Ananta

I Want To Adopt!
Username: seasee3
Kennel number: 102
Name: Ananta
Gender: femaleBreed: corgi (dog)Why do you want this character & What will you do with it: There are plans to breed her with another potential adoptee, role playing and stories are the other two things I would use her for. The turquoise "H" on her side made me think of her as an unique dog. Her name did not realy fit any personality that I could come up with, so I changed it to Ananta. Ananta means forever, to me she is a character that's strengths will shine through and her love with last forever.
Personality: Ananta is a very quite, sweet, motherly type. Volunteering at the local day care brings her great joy, seeing all those faces smiling and happy without a concern in the world. Worrying is a pastime that no human or animal could break, every time a ambulance goes by, or something happens on the news she worries to no end. Unlike all her bold friends Ananta tends to shy away from loud parties and games of truth and dare. This attitude towards life changes after she looses some on special, she becomes drawn back and hesitant. After that life altering experience she has questions about her self and her abilities to look after children. She must learn to over come these challenges and persevere through life.
History/Background (most important part of the form): Finishing her shift at the local day care, Ananta heads home along the rarely traveled road, it is very scenic. As she walks passed the Lilly pond she thinks of the party her friends are going to tonight, a birthday party at their favorite club. As much as she liked celebrating other animals accomplishments, such as how old they are, tonight she wanted to study for her daycare licence. Ananta loves children and every thing about them but, she never wants to get married. Allowing her mind to wonder she thinks of all the happy couples she sees around town, no she did not want that, she never wanted to be that close to any one. Although her plan in life to have no mate may seem the opposite of her love of children, she knows she could spend her life helping other couples with their children. On her arrival home Ananta discovers her mother and father, who she still lives with, had left a pile of dishes for her to do while they go on their 2nd honey moon. Laughing and singing she put on her old brown and cherry apron to do the dishes. The pattern on the old dishes of daisies and marigolds made her think of her late grandmother. Her grandmother had been a nanny for some of the richest families in the town, she gave most of her well earned pay away to help community projects. In her last days she requested that they try to save as much money as they could at her funeral, so the rest could be donated to the playground fund. One of those cost cutting measures was that they would use china dishes instead of paper, on of those dishes just happens to be the one she is washing now. Her grandmother was her hero, never married, her mother was an out of wedlock child. Yet her grandmother was always around children. Having finished the dishes Ananta settled in for a long night of studding when her phone rang, it was her friend Amber. Amber was a wild crazy party girl, every party there was she was at. Now Amber may not sound like the type of person Ananta would be friends with, but Ananta often takes care of Amber's little boy Thomas. Amber wanted Ananta to come to the birthday party at Amber's favourite club. Not wanting to go to the party she offers to look of after Thomas instead, no luck though Thomas' Grandma was looking after him. Finally after twenty minutes Amber won and Ananta agrees to come to the party.
At the party there are large balloons every where, as Ananta steps in she is hit by one. Shaking her her self off she heads to the quietest corner she could find. Unluckily for her a group of rowdy boys come over her way.
"Girl, you wanna play a game of truth and dare with us men". Said an boy, their leader of about 16.
Politely she told them no. They continued to pester her anyway, finally she gave in.
To the leading boy she said "truth or dare". Back and forth they went.
At 10:30 or so Ananta decided to go home, she had to go to work early in the morning. At home Ananta slipped on her favorite yellow slippers and through on her blue house coat to read her book before she went to sleep. After a long restful sleep of dreaming about children she got up. Opening the old wooden door bedroom, Ananta gracefully walked to the shower. Unlike most animals she loved taking cold showers. As a young child she was always the last to have a bath or shower so while her siblings had steamy hot water, she was lucky if she got a full bath tub of lukewarm water, so she started to take cold showers. After a cool shower and quick makeup and hair prep, she went into her flowery yellow and blue kitchen. Using one of her few hidden talents Ananta makes an egg with the impression of a smiley face on it. Letting the egg cool down she headed outside to collect today's newspaper.
