Deep in the heart of the Valancy Forest, by the crystal clear waters of Lake Tranquility, there is a small thicket formed from brambles and cherry blossom, This thicket is the home and nesting place of the Ding Bats.
These elusive little critters, come in all colours and pattens, although they are scarcely seen, and over the years many people have gone in search of their nesting place, but few have ever found it.
Lost in the woods, you stumble on a clearing, a beautiful sparkling lake reflects this tranquil scene in it's calm waters, thirsty and exhausted you proceed to take a sip, as your hands touch the service of the water, ripples dance over the reflection, a sudden tiny squeak catches your attention, you turn and see a small thicket decorated beautifully, in cherry blossoms and black berries, a faint rustling noise is coming from inside, you venture towards it, expecting to startle a small rabbit or mouse
As soon as your hands reach towards the blossoms, a small grey and blue blur, whizzes out in front of you, causing you to jump and stumble, over the root of a tree. As your mind comes too, you feel a warm patch on your chest, you open your eyes and see the most peculiar little creature, it's big eyes glisten with confusion and it's big ears twitch as if anticipating your reaction, it has a furry little body and a very large fluffy tail, it's wings are made of many delicate velvet feathers, it's paws are cat like, although it looks more like a bat. A BAT! A DING BAT! Ofcourse you'd heard the stories as a child, but you never believed them to be real!
As you stare at it pondering weather to brush it off or stroke it, it starts to walk up your chest and nuzzles your cheek, it's purr is almost silent like a humming birds beating wings, you give it a very gentle stroke, it's fur is so soft to the touch that it gives you cause to want to squeeze it, but you couldn't bare to hurt such a beautiful creature.
As you think about standing up the Ding Bat flaps it's wings and hovers right beside you. You stand up and look at it, you smile at the thought of such a cute little creature having just apologized for startling you. As you smile the Ding Bat flies up to your shoulder and just sits there, as if it has done so all it's life.
"So, I take it your coming with me?" You ask in joking fashion.
It looks up at you, eyes sparkling, it nods it's head, followed with a happy squeak.

Ding Bats are matched to there owners, so your personality must be in sink with the Ding Bats.
They are bound to there owners and are loving creatures. They come in all colours and types, they mate for life, but only in the mating seanson, in May.
Ding Bats are about the size of your hand. They can only have upto two pups a litter. They may not all have magic quilities, but all Ding Bats can bring you good luck.
Ding Bats have a heightened sense of empathy, they can understand what your thinking and how you feel. They're wings are very strong for there size, they can even fly upside down and swim very fast underwater, although they tend to be happier in the trees. It is said that some Ding Bats have special magic trates and they can manipulte the world, these special Ding Bats are known as Elementals they are extreamly old and are considered sages of the forest.
Ding Bats are known to be immortal, they can live for thousands and thousands of years, as long as they can survive the hardships of winter and troubles in the forest, the spirit Valancy will always watch over them, she is considered the god of the forest.
