Vernixian {Ver-nyx-e-n} Hounds are large, eyeless, and aggressive creatures. They travel in large groups called a Murder. In most Murders, there are around eight to fifteen Hounds in it. They live in a matriarchal society, but in each Murder there is usually around two to six females, the rest being made up of males. Vernixian Hounds have no eyes, but they do have a gill-looking feature on their cheeks called Radies {Rad-eyes} that brings in information around the world around it when pulses, like a bat's echo location. They also have a some-what large nose that helps them bring in smells, as well as long ears to help pick up sounds. The whiskers on their face as sensitive to the touch, and help them work their way around things if their Radies aren't working correctly. They are very large, the mature males ranging from 4'9" to 5" high from the shoulder and 5'10" to 6" long, not including their tails and mature females ranging from 5'2" to 5'5" high from the shoulder and 6" to 6'2" long, not including their tails. Their tails are about just as long as their body, maybe just an inch or so shorter. Vernixian Hounds are also usually very aggressive, and they are known for attacking and killing humans if one gets too close, hence why they are called a Murder. They don't stick to one area, though, Vernixian Hounds are very nomadic and will be found traveling a lot. They are nocturnal and carnivorous, and they use stealth and their Radies to help them find and kill prey. They have two different methods of killing. One, they just savagely attack the victim and eat them right then and there, eating everything except the skeleton {this includes humans}. The other is biting their victim and letting it run off for them to track later. Vernixian Hounds have a bacteria in their saliva that will go into the victim's body and destroy the immune system if not cured quick enough, and once the immune system is destroyed the bacteria will begin to dissolve everything within the victim's body {bones, organs, etc} into a liquefied version of them all, and then the Hound will lick it up. Neither is very preferable. Vernixian Hounds like to eat hearts, though, and getting the heart is a great honor if it's whole and not liquefied. They tend to be in both natural and unnatural colors, ranging from color combos like purple and orange, brown and blue, black and white. Males have two small teeth coming out of their upper jaw that is shown at all times, and females have more saber-like teeth. Vernixian Hounds are very adaptable, the reason being because where they come from they were forced to adapt or die. Where they come form? Well, they come from the planet known as Vernix {hence their name} in a far off Galaxy. Scientists brought some back to study them, but just like in a cliche science fiction movie, they broke out, then multiplied.