Her neighbor Bella calls to her "how are you?"
"Good, you?" Ananta calls back.
"Good, looking forwards to the weekend" Replies Bella. Bella run a club so the weekend means more money, especially since to day was pay day. Heading inside she sits down to enjoy breakfast and look through the newspaper. Slyly she turned the page to the gossip column, one of her secret indulges. The columnist wrote of a couple one deer one fox that may have had a secret litter, because inter species relationships are look down upon, so any offspring would have been hidden. Laughing at the absurd notion Ananta finishes off her breakfast. Heading off to work she thinks of the children she may never have.
Arriving at work Ananta, double checks to make sure they have all the supplies for today's craft, kites. "Glue, scissors, dowels, paint..."she speaks to herself. At 8 o'clock sharp she heads outside to collect all the children. Once inside and through the morning routine, Ananta tells the children "you each will need four sheets of paper, and two sticks. Each table will need one stick of glue and a pair of scissors. Come and get them."
Thomas Amber's son asks Ananta "How do you attach the paper?"
"Here let me help you... See here, put some glue there..." She tells him in response.
After she said good bye to the last of the students, Ananta locks up and waters the cactus.
Walking home along the dirt trail, she mostly spent her time looking at the magnificent northern lights and the super moon. But a small cry of pain caught her attention. Looking along the path she hoped to spot what ever creature needed her help.
Seeing there is no creature on the path she starts to look farther in, she can just make out a streak of golden brown fur. Hurrying over hoping it was still alive, she picked up the creature. It was barely alive, she could just make out it's tiny breath, in and out, in and out.
Hoping to save this babes life Ananta rushes home. Using her forearm she clears the kitchen table with ease. Laying down the animal she begins looking for herbs that would help the child.
Hours passed the little one was not much better, their little breath could hardly be heard. Knowing that she would have to stay home all day with it, Ananta calls work and asks "Can I please have today off I am not feeling well?" The lie was because this babe was a mixed creature, looked down at only because the child's parents had been two different species. Her boss lets her, after all this is only the third sick day since she started.
When the realization that this creature was mixed set in she began to wonder if what the gossip column said might be true.
Hours later at night fall the child has taken a turn for the worst. "Stay with me little one, you are safe. Fight the pain" pleads Ananta.
Another frightening hour passes. Thinking to herself out loud "it will be gone in seconds, what can I do to make it pull through? Name it." Ananta hopes to save the little one.
"Little one who is strong and brave I give you the name Tove. Tove let this be the name you carry from birth to death, the one that is carved upon you head stone. Let that be many years form now." Cries Ananta. This will not do, in a last ditch effort she hugs the babe, hoping all the love she can give will keep it on this earth. Unable to stay here any more Tove takes a finial breath and leaves the earth behind.
Crying in rage and sorrow over Tove's death Ananta does not move of the rest of the night and all of the next day.
When she finally is able to move, Ananta picks up the phone to call the medical department, when she remembers the gossip column page. Not a single animal would care about the babes death, only who it's parents were. They would not condemn the abandonment, but jeer the child's parents and their love. No she would not call them, she decided. Rapping the baby in the finest cloth she owns, and getting a shovel she heads to the place she found the babe.
Digging deep into the soil she finds a bigger rock, that is perfectly shaped and of out standing beauty. Looking at the bundle rapped in cloth Ananta knows that this rock was meant as a head stone for Tove. Placing beautiful blue and purple flowers alongside Tove in the grave, she weeps. Throwing that first shovel load of black earth onto the body of Tove is the hardest part for her, knowing that he is gone forever. Using a small kitchen knife Ananta carves
" Here lies Tove, a young orphan loved and cared for to the end."
"A life that had only began was lost today."
Once again she found the prettiest flowers and placed them around the grave in the most carrying, and loving manner.
Walking away from Tove's grave Ananta knows that something in her life had just been changed forever.

