeding is not chosen. It's quite rude.
4. Do not ask if your breeding has been finished. It will be posted here when it has.
5. You may not repost/quote your breeding form. We have seen it!
6. You must have purchased a breeding potion prior to posting your form.
7. If you're breeding your creatures with a partner's, they must have agreed to the breeding.
8. 3rd Gen. and PPS creatures cannot breed.
9. Siblings (as in from the same breeding tank breeding, not regular adoption litter) cannot be bred with one another.
10. The creatures must be male and female, of course.
11. And naturally, the creatures must be the same species to breed, unless you are using a special potion.

Breeding Potion
This item will cause two creatures of opposite genders to have 2-6 offspring.
Costs 1,000 Snail Shells each.


Species-defying Breeding Potion
This item will cause two creatures of different species to have 2-6 offspring.
Why is it so expensive? A breeding between two creatures of opposite species is nearly genetically impossible, and the DNA of the creatures must be altered in order for a breeding to occur. This is an expensive potion to make, and therefore must be expensive to buy.
Costs 7,000 Snail Shells each.


Gender Switch Potion
Did you ever regret the choice you made when you decided the gender of your creature? Or perhaps you inherited a creature that had already been assigned one. Names can be changed easily, but genders are a whole different matter. Each potion can change the gender of one creature to the gender that is opposite of its original.
Costs 500 Snail Shells each.


Color Inverter Potion
Ever think your creature would look cool with its colors inverted? This potion will do just that!
Costs 350 Snail Shells each.


Adult Potion
Do you have an FLS creature that you wish were grown up? Then this potion is for you. Changes one FLS creature to its adult form.
Note: Does not work on creatures who were not assigned and adult form, e.g. most insect larvae.
Costs 950 Snail Shells each.

Welcome to the Events page! We celebrate a lot at the Frog Pond. Depending on the event, we may have games, freebies, or other cool activities. Keep your eyes peeled!

Birthstone Frogs

Our lovely artist, Pegasuswolf came up with the idea for this event. Here's how it works:

Every month, there will be a new frog to adopt. It will be based on that month's birthstone, and anyone whose birthday is that month can adopt the frog. The frog stays up for adoption all month, and then is archived when the month is over. All you need to do is fill out the form and follow the rules!

1. You may only adopt this month's frog if your birthday is the month of the available frog.
2. You may not adopt frogs from previous months unless they are still available.
3. Please fill the form out correctly and completely.
4. These frogs are not breedable.
