How to adopt-
You must fill out whatever specifications that the artist has put on the form. The form will be on the Tempestine’s page. The artist can put whatever they want on the form, so don’t argue if the questions seem irrelevant to you. Do not change anything or add anything on the form! Just leave it as it is or you will be disqualified.

The Species

Tempestines are large, thickset draft horses that can reach heights of 8 feet and have the ability to live in/on the clouds. They have the ability to live in/on the clouds and are stormbringers. Tempestines also have large antlers and can make electrical currents run through them, releasing bright bolts of lightning while doing so, and the hooves of their hind legs can "kick" strong thunder waves.

Another curious characteristic of these creatures is that they have a tuft of fur that grows on the base of their tails and long feathering covering their split hooves. Tempestine tails are really long and flexible, almost feline like, with another tuft of fur at the end. Their manes are very short, actually, while their forelocks are curiously long. Another very noticeable characteristic of the Tempestines is that they almost always have paint patterns on their coats. The second most common markings are roan or appaloosa, but they can have any horse coat pattern.

Another important detail about the species is that there are differences between male and female:

Male: Long rear fur tuft and a "beard" hanging from their chin.
Female: Short rear fur tuft and lack of "beard".


The life of a Tempestine.
Tempestines live in herds on the clouds(there may be cases of stray tempestines, but it's very rare) and feed on solar energy, using their antlers as solar panels and "charging" them. Whenever the herd decides to migrate, the movement of the dozens of tempestines creates a thunderstorm below, since their strong legs end up pounding the water out of the clouds and the energy gathered by them during the day is released from their body as lightning bolts and thunder.

Although it's not common to happen, a tempestine can descend from the clouds and land on earth. Those who do this usually land on mountains, since they are closer to their home, and pass their time resting and eating grass(they don't need to eat it, but they can if they want to)

The tempestines also are born without antlers, and while these don't start growing, the only way for the foals to absorb energy is by nursuring on their mothers. Also, when they stop feeding on the milk, the antlers are still too small and weak to work propperly as solar panels. With this, their mothers help them by touching their antlers to the foals', transfering part of the solar energy gathered by them to the their bodies. They use this technique until the foals are old enough to feed on the sunlight by themselves. This move is also considered as a touch of affection between adult tempestines.

The Breeding:
When Tempestines mate, it is not for life. Stallions can only cover a mare 5 times. Mares can only have foals 3 times. Keep track of how many times you breed your Tempestine(we may up the numbers later). You may breed your own Tempestines together, or you can request a breeding with someone else’s Tempestine. The breeding will only occur if both owners agree and the foal will be designed by one of the official species artists. Whoever requests the breeding may keep the foal.

Here's my artist corner of the Tempestine forum. I had thought of their concept long ago, and it was originally for a deer. Though deer aren't a very popular animal, I decided to make them horses. Lilian helped me with their appearance. I'll be taking breeding slots here. To order a breeding, simply PM me the two parents. You must verify that owners of the other parent said it's alright to breed them, unless you're breeding two of your own.
