Don't worry. Even though most of the newer peoples (and me, cuz' I'm lazy. :3) don't have as experienced horses, we'll take them to the top. No worries.
I'm pretty much gone.

Ok;

To help toppy out. I am going to run a competition through the FANCLUB; Click the link on the front and there will be a link through that. It will be a taste of what is to come when the new thread opens!

I still want to open it again, and I am still going to try, but right now, it seems the most likely time will be when I'm off school, which is in a month.

And one of the other reasons that I've often thought about, that is making me delay putting H10 open again, is the fact that while it does run very nicely, it's a lot of work for not many members. A major problem, that I think, is that since older members are so far ahead, it's just not possible for newer memebers to ever catch up. I don't know how we'd fix this, other then having several sets of competitions, but that would be so much more work that it's just not going to happen, or to have 're-sets' every so often, where every member has to go back to the beginning, maybe just dragging over only 10% of their skills or credits or something, but I don't think that would be a very popular choice. So that is my biggest problem. It's just not efficient, is what I'm trying to say, and very hard to have new members join. So if anyone has a solution, that would be very welcome.

I had noticed there are a LOT ofcompetitions. Maybe just reduce it down to 4-5, get rid of tack and extras, assume all horses are tacked and just have trainings. Then to stop people gaining too many credits you could always say no more then X amount per week from competitions. So no more then 20, or something, but still offer rosettes to horses but rather then for each competition you do a colour rosette for a number of wins, or podiums (first second and third) then you only have to add rosettes to horses every so often.

Just some idea;s.

Thank you Shadey for making that, I'm glad we have something going now.

Horsy, those are good ideas. I think I will cut a bunch of competitions and put a limit. But how will we fix the problem of the top horses being so far ahead of anyone else? And I think I might do something to change how foals get their skills, it doesn't seem fair to me that you can just spend 10-15 ish credits on a breeding and get a foal that will be near the top already, when newer players have to work and work and work to get anywhere near close.

You could do it so they get a percentage, or at least 30 points distributed in the catorgies like their parents.

Why don't you have a limit where they can reach, instead of getting further points? Surely that will make it easier, and then the players have a TARGET to get to?

but hat happens when all horses hit that limit? Then there will be random competition winners repeatedly.

Or the cost of training goes up after say 100 points, when it's doubled or tripled, then after 200 it's doubled or tripled again?

(No! I mean for the foals! So it's fairer for the newcomers!)

Then the foal wills most likely grow up. Then the limit is removed? Seems like a bit of trouble. I agree with horsy. The more skilled a horse gets, the more credits it'll cost.

I like the idea, but it means I'll be paying 100s for a single training on just one of my horses. Maybe increase the amount of credits we get too?