Why do you want this character? I look at this character and seen great potential, however he is not going to reach his limits in a kennel. Truly there is no better way for him to live life then to be role played and used in stories. There are so many dog, cat, and horse characters out there, that I realy never thought that I would get a fish or other species. When I seen this guy I knew from the moment I looked at him that he was an individual creature, that very few people would want him, but I did.
Where will you use it, and what will you use it for? While I will use him as a mail carrier in a town run by animals. But who knows things might change.
Name: Glotrout
Nickname: Glen
Gender: male
Personality: A rather friendly fish, who likes to keep up on all the gossip. Glen will always spend an extra moment to help out, wether it be home work, gardening, or snow shovelling. Now sure he has his pit falls, such as always complaining to the mayor that she needs to change the air in his water system (more in the history), or about the city hall needing a new paint job, of course he would help. He is one of those fellows that every one likes, easy to talk to even if you hardly knew him. He is single but all the older ladies are trying to find him a wife. None of the younger girls mind this, they all agree he would be a quite a catch. Glen is not ready for the responsibilities of be a husband or father, yet, but that day will come.
History: (from the point of Glen) I opened my eyes to look at this strange new world, all around me stood stick like beings draped in white. One of those things spoke, it was so loud my little ears rang. I Swam around to the other side of my cage, there was another fish like me. This other fish was, green in the gills, red around the fins and purple and blue in the body. It took three big gulps of water, then it's black eyes bulged, rolled in its head. The white covered beings plucked it out of the water before it could float to the surface. (Weeks later) I am naming things, white covered stick beings are Walkers, where I live is called Walled-water and what I eat are pellets. (glass shakes) oh no, every thing is trembling. My walled water shatters I am thrown onto the floor. Bits of it dig into my scales. Glancing at my cage I see a sicker with the word "glotrout-glen", is that my name? I see black, all around me things are bumping into me, I am so scared. All around me I feel water again, faster like a current, I know what to do in a current. Gently moving my fins I propel forwards.
(Later) All around me are fish that have the same body as me, but they look so plane. I could join them or I could swim the other way. If I were to join them maybe I could belong, I will join them. I swim over to some boys who look my age, and ask if I can swim with them. They say "ask the big boss, the one with only part of his flipper left".
Swimming thought this mass of trout I see the big boss. I want to go straight up and talk to him, but I wait a minute to make sure that this is what I want, it is. Turing around to look at me is the biggest, meanest fish ever, almost three times my size, with scares and torn fins every were. Slowly I find my voice "sir my I please join your school?"
Grunting he asks "why should I let you, punk".
I close my eyes and think about my self why should I be aloud to join. "Sir I am very smart and know all the streams around here."
Laughing he says "your just another mouth to feed, but you may stay".
"Thank you sir, you will never regret this move".
He just smiles at me, with his large teeth that could chomp me up.
I go back to the boys who helped me find big boss. "Hello my name is glen, who might you be?" I introduce myself.
The boys give me blank stares, saying "who do you think you are coming here and taking our food?"
I whisper "sorry" and leave.
Things went on like this for many months always getting worse, I must make a choice it is the time when food is little and many fish freeze to death. Behind me comes the leader of the boys I met on my first day, yelling "you better get out of here, or we will eat you one day". Not for a second do I believe that they would eat me, but kill me? Yes. I must leave now, and there is not a single fish is the school who will miss me. I take a small stream that I almost do not fit through, I wonder where it will take me.
(Years later) This stream has led me to a small town were a young dog has helped me to assimilate in. I am going to a town meeting to see if the good citizens form around her would be willing to put in water tubes to I can deliver their mail. Over their to my left is the mayor, the completely oppose the tubes, while on my right the councilman who want to see them built. The mayor is just one of those people I never got along with, to strict and unwilling, she almost said no to having this meeting by the river because it was not in the town hall. If I where to become the mail man, I would be the first, what a honour. The mayor bangs the hammer down, will she choose to let me stay here and become a true fish, or make me an out cast forever?
Likes: routine tasks, and helping people out.
Dislikes: rule following to the point of harm for the harm, and persnickety people.
